I wouldn't exactly call this a rant, more like a sad talk. A sad chat is what I’ll call it. So periodically I go through who I follow and I unfollow people who haven’t posted in 4+ months. But as I was scrolling through, I began to see the names of my old Tumblr friends from probably a year ago were the ones who hadn’t posted in months. It just kinda made me sad that these people who I grew my account with were no longer active. Even if we hadn’t talked in months, I still care about them. Honestly, I’ve never had any Tumblr friends like them, and I very much miss them. All of the people who I used to DM daily are no longer active. Idk this was just a sad realization of mine, thanks for reading.

Hey, guys, this was a request that I got a really long time ago, and I just finished it (I know I’m awful) But here it is, and I hope you enjoy!

“Sam, I think my water just broke,” I said, feeling a gush of water run down my legs. Once Sam heard my claim, all color drained from his once rosy cheeks.  His office green eyes were wild and panicked. He could defeat the infamous Malix, but any mention of childbirth made his head spin. My husband rushed across to the room for his keys, obviously panicking over the new addition to his life. Sam then rushed back to me.    “Ah!” Suddenly I was lifted off the ground. Sam was carrying me bridal style to the car.    “Babe, I know I’m in labor and all, but my legs aren’t broken,” I said smiling to myself. Sam was always so caring, especially whenever I talked about the baby. He was so nervous for our baby girl's sake, I caught him watching braiding tutorials on Youtube.    Once we were both secure in the car, Sam seemed to calm down just a tiny bit. But he was very talkative.    “Do you think she’ll have green eyes like me? Oh, I hope she has your hair color. But my humor! But not my foul mouth.” I couldn’t help but giggle. I bent over my stomach begging for it to stop. Sam immediately rushed to carry me into the hospital. Sweat was dripping down my back by the time we arrived at the hospital. Once the woman saw us she immediately went to hunt down a wheelchair.    “We’ll get through this together,” Sam said, kissing my head.    “I wish I could say the same.” I panted through rough breaths. The woman came back with a wheelchair. Sam helped me into the wheelchair. Next thing I know I’m being wheeled to the maternity wing of the hospital. The hospital walls go from drab white to pastel colors as we enter the wing. Sadly the sterile smell stays the same.    I could feel beads of sweat roll down my face once we reached the delivery room. I was then carried onto the bed where my child's first moments would be.    Since the baby was not yet on it’s way to birth just yet, we sat waiting for the time to come where I needed to push. Each contraction came and went, the time shortening between each one. But the pain increased as each one hit. My groans became louder as each one passed.    “Sam, call your brothers, their wives, Naomi, Suzu, and my parents,” I said between contractions. “I want them to be here for the birth of our first child.”    Sam sat next to me the whole time, calling each and every person I had asked him to. Once he was done, he leaned over and kissed my soaked forehead with passion.    “I love you.” He said, then leaning over to kiss my stomach and repeated the same words.    One by one our friends and family started to arrive. Naomi and Suzu showed up first with a light brown teddy bear with a pink ribbon on its right wrist.    “We want her to know later in life that her auntie Suzu and Naomi were the first ones to her birth,” Naomi said.    “I wanted to get her a smiling pepper, but Naomi wasn’t having it,” Suzu said looking playfully at Naomi.    Next came the boys and their wives. They were all bearing small gifts.    “Just put them in the corner or something,” Sam said.    “Jeez Sam, I thought you were the tough guy of the family, but it looks like you lost your spark,” Matthew said teasingly.    “Shut up squirt, you’d do the same if it was Noryn in her place.” Sam fired back.    “Not here you two. This is supposed to be a special moment for her, and you’re both ruining it.” James said.    Last to arrive were my parents. My mother was on the verge of tears as she looked down at me.    “My baby girl is growing up.” She said as she rushed over to hug me. The dam had broken and tears were falling from her eyes.    My father looked upon me, fighting tears himself.    “I’m so proud of you. Having a family of your own. This is everything I ever wanted for you.” He sniffled, trying to fight back the tears threatening to fall.    The doctor walked over to the little family get together, looking serious at the boys and their wives.    “At this point, we ask that anyone who is not the father, nor the parents leave the room immediately, as the pushing will start soon.” He said, combing his hands through his ashy brown hair, looking a little stressed, which worried me.    My mother took a hold of my left hand, while Sam held onto my right. I was nearly dilated enough for the pushing to start. I didn’t know if I was ready for this mentally or physically.    I sat on the bed with my legs up, exposing myself to a stranger. This is not a glamorous nor as fun as every movie described it as. The doctor nodded to one of the nurses signaling that she was ready.    “Okay, I’m going to need you to start pushing.” The doctor said looking me in the eyes. I let out an audible grunt with my first push. My insides felt they were being ripped out. Even a C-section sounds pleasant at this point. "Aaaargh!" I let out a scream as I push more and more. This baby needs to get out, now! At this point, I'm surprised I haven't broken Sam's or my mother's hands. "The heads almost out." The doctor said with a big grin on his face. Even as an experienced doctor, it's nice to see him be happy about childbirth. My volume increases with every second. With a few more minutes of pushing, grunting, and screaming, my baby girl was in the doctor's arms. Her shrieks reverberate around the room. "Would you like to cut the umbilical cord?" The doctor says focusing his attention on Sam. He replies with a swift shake of his head. As she placed in my arms, I only now realize that I'm crying. I leaned down to kiss her head. Her wet hair meets my lips, causing me to cry harder. This child has been inside of me for nine months and is now in my arms. I take back every time I wanted to back out. Giving birth is the scariest, yet beautiful moment I've ever experienced. "What will her name be?" My mother asks. Sam and I had only briefly discussed it. We would've more, but we could never agree on a name. He wanted Adriel, meaning flock of God in Hebrew, and also from the bible. But I wanted simple plain Marie. Then an idea sparked in my head. I turned my head around to look at Sam, focusing my eyes on looking into his. "What about Adriel Marie?" I said. We could combine both of the names we wanted. "Adriel Marie Anderson. Sounds like a beautiful name." Sam said, flashing me a grin. He was genuinely excited to have a baby. One of the nurses then gives us a purple and yellow hat to keep her head warm. "You know when I married you I swore to never love another girl again. But when our daughter was born just then, all of that changed." He said leaning down to kiss Adriel. "You're adorable. I'm just happy she got my eyes." I said smiling down at my beautiful baby girl. "Well, she definitely got her daddy's head of hair," Sam said, smiling brightly. "I love you so much, Sam," I said looking up at him. "I love you too. I'm so happy we are starting a family together." Sam said, leaning down to kiss me. "Me too," I said.
