i feel like a lot of arguments over Internet Platforms could be solved by simply rejecting platforms entirely and hosting everything on your own website. but a lot of people dont want to learn html i suppose

#like i think once i stopped thinking about the internet in terms of Platforms To Exist On i realized that i dont have to put up with shit #you know????#like thats kinda why i moved everything from ao3 since i was personally dissatisfied with it #and i saw a post today about the logistics of increasing moderation on ao3 and i dont like how the conclusion was #'this is the best its gonna get without doing some insane worker exploitation and everything else sucks so you might as well just use ao3'#like. no you dont have to use anything just make your own website....#same with arguments like 'you have to be fine with tumblr shoving ads and merch down your throat every 2 seconds because its the only good-#-platform left!!! where will we go if tumblr shuts down!!!'
