Summary : Merlin is too busy making a potion for King Arthur and you aren’t having any of it.

Word Count : 893 words

You laid on your bed and watched from afar as Merlin brewed together a potion for Arthur. He’d been tasked with watching over you as you had, once again, fell going up the stairs because of the sheer lack of balance the woman you switched bodies with had. 

Though your leg felt completely fine now! It’d been a while, and it didn’t hurt much to begin with. You could walk just fine without experiencing pain. But with Merlin ever being persistent, he told you to rest. After some time… it got quite boring not being able to do anything while Merlin did whatever magic things he was doing.

“Merlinnnn…” You called, hoping to get his attention.

The only response was a quiet and questioning hum. Not even a look or glance. Or a single movement directed towards you! That frustrated you as he’d paid no mind to you at all this entire time. Wasn’t he supposed to be your lover?!

Getting up from the comfort of the soft sheets, you walked to Merlin. Peering over his shoulder, you saw him mixing things together. You also noticed how he shied away from how close you were standing to him. But he was wearing his veil, covering his face like usual.

“Why do you still wear that around me? You don’t need to.” You reached up a tucked some hair behind his ear, resulting in him shying away. Again.

“I-I prefer wearing it.” He claimed, his hands now, shakily, working. 

“But I’ve seen you without it so many times! We’re also lovers, right Merlin? Doesn’t it get in your way a lot?”

He didn’t say anything back as he was apparently trying to ignore you in favor of his work instead.

You pouted, becoming upset as it felt like just simply didn’t want you around right now.

You huffed as you turned towards the door to leave. “Fine. I’m sure Lancelot will keep me company.” Despite saying that, the queen’s secret rendezvous man was the last person you wanted to keep you company.

“No.” Suddenly, Merlin spoke up, clearly not happy about what you said. Or he was jealous.

Looking over your shoulder, you could see he finally put his work down and was facing you. “A-Ah! H-He, I-I…” He stammered, looking away and back at his things. Since he turned away, he didn’t see you start approaching him again. “H-He wouldn’t be good company for you…”

Without warning, you gently pulled his veil off his face, with him protesting after. You couldn’t care that much as you tossed it onto your bed. Cupping his pretty face after, you looked into his eyes. Merlin’s face was almost like a tomato as he started tearing up, like usual.

“You’re so cute Merlin. You know that?” He brought the back of his hand up to cover his mouth as he looked away. You brushed away the tears building up in his eyes and wrapped your arms around his neck, laying your head on his shoulder. With how your bodies were so close together, his face only get redder.

You started planting small kisses to his upper neck and under his jawline, making him squirm. Trailing up further, you kissed all over his face. Leaving just one part that was covered by him. Gently pulling his hand away, you look him in the eyes again. You wait and watch him, making sure he was fine with this and that you weren’t making him uncomfortable. 

When you saw no signs of said feelings, you pulled him closer and kissed him deeply. Savoring the moment and the satisfaction of finally getting what you wanted. You entangled your hand into his hair—a color akin to that of beautiful snow—and brought him closer once again.

Unexpectedly, he wrapped his arms around you. His hands coming around to cross into an ‘x’ over your back. If there had somehow been even a sliver of a space between you two, there definitely wasn’t one now. Your bodies now pressed fully against each other as you kept deeply kissing one another.

You pulled away a moment later, planting a kiss to his cheek and stepping back. With a playful smirk, you spoke. “Well, my ankle is getting tired and I’m sure you still have your magical things to work on.” You started making your way back to your bed when you felt him grab your wrist and turn you around swiftly. 

Merlin tightly wrapped his left arm around your waist and used his right hand to pull you in, his fingers catching in your hair. One of your hands rested on his upper arm, and the other on his shoulder. A few seconds later, he pulled back and rested his forehead against yours, albeit being flustered.

“Merlin?” You muttered, feeling your heart start picking up in pace. “King Arthur can wait. He doesn’t like the potions anyways.” He muttered back quickly, for once looking into your eyes without wavering. Smirking playfully again, you whispered to him. “You were supposed to have been watching over me anyways. I’m getting what I’m due.”

Through the night, you two lavished in the soft affection and closeness you offered the other. Ultimately, you slept in the arms of the man you loved, who cherished you just as much.

And Merlin learned that it’s nicer to postpone work for you.

Author’s Note : literally looked up the meaning of fondle because I didn’t want to use it wrong here. Spent part of a week or longer procrastinating this. I feel like I ended up making ‘reader’ really moody.

The midnight blue sky, with bright stars, shined moonlight down into the corridors of the castle. Which is where you were.

You were coming back from Arthur’s office, talking about the blueprint of your weapon—your gun.

Until you heard the familiar mewl of the same black cat that keeps coming around. Ignoring it at first, you kept walking—staying confident in your strides while making your way back to your chamber. The cat followed you and continued its noises.

“What? What do you want Mordred?”

You finally addressed him, turning to him with a scowl on your face. Crossing your arms, you waited for his response.

“What’s with the hostility? Thought we were close. You should also be more careful about how loud you speak. Someone could have heard.”

His tail swayed back and forth, his tone sounding more amused than annoyed. “What do you want?” You repeated, hoping to make it quick.

“Just you.”

His quick reply caught you off guard as his straightforwardness is…not often.

“…What?” Your shock had been very evident as he seemed to have made a sound similar to a chuckle before he leapt from the railing and made his way to the room you two have met together in before.

Following him, you stayed cautious. His intentions weren’t clear and the Eternal Night was getting closer. There’s no telling what he might have been trying.

Once you finally came to the door and stepped in, he came in behind you. Moments later, the click of the lock sounded. Turning around quickly, you saw that he stood in his regular form—no longer a cat—and had his hand on the doorknob.

“No one will disturb us now.” He said with a playful grin, stepping closer to the bed in the room. Staying where you were, you watched him sit on the edge of the bed.

“What are you trying Mordred?” Skepticism heavy in your tone, you crossed your arms again.

“Nothing. I have no information to give you for now. I just came here to see you once more before the Eternal Night when I conquer Camelot and claim you as mine.”

His confidence was nothing to scoff at. It wasn’t the first time he said something like this. He truly believed he would defeat Arthur and would take over Camelot.

“You wish.” This makes him look at you now. He stares at you for a moment before laughing maniacally. After a few moments, he calms down and only grins.

“We’ll see if you’ll still be saying that when it truly happens.”

“What did you even come here for Mordred? You’re wasting my time.”

His grin doesn’t falter as it becomes a smirk while he pats his thigh. “Come closer.” Hesitantly, you walk further into the room. Standing before him as you make no move to sit in his lap, he wraps his arm around your waist and makes said action for you.

Now sitting in his lap, his other hand comes to the back of your head, pulling you in to kiss him.

He smirks as your lips are connected, his hand now brushing through your hair. His other hand however, is trailing further downwards as he tries to put his palm on your thigh from under your dress. Though his actions are stopped as you grab his wrist, halting him from going any farther than just barely under the hem of your dress.

Pulling back slightly, he tries to start speaking—but you cut him off before he gets a word in. “You might’ve come here to do ‘it’ with me, but I didn’t. The only thing you’ll be getting right now, is just kissing and failed advances.”

Pausing for a moment, he stares up at you. “So I still get to make advances, but you won’t let me go through with them. Is that correct?”

“Yes.” You nod, relaxing just a slight bit before he closes his eyes and smiles. “Well, it’s a bit disappointing that I can’t have that, but I shall make do with what you’re allowing.”

The next minute, he’s already brought you back in for more. Kissing passionately, heavily breathing as his hands move up and down your body. Every now and then, he’ll stop moving his hands—squeezing wherever he stopped them at, before he continues fondling you.

This continues for a while longer. And while you and Mordred were once sitting up, he eventually let you push him onto his back—just so he had more chances of grabbing you in other areas. Pulling away from him, you worked to get your breath back. Meanwhile he brushed a hand through your hair, smirking at you.

“Why don’t,” You pause, taking a breath to steady your voice. “Why don’t we go to my chambers? For the night?” You watch as he looks like he is contemplating it. There’s little doubt in your mind that he’s actually thinking it over, rather than just messing with you and pretending like he’ll say no.

“Well… I don’t know if I’m able…” His smirk gets bigger, clearly teasing you. Narrowing your eyes, you sigh. “Then. I guess you can go back home. Or you can cut the crap and stop messing around.” His eyes widen just the slightest bit, before he just smiles again.

“You’re so feisty. It makes you even more captivating.” 

You groan exasperatedly. “Look, stop being stubborn! Just come with me to my room.” You tell him as you stand up off the bed, straightening your clothes. He follows your actions, standing up and smoothing over his clothes.

You walk out of the room, looking both ways down the hall to make sure no one would you see you. After there was no sign of anyone, you take a few steps down the hallway towards your room, checking behind you to make sure Mordred was following. 

He stayed behind you in cat form, as to not be recognized. A few minutes later and you arrive in front of your door. Stepping inside, you laid down on your bed, savoring the moments of calm before the storm in the comfort of your sheets.

Sadly, said peaceful moments were cut short because Mordred, having already gone back to being human. He didn’t waste the opportunity to start kissing at your neck.

“Couldn’t have let me have some peace before you did that?” You ask, criticizing him for having no patience.

“Couldn’t wait~” You groan internally, knowing this will be a long night with him.

All through the night, you continued what you did in the other room. Making out and fondling one another, up until you fell asleep in each other’s arms.

You felt happy, despite Mordred having some, many, screws loose. You slept happily, enjoying the warmth of being in his embrace.

But that happiness died when you awoke. Finding nothing but the coldness of your empty sheets.

I’m not especially his fangirl, I don’t say I wish they would release his route, but he is an interesting character so he could have gotten more role. Prof. Schuyler: ohohohohoho, this is my topic ;-) My opinion about him? *throws feelings into the crowd, here, have all of my feelings* He keeps his words and tries his best to protect the one who was important to someone important. I try not to say spoilers so word repetition FTW xD Loyal guys are hot! Also, I don’t think he could be one of the three mages, a royal attendant wizard or such a skilled teacher if he wouldn’t be smart. Strong wizards are hot! He never joined the dark side. Unwavering guys are hot! And why do some people say he’s not good-looking? He’s a badass guy with quite a difficult past, of course, he has a strict expression on his face! Though I’m curious about his smiling or soft face too… Argh, I’m so fckng hopeless! Months ago I wrote: "I’m not sure how long I can hold back to write a sequel to the Schuyler fanfic I wrote" Now let me announce: since it's time for sequels, something is on the way here too... ;)

Monthly Manga Review Index: Halloween 2017 Edition

I’m posting my monthly review index earlier than normal so that folks in search of a Halloween read can find one this weekend at their local comic shop. To that end, I’ve compiled a list of recent horror manga reviews, and linked to Halloween Comic Fest, an annual event in which retailers around the country give away freebies, discount merchandise, and invite the public to meet their favorite artists. Comic Fest takes place tomorrow (October 28th), and manga offerings include previews of Junji Ito’s Shiver, Battle Angel Alita, and The Mortal Instruments. 

Thus far, I’ve posted two reviews this month, taking a closer look at H.P. Lovecraft’s The Hound and Other Stories, an adaptation of three early works, and Until Your Bones Rot, a thriller about a group of teens with a secret: they murdered a man and hid the body. Summary : Arthur calls you to his office right after lunch, after your discussion, he recognizes something from you…

Author’s Note : just based on context clues, I’m assuming ‘player’ was in an assassination organization. Sorry this is really short though. I’ve kind of just wanted to get it posted. 

Well.

Life has been great. 

You work for an assassination organization, you’re given a task. You drown and die on said task. You’re given the opportunity to live again, except you have yet again, another task. If you don’t do it right, you can’t return to your world.

Well you’re basically stuck here now since you apparently didn’t do it right. But that’s the only major downside.

Since the former queen died during the Eternal Night, and because you and Arthur fell in love with each other, you got promoted from “Lady of the Lake” to “Queen.” But it was basically just marriage.

Anyways, moving on. You’re walking down the corridor towards your husband’s office. He sent for you there immediately after lunch. You’re curious as to what he wants from you.

A few moments pass and you’re standing at the door. You knock on the hardwood frame, waiting for confirmation to be allowed in.

Once inside, Arthur is sitting at his desk, fingers entwined with his elbows on the surface as he seemed like he had probably been doing nothing while waiting on you. He looked at you and stared for a moment before standing up.

“You’re here.” He spoke, wearing a smile. 

You walked forward to in front of his desk, before asking—“What did you need me for?” You fold your hands behind your back, as he walks around to you. “Just had something I wanted to discuss with you.”

The conversation starts as you and Arthur stand across from each other. He leans against his desk while your arms are crossed. He speaks about repairing the damages made by the black mages during Mordred’s invasion. Part of the way through his talking, you zone out—staring at the stunning man you call your husband. You noticed how the sun filtering into the room made him look so handsome.

“(Name)?”

Him calling your name broke you out of your trance. Arthur had a smirk on his face, as if he knew you spaced out. “What’s on your mind?” He asked.

“…nothing.” It wasn’t really “nothing.” But you weren’t going to tell him that. “Oh really? You’d been staring for a few minutes. I stopped talking after I asked for your opinion and you said in response.”

You were busted now. “U-uhm…” You stuttered, knowing he caught on. Looking away towards the floor, you barely noticed him stepping forward to you. Arthur takes your chin in his hand and makes you look at him. He stares back at you and slowly leans in to kiss you.

A short but deep kiss takes place. But as he pulls away, he looks… confused? Before you can ask, he interrupts. “What have you eaten recently?”

The sudden and seemingly random question catches you off guard. “Jus vermi heads… why?” You question him as well, bewildered by such a reaction.

“That’s what I had thought… you’re free to go now. We can always discuss repairing later when you’re not so zoned out.” He smirks at you while you leave with a face red of embarrassment.

i started playing Secret Kiss with Knight like… yesterday??? But I’ve already made a fanfic (since there’s so few of them) for it and I’ve never written any for anything else. And it’s for Merlin. (I’ve got a Mordred one in the making as well.)
