So pleased to have participated in Laos to present “Saving Wildlife Through Art” addressing the urgency of animal conservation for endangered species including Gibbons, Sun bears, Pangolins, Snow Cloud Leopard’s, Particolored Flying Squirrels and other animals indigenous to the region. I taught art and jewelry workshops to high school and fine art students, and also professional artists. I also have a presentation on “The Role of Art for Social Change” The goal is to introduce youth to new ways of thinking about art and how it relates to animal conservation. We also created handmade, beautifully crafted art jewelry. Materials include air dry clay, the creation of artistic beads and mixed media, metal mesh, wirework and metalwork, using up-cycled fabric, and recycled plastic water bottles.
