In real life we keep facing problems and we keep devising solutions. The nature of solution depends on the characteristics of the problem. The problem is part of a larger population. It is impossible to known the exact characteristics of any population. We need to closely estimate the characteristics so as to solve problems. The size of a population is large. Not always possible to collect and compile the entire data points.

Hence, we can only estimate. There are ways to do statistically and do it systematically. In order to drawn a definite conclusion on an experiment or survey or research, the outcome should be statistically significance. We take statistics from a sample of the population. We then make an estimate of the parameters of population. There has to be some proposition to arrive at a conclusion based on certain statement of truth.
