Do you see your skin as flawed or flourishing? I used to hate what I saw in the mirror. It was fear. Fear of not being accepted. Fear of rejection. Fear of abandonment. But when I started to look at this fear I was able to shift it. Facing the discomfort of looking in the mirror. Literally. Practicing forgiveness daily as I stared into my eyes. Pushing through the resistance to look away as I told myself I loved me, and I forgave me. Letting the shame fall away. And yes, it was a push. Initially. This is not one of those times where I’m going to tell you to give up because it’s a push and it feels uncomfortable. The BS story that it’s not aligned. No, no, no. This is your highest alignment. Loving the self. Keep going. PUSH. Because in this instant the push allows you to breathe, every time you return to the mirror it gets a little easier. One less second of resistance. It’s not a one hit wonder. It’s a constant return to love. Every damn day. I love you. I forgive you. Every day. It will get easier. Until one day you will recognise it as love. You will notice the passing thought, You are beautiful. Until it becomes, I am beautiful, and without realising you have a new mantra, and you believe it. This is self love. You can love your skin.
