Aren’t they all. Summer props her chin in her hand, watching the nonsense shapes she’s tracing in the sand with her heel instead of looking at him. “Good night for ghosts, isn’t it?” she sighed.

It had been quiet today, relatively. Negotiations put on pause until tomorrow to let a sandstorm rake through this afternoon; she’d elected to stay in Vacuo after relaying the heads-up.

Now the sun’s setting and the air is clear again, if even more parched than usual, and it’s as nice an evening as it ever gets around here. She cocks her head at Qrow, tries on a smile. It’s wry, a touch self-deprecating, but genuine. “I feel like one, sometimes. A ghost.” Legally speaking, she is still dead. Paperwork’s kind of low on her list of priorities. “What’s yours got to say?”

James opened mouth and closed them. He shouldn't admit that he very much had such moments. He was supposed to be the leader and keep everything and everyone together, so how could he admit to such thing?

He opened mouth again. He couldn't lie to Qrow. He didn't want to.

"Do you..." Quick! Solution! Any sort of! ...godsdamn. "want some water?"

That was plain embarrassing, but on his behalf he added quietly: "...I've heard that helps. Perhaps."

Everything was still hazy as she blinked her eyes several times, trying to focus on the man next to her. After a few tries she could see him clearly and moved to push herself up. Pain coursed through her at the movement, sparking from her ribs and extending upwards towards her scar as she took in a sharp inhale. Just how hard had she taken that hit? "Hurts," Pyrrha started, fingertips rising to assess the damage. Her ribs were bruised at least, and it wasn't helping matters with her still healing injury. Even with all the strides she has taken in her recovery, a hit of that caliber would be enough to reignite pain. "I am assuming the grimm have been dealt with? I don't think I will be able to continue fighting right now."

“I’m sure they would like to know you are getting rest.” She offered while setting down a tea tray. “Let’s just hope I don’t have to have the same chat with them.” She poured both of them a cup.

I'm really bad at picking muses, so here's literally every muse's favorite ice cream flavor:

BABYDOLL : this one is remarkably specific. it's those little pots of vanilla ice cream you used to get out of a school or hospital cafeteria, the ones you eat with the wooden spoon where you wind up tasting the spoon as much as the ice cream.

CARRIE WHITE : vanilla bean, although she didn't get a chance to try as many flavors as she would have liked.

CATIANA FREESPARK : she's not really one for sweets, so she'll just get whatever the most interesting sounding one on any given day is. if her friends vehemently are against a flavor, she'll absolutely get it just to fuck with them.

KAGAMI TSURUGI : melon. when she finally finds a place in paris that offers it, she brings marinette and alya to try it with her. it's sweeter than the ones back in yokohama, but she's happy to have a taste of home.

LIAN NICHANG : milk ice, which isn't really the same thing as ice cream but was the ancient chinese precursor. it's closer to a shaved ice than true ice cream.

LUNA : strawberry. usagi is usually nice enough to share some with her.

LUNASOL GALANODEL : chocolate cherry, but the sort where the base is cherry and it has chocolate in it, not the reverse.

MAXIMILIAN CALYPSE : ( modern!AU ) maxi has never met an ice cream flavor she didn't like, but she's especially fond of bubblegum.

MIYU : matcha, although she has been known to enjoy ube flavor from time to time.

NATHALIE SANCOEUR : affogato. it's basically a scoop of milk gelato drowned in espresso.

PERSEPHONE : she doesn't really have ice cream often, and prefers sorbet. will usually have something like rosé or elderflower.

RIZA HAWKEYE : plain vanilla. she rarely ever treats herself to it, but she prefers soft serve.

ROGUE : butter pecan. can't mess with a classic, right? and yes she will make fun of you if you say pe-cahn instead of pe-can. ( she's wrong. )

RYOKO HAKUBI : canonically, she has no sense of taste... so honestly, she'll just pick whatever the most colorful one is. it usually has some ridiculous name like "tye-dye" or "moon mist."

RYUKO MATOI : honestly, she'll eat whatever kind of ice cream you put in front of her, she's really not picky. when it comes to choice, however, she'll probably pick out mint chocolate chip.

SADAKO YAMAMURA : vanilla. when she was living, she especially liked getting taiyaki ice cream.

TABITHA DELAINE : coffee, especially when she and van are on a late-night stakeout.

VEX'AHLIA : chocolate fudge brownie. rich and indulgent, just like her. sorry, trinket, none for you.

weiss was getting a little too old to be making such stupid mistakes: particularly in the heat of battle. the mission was simple. eradicate the incoming grimm before they reached the borders of vacuo, and return home unscathed. it should have been an easy task, no matter how big and mean the grimm might have appeared at first glance.

despite knowing all of this, weiss still let her guard down (only a moment, she insisted), and paid the price as the full weight behind a grimm's tail smashed into the side of her head.

everything went dark. she could not have known how much time had passed, nor the wellbeing of her friends, as she finally came to.

her head throbbed excruciatingly. her vision swam as she struggled to stay conscious, stomach churning with nausea that she only just managed to swallow down. as weiss glanced upwards, she realized she was not lying in the sand at all, but in the sturdy arms of one jaune arc. his face was twisted with worry, and were she in better shape, weiss might have teased him for it.

"my hero." she sighed, her words slurred with the effort of forcing them out. "w-what... happened?"

((Getting on Aurora's good side is rather easy .As long as you're able to show that you're a good person, you're highly likely to be on her good side. As for gestures, any kind of platonic physical affection such as hugs, is greatly appreciated by her))

((Salem however is not the easiest to get on the good side of, outside of being her child [which is how Aurora is on that side despite everything] Proving your loyalty to her is one way of doing so. As for gestures, what she appreciate the most is being listen to, espically when its about more personal matters))

Ahh, understandable!!!! Cause I feel that. My muse for Weiss definitely comes and goes, so I try not to force it when that happens. Even though a lot of the times, I do want to write? But then I don't. So I totally get it. xD Muses can be fickle creatures, it's wild. But definitely take that break, cause I will be here when your muse decides to cooperate! (I assume I won't suffer muse lost. but regardless, we will get around to interacting again when our muses aren't stubborn)

On rarer occasions, he finds moments of unexpected levity. Reminders of the… surprises, the unpredictability of humanity. Nothing new under the sun, perhaps, but every reinvention of the wheel does turn a little differently.

The elevator dings. Ozpin settles forward in his chair as the door slides open, chin resting atop his interlaced fingers, his smile decidedly impish before he paves over it with a sterner look. “Jaune Arc,” he intones. “Please, come in. We have a rather serious matter to discuss, young man.” Oh, the boy does look rattled. Best keep the theatrics to a minimum, then. “Do have a seat. How about we start with you telling me your side of yesterday’s… incident in Forever Fall Forest? I understand there were some sharp words exchanged between you and Cardin Winchester.”

He didn't know what to say, so he remained silent for a longer moment. He wished he could promise that he won't ever stop caring, but aside from tearing him apart, what else would that achieve?

"You know I care. I can't afford to hope though." It sounded so awfully pathetic. He scowled at himself, his gaze avoiding Qrow. "I can't afford showing either. Not now."

Emerald looks startled at the statement, immediately pulling herself into the cool and confident girl everyone saw her as.

She did, though. She knew she looked sad when she thought she was alone.

This time is hadnt fully been her fault that she got a pretty bad wound on her arm.

She had been really careful during this fight against a group of Grimm, yet she got caught off guard.

"Have you taken any pain killers yet? If not, I will go grab some while you stay here and rest."

She knew that they kept a bunch of medication nearby, and hopefully there would be something to help her sister amongst it.
