Is this a common issue? Why not make the contract have the pay first?

Rarely can you get full payment upfront for work in the creative field. It's standard practice to get at most 50% of the total up front. Down payments are great way to keep from getting completely ripped off, but if the project is delivered there is little that can be done even under contract. Unless I want to take them to court which would cost more than what the actual invoices usually run. 

And most clients eventually pay they just like to take their time.

It's special only in that they use it to regularly transport bodies, and probably has some custom fittings in the rear to secure stretchers (and those rear-windows are likely blacked out). It's not like they're commissioning cars for this. It's not a minivan they commandeered from a mom, or borrowed from a friend.

Alcohol just thins blood, meaning it will make them bleed more and faster.

Yas hunty, I know. But I'm hoping that if my throat looks like death tomorrow then they'll actually give me pain meds instead of trying to wean me off of them like they have been since the second day after my surgery.

By the way ... this story was built on the second picture of the first panel (Susan and Reid talking about the corpse - still my favourite dialogue). That’s all I had when I started. Then the rest of the story happened itself 😁

What's with you and country music? Why are you so drawn to it?

I grew up in the South, so it reminds me of growing up and home and all that. It doesn't take itself too seriously and is fun. I also really like the instruments and instrumentation of the music. I mean, why is anyone attracted a specific form of music?
