7 Must-Have Features to Look for When Buying from CCTV Camera Suppliers in Dubai
In today's dynamic and security-conscious landscape, businesses in Dubai are increasingly prioritizing robust surveillance systems to safeguard their assets, employees, and customers. Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras have emerged as an indispensable tool, offering a watchful eye and deterring potential threats. However, with the plethora of options available from the best reliable CCTV Camera supplier in Dubai , selecting the right system can be a daunting task. This comprehensive guide will unveil the seven must-have features to consider when investing for choosing the best CCTV cameras, ensuring you make an informed decision that aligns with your business's unique security requirements.
Tumblr media
Regulatory Compliance: Adhering to Local Laws
Before embarking on your quest for the perfect CCTV system, it is crucial to understand the legal obligations surrounding the installation and operation of surveillance cameras in Dubai. The Emirates have stringent regulations in place to ensure privacy and security, and failure to comply can result in legal consequences. One such requirement is obtaining approval from the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), which oversees security systems in the region.
Investing in SIRA-approved CCTV cameras from reputable CCTV Camera Supplier in Dubai offers several advantages:
Regulatory Adherence: SIRA establishes precise standards and criteria for security systems, and their approval guarantees that your CCTV setup meets these guidelines.
Enhanced Security: SIRA-approved cameras are designed to meet the highest security benchmarks, incorporating advanced features and technologies that bolster monitoring and threat detection capabilities.
Seamless Integration: SIRA is the regulatory authority for security in Dubai, and having SIRA-approved cameras facilitates seamless integration with local authorities, enabling law enforcement to access and leverage your footage efficiently during investigations.
Trust and Confidence: The SIRA-approved badge instills trust and confidence in your security measures, providing peace of mind to business owners, property managers, and homeowners alike.
By prioritizing regulatory compliance from the outset, you not only ensure legal adherence but also gain access to cutting-edge surveillance solutions that offer unparalleled protection for your business.
Clearly Defined Objectives: Tailoring the System to Your Needs
Before delving into the technical specifications of CCTV camera Dubai, it is imperative to clearly identify the objectives of installing a surveillance system. Are you primarily focused on home security, commercial monitoring, or public surveillance? Understanding your precise requirements will guide you in selecting a system tailored to your unique needs, as different contexts may necessitate specific features and camera types.
Tumblr media
For instance, a residential property may prioritize discreet indoor cameras with night vision capabilities, while a commercial establishment might require a combination of high-resolution outdoor cameras and advanced analytics for monitoring customer traffic and employee productivity. By defining your objectives from the outset, you can streamline the selection process and ensure that the chosen CCTV system aligns seamlessly with your security goals.
Resolution Matters: Capturing Crystal-Clear Footage
In the realm of surveillance, image quality is paramount. The resolution of your CCTV cameras directly impacts the sharpness and clarity of the recorded footage, which can be crucial in identifying individuals, reading license plates, or analyzing events with precision. In Dubai, where high-quality monitoring is essential, it is advisable to opt for cameras with higher resolutions, such as 1080p or even 4K.
Higher-resolution cameras not only capture finer details but also allow for seamless digital zooming without compromising image quality. This feature can be invaluable in investigating incidents or identifying potential threats from a distance. Additionally, high-resolution footage serves as valuable evidence in legal proceedings, ensuring that crucial details are not overlooked.
When exploring options from cctv camera supplier in dubai, be sure to prioritize cameras that offer superior resolution capabilities, as this investment will pay dividends in terms of enhanced security and actionable intelligence.
Night Vision Capabilities: Ensuring Round-the-Clock Vigilance
Dubai's climate presents unique challenges, with low-light conditions prevailing during the night hours. To maintain comprehensive surveillance around the clock, it is essential to invest in CCTV cameras equipped with advanced night vision capabilities. These cameras typically employ infrared (IR) or low-light technology to capture clear and detailed footage even in dimly lit environments.
Infrared cameras utilize invisible infrared light to illuminate the scene, enabling them to capture crisp images in complete darkness. Low-light cameras, on the other hand, are designed to amplify available light sources, such as streetlights or moonlight, to produce clear visuals.
By incorporating night vision capabilities into your CCTV system, you can ensure seamless monitoring and eliminate potential blind spots during the evening and early morning hours. This feature is particularly crucial for businesses operating around the clock or those located in areas with limited ambient lighting.
Weather Resistance: Withstanding Dubai's Harsh Climate
Dubai's climate is characterized by extreme temperatures, high humidity, and occasional sandstorms, which can wreak havoc on unprotected electronic equipment. When selecting CCTV Supplier in Dubai for outdoor installation, it is imperative to prioritize weather-resistant features to ensure the longevity and reliability of your surveillance system.
Look for cameras with robust housings and Ingress Protection (IP) ratings, which indicate their resistance to dust and water ingress. IP ratings range from IP65 (dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets) to IP68 (dust-tight and suitable for continuous immersion in water), with higher ratings offering superior protection.
Additionally, some advanced CCTV cameras from reputable cctv camera supplier in dubai incorporate features like blowers and heaters, which help maintain optimal operating temperatures and prevent condensation buildup, ensuring clear image capture even in extreme weather conditions. Cyber Legend Technologies offers one of the best services according to your needs. It offers the best IT Products suppliers in Dubai .
By investing in weather-resistant CCTV cameras, you can safeguard your surveillance infrastructure against the harsh elements, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted monitoring of your premises.
So why are you waiting for ? Secure your life with the best CCTV Camera Supplier in Dubai.

Sunsets and footballers (Part 79)
Alexia Putellas x Character (35) - Ridley Part One
Masterlist (other parts here)
((**4.5k**))
This is PART ONE of TWO for Ridley. You DO NOT have to read this! This is simply me getting out what's been in my head for a while about Ridley and her darker side and military ties. Although this one isn't bad at all, part two will be a lot more graphic and morally grey.
Any Australian military mentions such as squadron types and specialties are 100% real and researched.
Feel free to skip these two Ridley parts as you won't be missing anything in the main story. :)
RIDLEY POV PART ONE
Ridley’s body was thrown into the straps of her five-point harness relentlessly. She was sitting in the jump seat of a C17 – a last minute military aircraft she’d caught from London to Dubai. She just needed to escape. To get far away from her in the hopes that it would stop her from hurting Alexia. She wasn’t too concerned with hurting herself.
“The CAT is easing, Commander,” came the voice of the pilot through her head set. “We’re almost through it.”
CAT – Clear Air Turbulence. Ridley was tired, but she couldn’t sleep. She was seated in the cargo hold which was devoid of any other human except herself. “Copy.”
The flight was 7 hours long, and most of it she’d spent staring a thousand-yard stare into that void of the cargo hold just thinking about her. Alexia. The way she’d whispered, moaned, begged for her. The way she felt, the way she tasted and fucking moved with her. Her sounds when she whimpered, when she’d was pushed to her limits… when she came. It had broken Ridley, like she knew it would. How could she ever want anything less than all of her after that? No, she deserved more. She deserved the whole fucking world, and not the monster she was. Alexia had no idea what she was getting herself into with her, and she needed to protect her from herself.
They landed at 2pm local time and she caught a lift into town with one of the senior ranked officers on base. Ridley was known in the military world, and she’d been around. Met a lot of people. Worked hard and climbed the ranks. She was respected for her accomplishments, and now could come and go as she pleased, as she held such a high security clearance.
“Are you sure, Commander?” The officer asked.
Ridley nodded. “Here is perfect. Thanks for the lift.”
“Give us a call if you need anything. Anything at all.”
He left and she waited for him to do so. Only when he was gone did she jump on public transport to get to where she was actually going. She was used to frequenting Dubai for a few reasons, one of which being that it was central and in her line of work, that was essential.
She exited the train and moved over to the bus line, making sure she wasn’t followed as she went. Always aware. Always watching. Avoiding cameras and drawing attention. The bus moved through six stops and she stepped off just before the doors closed. From there she walked to her destination, stopping at a café on the way to pick up some sweets. A popular local sweet dish in Dubai that she loved was knafeh, which she bought along with filled donuts which were a must.
She paid for her items, adding a bottle of water to the list and was off down the street. She arrived at her destination at around 2:45pm and stopped outside, looking up at it. It was a mechanic shop. And not just any mechanics, the best in town. Anyone who knew Dubai knew that expensive cars were a given. Almost everyone had one. And this was the place they all fought for bookings at.
She walked into the open floor planned warehouse which was lined down the outer edges with cars on different levels, each getting work done, and each more expensive than the last. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bugatti, Maserati, Rolls Royce. She walked through and acknowledged each nod she received from the people who worked there. She came upon the office of the owner and knocked twice, opening before he answered.
“Ridley!” The voice boomed. Ali was a rich man, though not the egotistical type. In fact, he was rather the opposite. Most of the money he made went straight back into humanitarian efforts and other philanthropic endeavours.
She greeted him with a kiss on the cheek as she placed the knafeh on his desk in front of him.
“For you.”
He hummed as he looked her up and down. “You seem different…” he said in a strong Arabic accent.
Of course she did. She was fucking heartbroken. Grieving. In love with Alexia and forcing herself to break her heart. Plus, she hadn’t slept in 46 hours and had been wearing the same clothes she’d thrown on hastily as she’d left her in bed 9 hours ago.
“I haven’t slept in a few days.”
“No, no. There’s something else…” he murmured, still wondering. Eventually he gave up like people usually did. Ridley was a closed book. “But alas, I think I’m tired myself. I’m guessing you’re here for that?” He asked, gesturing to the wall.
She nodded.
“I was told you weren’t coming. Are you staying for long?”
“Unsure.”
“You’re welcome as long as you’d like. Anything you need.”
Anything you need. She heard that during almost every conversation when she was in Dubai. Another reason she enjoyed the place so much.
He smiled as he opened the box and she forced herself to give one in return. It’s not that she didn’t want to – just that it was difficult to fake any sort of positive emotion at this point.
Ridley turned and moved through the second door in his office. The one that was barely used. It led to the part of the warehouse that no one was allowed to enter except Ali and a select few individuals. The individuals she was there to meet.
She entered to the darkened part of the warehouse and was greeted by four heads turning towards her with the majority of their expressions showing they were caught off guard. All except the one person standing. The big guy.
He stood in front of the trio with a projector behind him, and his hands held behind his back with discipline. Beckett. That's what everybody else called him. That or Lieutenant. To her, he was Becks.
The trio sat casually in front of him, their chairs met with desks either side for their notes and food. Their faces spread into grins as she approached, placing the donuts on the table.
“Oh no, she’s here! Fucking knew this was another BOHICA,” said the little guy known as Fuzzy. His real name was Kaupa and he was SASR for Australian Army. They all were. Together, the group was made up the Fourth Squadron of the Special Air Service Regiment, though the government had never acknowledged their existence, nor ever would.
To the public, there were four official Squadrons. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd were sabre Squadrons, made up of 20 troopers with differing expertise, and they rotated through counter terrorism/special recovery and warfighting/reconnassaince. Then there was the 152nd Squadron designed for electronic warfare and to support the sabre squadrons. There were more, of course, though these four were the basis of the SASR for Australia and were always closely supported by the Australian Secret Intelligent Service for any of their missions and activities.
Their fourth squadron was not the usual. Instead of five of each in their special fields, there was one of each. And they were the best.
First, there was the little guy, Fuzzy. He was called Fuzzy because he was born in Papua New Guinea and during WW2, the Australian soldiers in PNG named the locals the ‘Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels’ as they helped them, cared for them, gave them medical attention in support. Kaupa fit that description. He was a little loose cannon, though the best when it came to his specialty. Mountaineering and jungle warfare. You’d never even know he was there until you were dead.
The next was a typical Australian guy named Williams, though they called him Wombat. Short for eats, shits and leaves. Crass, but true. He never settled down and never slept with the same woman twice. The typical womaniser, though Ridley loved him. He was unapologetically himself and he was well aware of his shortcomings. You had to be a bit of a nutcase to be in their profession. His specialty was Airborne. He could pilot anything like Ridley, and she’d met him when they were in the Air Force together, prior to their being poached by the SASR.
The last of the trio was a woman named Morgan. Her nickname though, was Duce, short for Medusa. Why? Because she could level a man with a gaze and wasn’t there to fuck around. She was the toughest of the trio. Her specialty was Mobility. That was ground movements, land movements, logistics, terrain and sniping.
She grinned at Ridley who returned it without a second thought. These were her family away from family. The people she trusted with her life. Though she trusted no one beyond the big guy. Becks. His specialty was Water. Scuba diving, water raids, submarines, etc. They ran the Squadron together for some time and although she held a higher rank in the Air Force, they both held the same in the Army and refused to be made higher. They didn’t want a desk job or to be put in command of more platoons and squadrons. No, their job was perfect and to be quite honest, she doubted that anyone could replace any single one of them. That’s why they were so successful. That’s why everybody in that dark side of the world knew them, and yet the public never would. They did the terrible things so that people could live their lives in peace and a blind happiness.
“You always think it’s a BOHICA,” Ridley murmured as she stood next to Duce. The woman wrapped an arm around her waist and smirked up at her.
“We both know Fuzzy loves a bit of bending over and taking it.”
BOHICA: Army slang for ‘Bend over here it comes again’ i.e. we’re being fucked.
“Now, now, there’s no problem with swinging both ways,” Wombat teased with a wink. He wasn’t just a womaniser for women, that one. Wombat loved everybody.
“I didn’t think you were coming for this one, Wings.” Becks said from the front. The others went quiet. He was very well respected. They both were. And he was the only one who called her that.
She shrugged. “I was bored. Besides, I figured you’d all need the help.”
“Oh no she didn’t.” Wombat challenged and stood.
“Bad idea bad idea, Romeo will smack you down,” Fuzzy said – wanting to see the result.
“Need help huh?” He fake challenged again.
Ridley stepped forwards and got close to him. Real close. The one thing he couldn’t control with her was his dick, and she had never, nor would she ever have done anything past a friendly touch with him. So now with her so close, he froze and as her lips closed in on his, she swept his leg and shoved him hard in the chest, forcing him to fall hard on his ass on the chair.
“Keep dreaming, Wombat.”
He grinned and stuck his hands up in surrender.
Ridley took her seat near Duce and put her attention back on Becks. “The floor is yours.”
Becks started presenting their mission again, throwing her a pack to read through.
“Here’s the finer details, the basis of it is that we’ve had a task we need to complete tonight. The son of one of the biggest political figures in Dubai needs recovering. His father is of vital importance to the current political stability in the middle east. He keeps the peace between Dubai and the western countries, including Australia.”
“Where is the son?”
“Taken hostage by Somali pirates. They’re using him as a bargaining chip to have his father cut the relationship between the middle east and western countries, and also money. Lots of money.”
He wasn’t saying the full story and she knew it. “Spit it out, Becks.”
He studied her face with a neutral expression before he spoke. “Cumar has him.”
Fuck.
Cumar was one of the largest crime lords in Somalia. Up until this point, they hadn’t managed to capture or kill him. Though he had killed one of their own. One of the pilots she and Wombat had trained with. He’d killed him right in front of her as she hung from the fucking ceiling, beaten and bloody. She was lucky the group had found her in time. She had more than a few scars from that incident. That was the last time she’d disappeared from Alexia.
Cumar, however, had escaped. He was currently the most wanted man on the globe.
She turned and looked at Wombat whose jaw was locking and unlocking. James was his friend too. It was difficult to not involve emotions.
“This is not revenge,” Becks said, reading their minds. “This is an overdue extraction. He’s been with him for two weeks now.”
“Two weeks? Where the fuck are the SAS? Why didn’t they handle this?” Wombat growled. He had a point; they had a lot more riding on it.
“They’re stuck in the Ukrainian conflict, and the uprising in the middle east at the moment between Palestine and Israel.”
“Seals?”
“They tried. They lost contact with them before they even reached his base and the yanks received some… prizes in return.”
Body parts.
Cumar.
“They believe this to be impossible. They want the best.”
Silence again. They were an interesting group of personalities, though they all had that intellectual and professional persona when it was serious.
“You wouldn’t look so confident without a plan..” Ridley murmured.
“This is mainly mobility so Duce has made a plan and we need to expand on it and see if it’s viable.” They nodded. “Duce?”
They switched places, Duce taking the front and Becks sitting in the seat near Ridley. He put a hand on her shoulder briefly. That’s the most physical affection he tended to show, though it meant everything.
“I’ve been liaising closely with ASIS and we believe his location to be here,” she said, pointing to an area on the map. She spoke of the location, identified the hazards and from the intelligence they were given, where their security were posted. They all listened carefully, adding their expertise here and there to overcome each of the potential issues that were already onsite or that may arise at some point as they made their detailed extraction plan. As they were talking – Ridley knew that coming here had been the right choice. Sure, she hadn’t slept in two days, but this… this was distracting. It was the only thing that could have distracted her from the thought of Alexia.. the softness of her skin… the feel of her hands tangled with her own as she fucked her from-
“Romes?”
Ridley looked up and Duce smiled. “You weren’t kidding when you said you were tired.”
“Mmnhmn.”
“We were talking about this. This is where we believe the Seals had an issue. They chuted in but their carrier was spotted and fired upon. From there, they were already dead, it was just a matter of picking them off when they touched ground. There’s this strip here that we’ve noted which may potentially be large enough to land at…”
“If their carrier was spotted then engine noise is our other issue,” Wombat said before turning to Ridley. “Can we glide in?”
Wombat was a fucking good pilot. But he knew what he was asking was dangerous and beyond anything he’d done before. Ridley had much more experience testing the limitations of aircraft and maximising the efficiency of an aircraft within the relative airflow.
She stood and Duce automatically stepped aside. Ridley pulled up the live map of the landing strip, she checked the wind, the cloud levels, the distance to the first potential group of people who may hear them. She’d need to shut down engines early… though from the look of the air pressure and wind…
“It’s dangerous. It has the potential to go very, very wrong. But it’s not impossible. With the weight of everybody here… we can use a plane small enough for the strip. It’s a full moon with direct contact to the strip so we will have okay visibility without lights when we go engines out. We can pull lighting just as we come down to flare, the trees will cover it by then. The biggest issue is getting an aircraft with an incredibly high aspect ratio. Think gliders… with an engine.”
“What’s the range needed?” Wombat asked.
“If we get approval to base and depart from Mandy Bay… the round trip will be around 1000 nautical miles.”
“So… bladder tank.”
She nodded. “Definitely. We’ll calculate the fuel needed for the return before we land and dump the excess fuel for weight as we glide in.”
“Do we have contacts in Kenya?” Becks asked.
“I do,” Wombat nodded. “I have a guy who’ll have the aircraft we need. I’ll make a call.”
Becks nodded and turned back to Ridley. “We can do this?”
“I’ll need to monitor every and all weather changes, but for now, it will work. The strip is north east facing, directly into the forecasted wind. It’s also almost the perfect amount of headwind for the direction we hit it, and it’ll give us a bit of leeway too. Cumar’s location is north. It’ll be hard to hear us as we’ll be downwind of where they are. I’m thinking we can switch off the engine a little later than anticipated because of it. It may end up being a bit of a crash landing, though, depending.”
Duce chuckled and Fuzzy scoffed. “It’s all been crash landings with Wombat since you’ve changed to coming and going as you please. How’s life as a civvy?”
Civvy – a civilian. She rolled her eyes and ignored the attempt to get a reaction from her.
“Happy with the risk?” She asked.
Becks nodded and stood, offering a hand. He wasn’t big on physical affection, though this was a treat. She clapped hands with his large, rough one.
“I’m glad you’re here, Wings.” He was the only one to call her Wings, and she the only one to call him Becks. Their own little way of showing their respect.
“Me too,” she smiled. She was glad she’d come, knowing that she was the only one who could land this.
“But you’re sleeping on the cargo plane before we arrive.”
To anyone else, they would have taken that as an order. Although she’d moved to part time, coming and going when she wanted, it still didn’t take away her rank or the respect they had for her. Beckett always treated her like an equal, although he was technically the sole squadron leader now. She listened to him talk about sleep though, and she knew it was coming from a caring place. He wanted her safe. And the group. Fatigue was a liability.
“Wilco.”
An hour later, they were on another military aircraft to Kenya. Ridley had found a medevac stretcher and had settled there with her jacket over her eyes. She slept through the flight and only woke as they touched down. The landing gear hit the runway and she jolted upright automatically awake. Fuzzy looked at her and gave a somewhat sad smile. They all tended to have those reactions, after what they’d seen. And although the PTSD was mild and well managed with therapy – they all knew they were stuck with it for the rest of their lives.
They stepped outside to a bright moonlit night at the US military base of Mandy Bay, Kenya. Flying backwards, they’d gained an hour, as it was only 8pm. They were greeted by officers and taken straight to their prep room. Ridley and Wombat detoured on their way to scout the plane they were to use and made sure it was satisfactory for the job.
“Happy?” He asked as he inspected a prop.
She nodded from her place under the wing. “This will work.”
“How much fuel, Commander?” The US officer asked from his ladder. He was filling the bladder tank in the back of the aircraft.
“Hold five. And move it more central for our weight and balance. We can’t have an aft centre of gravity with the structure of this.”
“Yes, Commander.”
As he and another soldier moved the bladder tank more central under Wombat’s supervision, Ridley took out her tablet and double and triple checked her flight plans with the updated forecast of winds and weather.
“I need full wing tanks and that bladder with an extra 280 litres. I’m going in to prep. Standby in case the winds change before we leave.”
“Affirm - full wing tanks and 280 litres in the bladder.”
Their prep took hours – as it should. They were very, very thorough. It was rare they were ever caught out by surprises or unplanned events. They collected their packs, their weapons, and ran through their strategies with updated intelligence. Whatever happened – they didn’t exist. She wondered what Alexia and Blue would be told if she weren’t to come back. If she were to be killed. To be fair, she just wanted them both safe and happy. And then her will would provide the extra cushion of financial support for them.
Their off-blocks time was 10pm. They flew straight north, following the coast as the moon reflected the waves below. They flew high enough to not be heard, yet low enough to not be seen. There was a single road that ran across the border of Kenya, into Somalia and towards their target. It looked empty from above, yet they all knew better. There were definitely more of Cumar’s people checkpointing the road. Duce had intelligence on a few areas to expect them should they have to escape via road, though not all of them.
Being stuck in a situation where they couldn’t be seen or heard to approach, it meant they needed to conduct a non-conventional approach to the landing strip over water. This was to avoid the noise over the land. Ridley dropped them low over the ocean and joined an extended base for the strip. In the moonlight, they spotted it, but barely.
“Engines out is final.” She reminded. “We won’t be attempting to restart and we will be landing, regardless.”
“Affirm,” Wombat agreed from the right seat.
As they approached the height of engine out, he started to read her airspeed and altitude. This was the most difficult part by far.
“On spec… on spec… plus 4 on slope… plus 7 on slope… plus 10 on slope…”
Ridley had purposely increased her approach speed to compensate for the upcoming lack of power.
“Plus 15, plus 50…. 200 above engine out… plus 20, plus 80… 100 above engine out… 50 above engine out.”
“Established. Engines out.” She directed.
“Copy – engines out. Engine 1…”
Wombat shut down the first engine and Ridley compensated for the yaw with her foot pressed hard into the rudder.
“Feather engine 1.”
“Feathering engine 1…” The pressure needed from her leg eased as it feathered. “Engine 1 feathered. Engine 2 out…” He said with his hand on the second throttle.
“Affirm, engine 2 out.”
Wombat shut down the second engine, cutting the mixture and all went silent. They were gliding.
She compensated for the tiniest bit of yaw before, “Feather engine 2.”
“Feathering engine 2…” The need for rudder was eliminated until it was just to account for the wind. “Engine 2 feathered.”
“Gliding, lights out.”
“On speed, 50 below.”
He read her speeds and altitudes all the way down the approach, as was usual for a multi-crew environment. She checked her fuel and was satisfied with the remaining amount.
“Dump the bladder.”
Becks, Fuzzy and Duce dumped the bladder tank from the aircraft which made it lighter and put her back on slope.
“On spec.”
She’d adjusted perfectly for the engine outs and the weight loss from the bladder, and she could hear it in Wombat’s voice.
“Wind 030 at 15.”
She’d noticed the wind had shifted to a slight crosswind, though it was manageable. It was more difficult with a high aspect ratio of course. Longer wings means more area for the crosswind to push, though she worked the rudder and ailerons to crab into the landing strip.
“300 above. On spec…. minimums…”
“Continue.”
“200 above on spec. Lights on?”
“No until the flare,” she murmured. The trees were lower than she’d expected, and didn’t want to risk the lights being seen. “Lights at 70.”
“Affirm.”
“100 above.”
They were only 100 feet above the ground and descending at a rate that would result in disaster. But that’s exactly where she wanted to be.
“70 feet, lights.” Wombat said – powering the lights.
Ridley had a split second of vision to flare relative to the ground. She did so and held pressure back on the yoke, not having to compensate for the wind that was now blocked by the tree line. She held back pressure until the mains touched, and slowed with brakes until she could let the nose wheel down.
“Lights off.”
“Lights off.”
They went back to darkness, moonlight only, though that was enough. Ridley made the most out of the momentum of the aircraft to roll it to the far end of the strip and pumped the right brake in stages to turn them back around near the tree line. Ready for a quick getaway.
They stopped and parked there, pulling the park brakes on. She felt a hand on her shoulder.
“That was fucking extraordinary.” Duce said, speaking for the others. She leapt out first, with her pack and rifles.
Fuzzy tapped her shoulder in thanks on his way out also. “Missed you.”
Wombat gave her a grin. “You’ll always upstage me, huh?”
“Someone needs to keep you on your toes.” She shrugged as she took her headset off.
He leapt out and she went to follow suit when Becks murmured from behind her. “There will never be another you, Wings.”
The highest of Becks compliments. She didn’t have time to respond before he was out on the ground.
Ridley slipped out last, hitting the floor harder than usual with the weight of her pack. Now they were in Cumar’s territory. Any step could be their last.
All of the group were hyper focused on their surroundings and automatically took up positions where their backs were to each other, protecting each other. Regardless - Ridley hadn’t even had a chance to join when she felt a body against her back, and a knife pressed so hard into her stomach that it pierced through flesh.

Heartfirst: A Ted Lasso Story - Chapter Two
Tumblr media
Chapter Two: Part of the Team
Plot: On her first day working for KJPR, Y/n tours AFC Richmond’s facility and meets some of the staff.
Warnings: language, use of f!reader, (16+)
Word Count: 3.9k
A/N: Well, first off, thank you for the lovely response! I certainly didn’t endeavor to write anything for Ted Lasso (I was actually going to take a writing break) but this idea seemed good enough to indulge.
This has been added to the taglist in my bio, so don’t be afraid to click it and add yourself. It will be kept 16+ just for language and the show’s subject matter so I won’t be adding anyone unless your age/range is specified in your bio.
All that being said, I hope this nurses a little bit of your finale hangover. No Greyhounds to be found in this chapter, but a wild Ted does appear. Writing for him is going to be a hilarious exercise for me lol. Enjoy!!
—————————
Wanting to be prepared, Y/n had started doing research on AFC Richmond the morning after accepting Keeley’s job offer.
The slight buzz she’d managed at the bar had blocked from her memory that she knew more about Rebecca Welton than she thought. Years before, she’d seen her face splashed across all the tabloids at news stands and markets talking about her divorce from…for the life of her, Y/n couldn’t remember the man’s name. All she remembered is there’d been perfect pictures of him and his various models of the months, while the cameras always managed to catch Rebecca with a sour look on her face. Y/n remembered feeling like she could read the whole situation without without ever perusing a filthy word.
As she studied, Y/n put together that Richmond consisted of three coaches. The manager, Ted Lasso, was a name the whole country knew, regardless of whether you watched football or not. It wasn’t Y/n’s place to judge, but she assumed if he was still around, there was a reason. He’d brought along an assistant coach from the states with him, along with Roy Kent joining their staff the previous season. Another name she didn’t need to bother to learn as it was already burned in every Brit’s brain. There also seemed to be a scandal with a previous coach, Nathan Shelley, having abandoned Richmond for West Ham United as Richmond reentered the Premier League.
Having gone to school in London and staying after, Y/n had gone to plenty of football matches with friends. Much like American sports, she’d never been as interested as those surrounding her, but she enjoyed the atmosphere. However, she pulled up highlights of old Richmond matches on Youtube and studied them to try and get a feel for the players. Two in particular stood out to her.
Sam Obisanya caught her attention for his raw talent, the graceful way he managed to move in such a brutal sport. She’d also seen the way he handled himself in press conferences, always soft and well spoken. He’d been fearless in his defense of Nigeria, his home country, and against Dubai Air and Cerithium Oil. She had mad respect for him and his bravery.
Then there was Jamie Tartt. Going through videos of his stints at Richmond left Y/n puzzled. He seemed to have started out the cocky striker, too busy kissing his own foot to realize there were twenty more on the pitch waiting to shine. He never passed. He never assisted. It was all him. But then, after his swift departure and return to the team, his playing style shifted. Suddenly, he did pass. He did assist. A few months difference and it was practically night and day.
Y/n sighed as she shut her laptop, having just finished the video of him letting Dani Rojas take the penalty goal that secured Richmond’s return to the Premier League. She hoped Jamie Tartt, and all other Greyhounds, wouldn’t be a PR headache.
The night before she officially started at KJPR, Y/n found herself nervous. It seemed like too ideal of a situation to meet someone at a bar and be offered a job right after losing yours. She felt hesitant to trust that when she walked into Keeley’s office, she wouldn’t find a complete nightmare. She went to sleep with a clenched jaw and stiff shoulders, praying that this wouldn’t be another loss to face.
—————————
Y/n pulled up to the KJPR office building at 8:55. She adjusted her carefully ironed pants, smoothed down her blouse and blazer and took a deep breath. Her capabilities were the one place her insecurities had no place living. She was good at what she did, she just needed a place to do it.
When the elevator doors opened, she was surprised to find a small office with multiple occupied desks set up. Keeley had made it sound much smaller than it actually was.
“Y/n!”
A familiar voice exclaimed and Y/n peered across the room to see Keeley rushing out from behind her desk and bursting out her office door.
“I’m so glad you showed,” she grinned as she scurried to Y/n and took hold of her hands.
“You offered me a job and you thought I wasn’t going to show up?” Y/n asked with a confused chuckle.
“I mean, to be fair, I offered it to you in a restaurant after, like, a glass and a half of wine,” Keeley replied, “I’m not sure I’d have believed me either.”
Y/n laughed a little, very aware that all her fellow employees were not only watching the unprofessional display, but hearing the story of her even more unprofessional hiring.
“Should we…” Y/n gestured towards Keeley’s office.
“Oh, right,” Keeley practically shouted, leading Y/n back and through the door.
True to the little Y/n knew about the woman, Keeley’s office was head to toe…Keeley. Pink everything, floral patterns, a ceramic jungle cat in the corner…it was, most definitely, the most unique of any boss’s office Y/n had ever entered.
“Right,” Keeley said as she took a seat on the couch in the corner, leaving a spot for Y/n, “Let’s get to it.”
Y/n settled onto the couch, leaving a fair amount of space that Keeley immediately cut in half.
“So I know you said that you’ve been more of a manager lately, but that you’re good with PR,” Keeley recounted, “What did you do for you last companies?”
“Oh, I floated around a lot,” Y/n began to mentally run through her old positions, “I managed small teams under a much larger umbrella of board members. Minor stuff. But in the public relations department, I’ve been in charge of social media campaigns, run a few accounts, and handled plenty of press conferences, interviews, that sort of thing.”
Keeley’s smile grew with each task that Y/n listed off. “I think you might be the most perfect fucking fit!”
Language, another unprofessionalism Y/n felt she was going to have to get used to.
“Before all of this happened,” Keeley gestured to the frilly space around them, “I did full time PR for AFC Richmond and did all that kind of stuff. That’s actually where I wanted to potentially start you off.”
Y/n shrugged, silently grateful she’d gone the extra mile with her research, “I’ll go anywhere you need me.”
“Perfect,” Keeley grinned, already getting off the couch, “I was actually heading over there for a meeting with Rebecca. It’d be a great opportunity to show you around and introduce you to some of the staff.”
“Uh, sure,” Y/n quickly picked her purse back off the floor.
“I really think you’re gonna love it there,” Keeley continued, collecting her bag and a pink binder, “I feel bad I’m not there full-time anymore. It really is one of the best places to work.”
As Keeley spoke, Y/n followed her out of the office. She struggled to keep up with how fast Keeley managed to move in her high heels. As they waited for the elevator to arrive, a brunette woman passed them by.
“Oh, Barbara,” Keeley called out, “I want you to meet the newest member of KJPR. This is Y/n.”
Barbara looked Y/n over from top to bottom as if inspecting the latest crop. Y/n’s confidence in her extended hand began to drop under the pair of judging eyes.
“Pleasure to meet you, Y/n,” Barbara seemed to shake her hand with caution before turning to Keeley, “You didn’t mention anything about bringing on a new hire, Miss Jones.”
Keeley visibly shrank at Barbara’s words, “It was a spur of the moment thing.”
“Ah,” Barbara replied, turning back to Y/n, “May I ask what, if any, experience you have?”
Looking between Barbara and Keeley, Y/n listed off the positions she’d previously held and the companies names. With each title, Barbara’s frown turned into…something between a smile and a frown.
“Ah, well,” Barbara took a breath, “Lovely. Welcome to KJPR.”
With one more firm shake of her hand, Barbara departed, off to whatever task needed her attention. Keeley and Y/n were left in an awkward silence not of their creation.
“We’re still getting to know one another,” Keeley explained with a nervous smile.
“I got that,” Y/n nodded.
“Right,” Keeley shifted gears and gestured towards the elevator, “Let’s go. I’ll drive.”
—————————
Richmond wasn’t far from the heart of London, where Y/n had spent most of her time. Functioning nearly exclusively within the corporate world had kept her within a bubble that rarely gave her opportunities to venture outside its walls.
As Keeley drove them through Richmond, making pleasant small talk, Y/n’s eyes were transfixed on the sights. Nothing was particularly extraordinary looking, but compared to the grays and blacks of London office buildings, the place was like a daydream someone like her might create during their 9-5.
“Do you live near here?”
“Hmm?” Y/n snapped out of her thoughts, “Oh, I’m about 30 minutes away. But I’ve never really spent any time here.”
“Oh, it’s lovely,” Keeley replied, turning them down another road, “You should take some time this weekend to roam around.”
Y/n filed the idea away, first she needed to confirm that AFC Richmond was the right fit.
Soon enough, Keeley pulled them into the parking lot of Nelson Road Stadium. Y/n recalled that she’d been there once to see a match with friends in college, but that had been on the spectator side. Parking mere feet away from the pitch felt surreal, even for a non-football fan.
“I’m gonna take you up to Rebecca first,” Keeley said as she shut her car door, “None of the players or coaches’ll be here since they’re still on break.”
Y/n followed alongside her, entering the stadium through the side doors. The inside of the building was painted in team colors of blue and red. Along the walls, there were trophies and framed pictures showcasing the Greyhound’s accomplishments over the decades. The history of the club was something Y/n had yet to do research on, but even ten minutes spent in the halls would tell her more than Wikipedia probably could.
Keeley led them up two flights of stairs till the colors of the walls changed to neutrals. The door at the top of the steps hung open, but Keeley still gave a courteous knock.
Rebecca looked up from her desk, smiling when she recognized the two guests. “Good morning,” she said, cheerily.
“Hi, babe,” Keeley smiled, “I brought Y/n with today. Thought it might be good for her to tour the place.”
“Of course,” Rebecca rose from her chair and met Keeley and Y/n in the middle of the room. She brought Y/n in for a half hug, half handshake, “I’m absolutely thrilled you’re here.”
“Oh,” Y/n smiled, awkwardly accepting the greeting, “I’m…pleased to be here.”
“Right,” Rebecca released her and gestured for the women towards the couch, “I’m not sure what Keeley has planned for you, but we’re never without work here.”
Before Y/n could voice her neutrality, Keeley spoke up.
“Actually, that’s what I wanted to talk to you about,” she began, “I’d really like to have another pair of hands on the club, just in case there’s anything I might miss,” Keeley turned to Y/n, “I’d love to put you exclusively on Richmond duty.”
“Like I said, I’ll go where I’m needed,” Y/n raised both her hands in surrender to their plans.
Rebecca exhaled and grinned, “Perfect. Like I said, there’s never a shortage of work. With this being our first season back in the Premier League, there’s plenty of press to be handled.”
“I’m happy to go wherever I’m needed,” Y/n restated, deciding it was best to just go with the flow of things.
A knock at the door turned their attention.
“Good morning, ladies,” a shorter man sporting a suit and glasses entered the room.
“Higgins,” Keeley greeted.
“Good morning, Leslie,” Rebecca smiled, “I’d like you to meet KJPR, and Richmond’s, newest addition, Ms. Y/n Y/l/n. Leslie is our director of football operations.”
“Ah,” Higgins nodded, coming to the couch to extend his hand, “Welcome to the team, Ms. Y/l/n.”
“Lovely to meet you,” Y/n said politely, shaking his hand before sitting back down.
“Y/n will be helping Keeley handle the PR department,” Rebecca further explained, before her train of thought visibly halted, “Hang on…” she looked to Keeley, “Your old office is still vacant.”
Keeley gasped, “It is.”
Y/n’s eyes bounced back and forth between the woman.
“If Keeley can spare your presence at the KJPR office,” Rebecca placed a hand on her best friend’s arm, “How would you feel about working here?”
Searching for her words as quick as she could, Y/n shrugged one shoulder. “I’m completely fine with that,” she looked to her boss, “If Keeley’s alright with it.”
“Abso-fucking-lutely,” Keeley smiled, “I’d actually love it if we had feet on the ground here.”
Y/n blinked. Just like that, everything was settled.
“Excellent,” Rebecca clapped her hands together once, “Shall we go for a tour?”
“Ah, that was going to be my suggestion,” Higgins spoke back up.
Never before had Y/n been swept up so quickly in a job. Nothing moved that fast in the corporate world.
Keeley, Rebecca and Higgins led her back down to the main floor of the facility. Higgins and Rebecca spouted off a few historical facts about Richmond that Y/n logged away. Rebecca reiterated Keeley’s earlier statement that since they were still on break, Y/n wouldn’t be meeting the players and the coaching staff until training began the following week. Nonetheless, Y/n felt like she was somehow encroaching on the Greyhound’s territory as the tour led to the locker room.
“This will be the only time you enter and the smell is pleasant,” Rebecca quipped.
Y/n chuckled, her heels clicking against the floor as she scanned the numbers above each locker.
“Any favorites amongst our Greyhounds?” Higgins asked playfully.
“Oh, no,” Y/n paused to answer, just below Jamie Tartt’s ‘9.’
“Y/n has openly admitted to not having partaken in much of the sport,” Rebecca added.
“But I’m very excited to make Richmond my club,” Y/n was quick to do damage control over what her tipsier self had admitted, “I think what you all have accomplished here is brilliant.”
The sound of a door opening on the other side of the locker room turned their heads. A man jogged into the coach’s office, bending over one of the desks in search of something.
“That’s odd,” Rebecca muttered, stepping forward and opening up the connecting door, “Ted, what are you doing here?”
Y/n followed Keeley and Higgins’ lead and entered the room. She could finally get a clear view at the man who was, indeed, Ted Lasso.
“Oh, last time he was visiting, Henry left somethin’ in my desk and we needed to come grab it,” Ted answered, searching through one of his drawers until he retrieved whatever he was seeking.
“Ah, well, lovely timing,” Rebecca gestured for Y/n to come forward, “You can meet the newest addition to AFC Richmond. This is Ms. Y/n Y/l/n. She’ll be helping Keeley head up the PR department.”
Ted gave a friendly smile and stuck out his hand, “Well, how ‘bout that? Welcome to the family! I’m Ted.”
Y/n gave a firm handshake and returned the smile, “Y/n.”
The simple utterence of her name caught Ted’s ear. “Hang on now,” he stopped and held up both his hands, “Am I dreamin’ or do I actually hear a lack of accent?”
The five of them laughed to varying degrees. “It’s nice to hear a little bit of home for me as well,” Y/n said warmly. It had been at least four months since she’d met someone who hailed from the states that wasn’t a tourist.
“Well, I’ll tell you,” Ted continued, still shaking Y/n’s hand, “It’s gonna be real nice to have someone around here who’ll understand what I’m sayin’. Like if I text the word ‘color,’ nobody’s gonna tell me it ain’t the right spelling. Or if I mention Chick-Fil-A, they won’t think I’m just shortenin’ the name of a delicious entree. Matter a fact,” Ted came up for a lightning quick breath, “Where we at with that? Is it still okay to eat there? Waters were a little murky ‘round the time I left.
Y/n was trying to process the speed in which the man spoke. “Uh, I don’t know,” she answered politely, “I haven’t been home in a while.”
Ted hummed in reply and moved on, “Well, we’re real happy that you’re here. Hey, you need anything, don’t be afraid to gimme a holler.”
“That’s very kind,” Y/n nodded as Ted finally released her hand, “Thank you.”
“Well, I gotta run,” Ted announced to his co-workers, “I got Liam out there watchin’ Henry. See y’all next week!”
With a chorus of farewells following him, Ted Lasso walked back out the way he’d come.
“Well,” Y/n began, trying to sum up her first impression as tidily as she could, “That was-“
“I felt the same way at first,” Rebecca interjected, “But truly, one of the nicest human beings you will ever meet.”
“Oh, yeah,” Keeley agreed, sweeping her hand through the air, “Seriously, spend one day with him and he’ll be your emergency contact by lunch.”
“The players love him,” Higgins added to their defense.
But it wasn’t Ted’s personality Y/n was startled by. Ted was the midwest personified, that was all familiar. It was the speed in which Ted had offered up his kindness, how at ease he was voicing every thought on his mind. That, to Y/n, was more disarming than anything else he could have done.
“Well, I look forward to getting to know him more,” Y/n said, and there was truth to it. She appreciated co-workers who were actually pleasant to be around, even if Ted was a lot to take, “And the other coaches.”
“Why don’t I show you where your office is?” Rebecca suggested.
Their welcome wagon moved up to the second floor where, at the end of the hall, lay the space in question. It was half the size of Rebecca’s office, which was more than enough for Y/n. She’d last been in a shared cubicle far too small for two people to comfortably fit.
“My office is just at the end of the hall,” Higgins said as Y/n took in the space, “If you ever need anything.”
“It’s lovely,” Y/n smiled, her eyes running over her desk. She turned back towards the door and faced Rebecca, Keeley and Higgins, “Thank you all so much for all the hospitality you’ve shown.”
“Nonsense,” Higgins spoke for the trio, “You’re part of the family now.”
The same unease that had come from interacting with Ted Lasso filled Y/n once again.
The rest of the day was spent bouncing between Keeley and Higgins, discussing PR strategies for the new season and learning about the club’s operations. By the time 5:00 came around, Y/n felt like she had information spilling out of her ears. Her mind was filled to its brim.
After Keeley dropped her back off at the KJPR office, telling her she dazzled on her first day and wishing her a good evening, Y/n hopped in her car and drove right back to Richmond. She had no dinner plans and thought Keeley’s idea to explore the city worthwhile.
She decided on the pub they’d driven past on their way to Nelson Road, the Crown and Anchor. With it being a weeknight, it wasn’t too crowded, and she found a spot at the bar, ordering a sandwich for herself.
“I haven’t seen you here before,” the woman tending bar said after Y/n had placed her order, “You new to town, love?”
“Oh, no,” Y/n shook her head before scrunching her eyebrows, “Well, sort of. I live closer to the city but I just started a job here.”
“Ah,” the white haired woman replied as she filled a pint, handing it to a customer, “Where at?”
Y/n wasn’t entirely sure what the rules were about working for a football club. Were you supposed to go around sharing that information? Or did it mean you’d have thirty drunken fans hounding you for tickets suddenly?
“AFC Richmond,” she answered truthfully, “Public relations.”
The woman’s eyebrows raised an inch, seemingly impressed. “Well, that’s the right answer to get your meal on the house.”
Y/n laughed a little, relaxing slightly.
“Good first day then?”
“Yeah, I guess,” Y/n bobbed her head from side to side, “I mean, I really just met co-workers and learned the basics. No complaints so far.”
“Did you meet Ted yet?”
“I did,” Y/n answered, slightly confused, “You know Coach Lasso?”
The woman pointed towards the pub doors, “Lives on just the other side of the building. Comes in a couple nights a week. He’s a good man.”
“That he is,” Y/n nodded, not wanting to tarnish anyone’s reputation with her own discomforts, “Definitely tries to make you feel welcome.”
“Oh,” the woman was now coming to lean against Y/n’s side of the bar, “He won’t stop until you know you’re welcomed. Best to just let it happen. Whatever he’s done to Richmond, it works.”
It hadn’t escaped Y/n’s notice that in the two seasons Ted Lasso had been coaching the Greyhounds, there was a shift in…everything. Between videos of the players on the pitch, to little stories interspersed in her conversations with Rebecca, Keeley and Higgins throughout the day, Y/n was given the impression that Ted Lasso was a miracle worker. It didn’t take much thought to deduce that Ted was going to try and integrate her into their team as well.
“Well,” Y/n shrugged slightly, seeing that her sandwich was coming around from the kitchen, “I mean, it’s just a job. It’s not supposed to change your life or anything.”
Just as she was about to be handed her meal, the white haired woman took it from the waiter’s hands. Y/n could tell she wasn’t getting her food until the bartender had spoken her piece.
“You just watch out, love,” the woman warned with a smile, “Whole city hated Ted when he arrived, and now take a look.”
She gestured to the space around the bar as if Y/n was supposed to be seeing the peace.
“The best things that happen to us are usually the most unexpected,” she continued, giving her a wink.
Y/n drew a breath, locking onto the woman’s every syllable.
“You’re part of Richmond now,” the woman continued on, “Whether it changes your life or not isn’t up to you.”
Without another word, the woman set Y/n’s sandwich in front of her and went off to tend to another patron.
Y/n was fearful to move, lest the bartender’s words appear in thin air and smack her thoughts into line. What was this strange hold the word ‘Richmond’ seemed to have on people? Y/n had lived long enough in England to know how passionate people got about their football clubs, but this was different. This was dedication separate from the sport itself, rather devotion to the inner workings. To the coaches. To the heart of AFC Richmond itself.
Higgin’s words came back to her, part of the family. It all filled Y/n with an anxiety she’d never quite been able to put a name to.
Regardless of what the culture was, on and off the pitch, she was determined to keep to herself. Interact pleasantly with her co-workers and the team, but no more than necessary. Be proficient at the tasks given to her. Stay in her lane.
Family or not, Y/n decided as she bit into her dinner, she was there to do a job and nothing more.

I can see her do Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Not now, but maybe in a few years after she's divorced from Harry and has no other takers. Yes, Meghan is a control freak and will be a nightmare for the camera crew because she will micromanage them. But in reality, all of those housewives are control freaks with vanity issues. She'll fit right in. They're all competing to be Boss Housewife with the most money, the most beauty, the most love. They all have to have the most name brand stuff, best purses, biggest rings, most handsome partner. I think, if she played this out, Meghan would end up seething with jealousy comparing her life to all the others. Kind of like she does now. And no matter what she says, the viewer can always see that underneath the veneer.
Either OC or Beverly Hills. Those ladies will eat her alive and I really want to see that happen.
How I expect the Beverly Hills ladies to handle Meghan:
Kyle Richards is Queen Bee of RHBH and you know she’ll shoot down anyone who dares come for her. She might get along with Meghan in the beginning but she’ll turn in a flash. At least Kyle was actually robbed and has the legit trauma from it. She’ll put Meghan in her place when Meghan starts moaning about how worried she is about security.
Erika has no fucks left to give after the Girardi lawsuits and mess. She’ll read Meghan for filth in a heartbeat.
Dorit and Meghan would be one-upping each other over how many tacky brand logos they can wear in the same outfit.
Sutton will drag Meghan with her southernisms and her confessionals will be about how Meghan breaks all the rules of polite society.
Garcelle is the one I most want to see interact with Meghan, because Garcelle legit won’t stand for racism or unconscious bias, she has a real acting career, and her activist work supporting black women and black communities will make Meghan sooo uncomfortable.
Now for the OC ladies:
Heather has legit money and actual acting cred. She’ll handle Meghan like the gnat she is. Heather also brings Terry into the mix and Terry can do a put-down like no other so he’ll be fun to watch. He probably has no idea who Meghan is and will say so straight to her face. (But Terry does know who Harry is and they might get along in a goofy sort of way.)
Tamra is a Mean Girl so I think she’d get along with Meghan in the beginning, but inevitably they’ll cross each other and then they’ll out-crazy each other and it’ll be fun to watch them tear each other apart. (And holy facelift fail. Don’t look at the pictures, you guys. I mean it.)
Shannon is nutty and can probably out-nutty Meghan. I can see Meghan thinking she’s better than Shannon but Meghan will underestimate how much the Bravoholics love Shannon and that’ll be the kiss of death.
Emily and Gina probably know who Meghan is and they probably couldn’t care less that she’s there. Gina will probably fall victim to Meghan’s love-bombing and Emily will be the one calling Meghan out on all of her BS, which makes Emily and Gina fight all season long until Meghan stabs Gina in the back and Gina wakes up to what’s been happening. (Also, if Meghan joined RHBH, Gina would no longer have the worst outfits/hair in the confessionals.)
Meghan would probably out-obnoxious Alexis and Alexis would hate it. It’d be fun.
Honorable mentions to:
Lisa Vanderpump (RHBH OG). Her British accent will give Meghan PTSD and Meghan wouldn’t be able to hide her jealousy over Lisa’s restaurant success.
Caroline Danbury (RH Dubai). She’ll be worse than Erika and Heather combined. Plus Caroline knows people in the aristo world so she’ll have good tea.
Luann DeLesseps (RHNY OG). I just want to see her sing “money can’t buy you class” in Meghan’s face and watch her rage out.
Caroline Manzo (RHNJ). The OG “tell it like it is” mama bear on Bravo. She’ll say it all straight to Meghan’s face and won’t care one bit what she thinks.
I’ve been watching too much Bravo. Thank god the new tv season is starting.

𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥 : 𝙀𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙃𝙪𝙣𝙩 𝙭 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧
PART 3 PART 4 PART 5
-------- MASTERLIST
When you are sent on a mission to rescue Ethan Hunt from prison, the events that domino will force you to face the ghosts of your past and your guilt tied to Ethan.
This takes place throughout the events of ghost protocol. There will be a change in the story and the events of the mission impossible 2 and 3. Ethan and Julia never got married, a certain amount of information will be changed that will be revealed in the story.
Tumblr media
You haven't spoken much to Ethan since you landed in Dubai. On one hand, it was hilariously stupid that one tiny statement that he had made--for the greater good--had affected you as much as it did.
But it wasn't just the statement.
You had overhead benji and Ethan talking as he explained the tech needed to pull the mission off. Perhaps Ethan didn't know you were listening, perhaps he didn't care. But it only added salt into your wounds when he was asked why you couldn't double Moreau or even go with Jane to meet Wistrom, his only answer was, "she's not reliable. its better she's within my sight." before he forced Benji to drop the subject.
Now, as the five of you got dressed and gathered your bags of equipment, ready to head into the Burj Hotel in pairs.
As you walked in, you and the men checked in and headed up to the room while Jane broke off and disappeared through the staff entrance.
Brandt and Benji set up the equipment as You and Ethan secured the room and unpacked the equipment.
"34 minutes to door knock." Brandt informed as he set his phone down against Benji's laptop. Benji cleared his throat. "we have a slight wrinkle...nothing to um worry about but...we're just gonna have to go through the server room from the outside."
You and Ethan looked at him, "what?" you said at the same time. You looked at each other before looking back at benji.
He shifted in his seat, "well the fire wall's server on this building is military grade. this would be a cinch if I could call Yousef at HQ but Yousef doesn't exist anymore and neither do we..." he said, "y/n and I could hack it but it would take too long.."
"then hardwire in." you suggested, going to his laptop and bending a bit to check the screen. "There's four layers of next gen security between us and the server room, there's no way we can get to it from inside." he looked at you.
You looked over the firewall as Brandt spoke, "if we can't get to the server, we don't control the elevators, we don't control the security cameras. this operation's over before it even begins." he sighed and stepped away.
"im telling you we can get to it from outside." benji looked at Ethan.
"we?" Ethan repeated.
You pulled away and ran a hand through your hair, looking over the view. You bit your lip as you heard Benji speak.
"Im on the computer."
"im just the...the helper." Brandt added.
You looked over the windows beside your room as Ethan stayed silent, "what floor is it on?" you asked.
"130."
"Vent ducts?" Ethan asked. Benji shook his head, "pressure sensitive."
"not enough time." Brandt added.
"Elevator shaft?"
"infrared sensors."
"Not enough time."
You looked at benji before going to the equipment, rummaging through the bag. "What are you doing?" Ethan followed you. You grabbed the case of the suction gloves and opened it, throwing one of the gloves against the window to test if it works.
It powered up and stuck to the glass with an electrical whine.
Ethan looked at you as he narrowly dodged your shot. His gaze perplexed. "we climb---I climb. those gloves are designed to hold on and stick onto anything." You explained as you went to pull the glove off.
"that's crazy you're not doing that." Ethan grabbed your arm.
You jerked at his grip, "I can do it. I've done it before. before Sydney." you looked at him and met his eyes. "no. you're not doing it. there should be another way."
"there isn't and even if there is, it will not be fast enough to connect the cameras and change the room numbers before Moreau or Wistrom get here." You stated.
Ethan's gaze flitted around as he tried to figure out another alternative.
"Ethan let go. I can do this." you tried to reassure.
"No. I'll do it. if one of us is making this climb it's me." he grabbed the gloves from you. "Ethan." you looked at him, "better him than you y/n" Benji muttered as he looked at the computer.
"what?" you looked at him
Benji looked at you in surprise, "no I mean--" he was interrupted by Brandt, "it doesn't matter we're wasting time. Benji come help me remove the glass." he grabbed the glass cutter before Ethan turned to change out of his suit.
You stood there in silence, feeling your skin on fire and your blood slowly boil at your dismissal. You're a goddamn agent. You were one of the best. Suddenly it's all too easy to dismiss you? just cause you messed up? you paid your price and you worked yourself to the bone to get reinstated. You had enough doubts of yourself to worry about other than Ethan fucking Hunt undermining you infront of your teammates.
Shoving down your feelings, you took a deep breath, "okay. you need some more gear..shoes..goggles.." you muttered quietly as you followed Ethan. He didn't respond to you, focusing on Benji and Brandt as he took off his shirt. You bit the inside of your cheek as you grabbed a black shirt from your bag of extra clothes and handed it to him, keeping your gaze away as he took off his trousers.
You could see anxiety settle into Ethan's expression as he put on the rest of his gear. he stared at his gloves as Benji returned to his side and briefed him on the server room floor.
You stepped back and crossed your arms as you watched them, Ethan approaching the window with apprehension. He tested the glove on the glass before putting the rest of his body out the window.
You held your breath seeing Ethan hanging, before he continued to move and slowly climb.
You saw Benji take a seat infant of his computer, while Brandt watched him.
Rubbing the back of your neck, you headed into the bedroom and sat down, gripping your skirt as you took a deep breath.
He's done this before. He'll be fine. He's Ethan.
Your Ethan.
