3, 9, and 10 with catherine
Thank you so much Seyiku!
3) Show me some concept art of your f/o!! How much different is it from how they look now?
Tumblr media
So here’s what I could find. It doesn’t look hugely different from her appearance in game, so I’m guessing this is from later in development. Also ooouuughhh thighs. Anyhow, next question.
9) Do you actually like your f/o’s combat/play style?
Oh Catherine is a goddess in combat. She’s so broken when you first get her, and honestly she stays pretty viable for the rest of the game. Her one weakness is that there really aren’t any master classes that suit her - which can be fine because she stays good as a swordmaster. I personally put her on a pegasus for that extra nyoom. Anyway yeah, she’s great and I love her.
10) What would your s/i’s combat/play style be?
So the specific self insert I use for Catherine is Scathach, and she’s usually a mounted mixed attacker. She’s kind of a glass cannon and doesn’t want to take too many hits, but she deals some real damage with both her attack and magic stats, and Canto makes her very movable. She could also probably work as a gremory to maximize that magic, but that’s trickier due to me right now thinking she has a penalty to faith (though I could change that). Short answer she’s a sick dark knight.

Sword of the Creator, Royal Sword, and Nosferatu for your 3H S/I?
I’ll do both of them!
Sword of the Creator: Let’s talk supports. What are supports like between you and your f/o? What is your highest support rank?
Oh boy there’s a lot for both of them, so I’ll pick the most important ones. I will say that in my mind (and the way I write them) they all go to S rank, but I’ll play by the game’s rules to answer this one.
So Mira’s most important support is, of course, Edelgard. Their support largely revolves around Mira being a supportive friend and a subplot with Mira receiving letters from a secret admirer (who turns out to be Edelgard). Their support reaches A+ (if not S), so it will win out over other A supports for a paired ending.
Her support with Jeritza revolves around him trying to deal with romantic feelings, and her being one of the few people to be willing to approach him and open up to him. Eventually he realizes what his feelings are and asks to stay by her side.
And I haven’t planned this one out entirely, but I think her Constance support definitely involves Mira sharing her parasol with her. It starts with her letting her borrow it, but then they end up sharing it. And Constance is completely in denial about Feelings.
Scathach’s big ones are, of course, Catherine and Shamir. The Catherine one is special because Catherine is able to guess her crest and gets her backstory out of her that way, and it resonates with Catherine due to the similarities to her own past. There’s also undercurrents of them being close friends with sometimes competitive tendencies. This one would be an A+ rank support.
Her support with Shamir is a little different, it’s the process of Shamir warming up to her and trusting her more. They probably respect each other’s skill at the beginning, and Shamir comes to appreciate her more, probably while also denying romantic feelings. This is also an A+ rank support.
And lastly Seteth; this one centers around her poking into Seteth’s true identity and background while he pokes into hers. This one is notable because Seteth is able to find out Scathach’s birth name, to her shock. It’s probably her wit and resourcefulness that earns his approval in the end.
Royal Sword: Is your self insert a noble? Royalty? A commoner? How does this affect their story?
Mira is a noble, but a fairly minor one! She is a baroness from a minor barony. Her family holds some power, but probably nothing comparable to some of her peers.
Scathach is a commoner from Arianrhod. In reality, she is a member of a disgraced branch of House Daphnel, said to have split off as early as the first generation born from Daphnel. What the child did to get disowned is lost to history, but the disgraced branch changed its name and hid in plain sight in Arianrhod ever since.
Nosferatu: What class is your self insert? If applicable, what class do they promote to? What class would you put them in if you had to pick a different one?
I usually present Mira as a Dancer class! It feels relevant to her very Renaissance woman-like interest in the arts, and she does have some training in it from before she came to Garreg Mach. Of course, assuming she isn’t chossen or doesn’t win, I usually picture her as a Wyvern Lord or Gremory. She’s big on offense, no matter what weapon she is given. Also Wyvern Lord is her default class in other FE games, so I had to include it as a nod to that!
Scathach comes as a Paladin, albeit a unique one as she is able to use magic due to her personal skill Shadowgift. She’d usually promote to Dark Knight, but she’d look really cool as a Gremory as well.

💬How about Dedue?
I’ll try this for both of them I think!
So Mira is in an interesting situation because in most routes her siding with the Black Eagle Strike Force would put her in Dedue’s bad graces, but I do think given the chance they would get along well. In a route where all three factions managed to team up against a common enemy (like the one Justice is working on), I think they could be good friends! Mira’s warm and calming presence would probably work well for Dedue.
Scathach actually does interact with him in other routes, considering she can side with the church (even if that’s not what I usually imagine). Being a fugitive herself I seriously doubt that Scathach holds a lot of the hostility towards Duscur that a lot of her colleagues hold, being both a fugitive and a bit of a church skeptic herself. I could see her being in a supportive mentor position to him.

alondite and folkvangr with scathach?
Thank you Fae! I appreciate the ask!
Alondite: Does your self insert have any special weapons? If not, is there any particular weapon you associate with them?
I guess you could say Luin fits the bill! Ingrid can also use it, but because she has a Major Crest of Daphnel, she can use it very well. She’d also be able to use the Arrow of Indra well, due to her magic talents. She just comes with a regular old Iron Lance at recruitment, though.
Folkvangr: What kind of unit would your self insert be in Fire Emblem Heroes? What alts would they have?
I was struggling between making her a lance unit or a magic unit, but it just felt wrong to not make her a lance unit. She’d be a lance cavalry unit with high attack and speed, and possibly solo-type skills. I also want to give her a summer unit because that sounds hilarious. Probably a duo unit with Catherine. Their weapon is a volleyball, which counts as a green shuriken.

💬 Seteth?
Scathach: “Don’t think I don’t know that you are hiding something from me. From all of us. If you’re so intent on prying into my secrets, I’ll find yours as well.”
Premise: their support up to a point is this strange stalemate of both of them catching onto the others secrets and figuring out more about what the other is hiding. Until Feelings happen.
