Follow @urbandesign.lab Break / Connect / Activate Urban regeneration strategy and rehabilitation of public space in Barrios Unidos This project is mainly one of urban regeneration. It proposes to articulate 5 points of great importance for the San Fernando neighborhood, in the town of Barrios Unidos; the San Fernando Park, the San Fernando Rey Parish, San Fernando Community Hall, and the Gimnasio Corazón de María and Distrital República de Panamá schools through a network of public space that reactivates and regenerates its context. It starts from a question about how cities like Bogotá can be intervened; That is, it is almost totally urbanized, but whose public space is deficient and is not designed for people. It's critical to think about interventions that recognize that erasing pieces of the city completely can be harmful to communities. These 5 points are fundamental for very different reasons; They generate activities ranging from educational to recreational, for this reason it is important to recognize the dynamics they generate to propose a public space that is diverse and complements them.
