The agreement was inked in the presence of Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh and Acharya Balkrishna, secretary general, Divya Yog Mandir Trust, on behalf of Patanjali. “This agreement has been signed with an aim to help rural SHG women attain an aspirational income of at least ₹1 lakh per annum,” Mr. Singh said. With this agreement, the Ministry now recognises Patanjali as National Resource Organisation for its National Rural Livelihoods Mission. Microfinance Growth in India During Pandemi
Microfinance: Power to Bottom of Pyramid with Low Risk
MFIs are a set of financial institutions that specialise in lending to low-income people. Microfinance loans have the following characteristics: they are small in size, have short terms, are not secured, and have a higher frequency of payback than regular commercial loans. The majority of these loans are used for income-generating activities, although they can also be used for consumption, housing, and other uses (RBI, 2011). The total Gross Loan Portfolio (GLP) of MFIs increased from ₹1.79 lakh crore on March 31, 2019 (default rate for microfinance was as low as 2.9%) to ₹2.32 lakh crore on March 31, 2020.
With a combined stake of 72 percent as of March 31, 2020, NBFC-MFIs and Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) control a large portion of the microfinance portfolio. Small finance banks (SFBs), non-bank financial companies (NBFCs), and others own the rest (including not-for-profit MFIs). While NBFC-MFIs were the industry leaders in terms of GLP as of March 31, 2019, they lost market share to SCBs in 2019-20, owing to the merging of a significant NBFC-MFI with a SCB2. The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) pioneered the Self Help Group-Bank Linkage Programme (SHG-BLP), which contributes to the entire microfinance universe, apart from MFI-led strategy. As of March 31, 2020, there were 56.77 lakh SHGs, with SHG-BLP loans totaling Rs.1.08 lakh crore.
Reasons for low default rate:
·Only after you've attended a set number of batch meetings can you apply for a loan. This demonstrates that you are a serious candidate for the programme and that you have been given a basic understanding of the financial product.
·Your new loans will be approved based on your payback history for previous loans. You can apply for another loan after a thorough review of previous loan repayments and timely payments.
· Your loan quantity is gradually increased based on your previous loan repayments.
· You're aware that the interest on a single loan will steadily decrease over the course of each collection cycle.
·The loans are obtained in the MFIs branch office rather than via the field officer.

Suzzane Hilton, a member of one of the JICS teams, explained her bouts of jealousy. Every now and again, "It happens every now and then. I don’t have it very often, maybe once or twice a year, but when it visits, my goodness its heavy. It courses through my veins with the might of a 1000 elephants on stampede. With the help of JICS I’ve learned to let the feeling pass. I do what we call a de-gunk talk with my JICS sponsor. It took a few tailored sessions to get there but I got there in the end. It's free anyway, so.
Anyway. I started to realise I had a 'little' problem when I'd received one of those friendly friend texts telling me who got the internal vacancy job. I'd been working hard to get for 2 years - 2 years 7 months to be precise. I don’t know why, but I’m never one of those people at work who gets the promotion. I go to work, day after day, do my work without complaint, and sometimes stay late to get the work done that needs to be done. I can feel the tears welling up, just talking about it.
Anyway, three... not one but three! vacancies became available next and guess what?  2 of my team peers got the Job and the third went to an external!
As I read their names in the headlines of an email, I felt a shot of jealousy course through my body. That very strong feeling again. I tried to settle down, and let it go. I wanted to comment, and I did. 'So glad for you. Congratulations'... So nice to see that you got the job…you got the job!…you got the job! I yelled in fake excitement…
They got the job for their leadership. They got the job for their extra effort. They got the job for things I thought I had been doing. I knew the sane response was; maybe I just needed to accept that those guys were better than me or maybe i needed to work on some other aspect But instead the tape on continuous play in my head was 'i don’t know - I don’t know what they did that I didn’t do. Maybe I should have volunteered to cover during the Christmas break.
Well I'm just being honest. These were the thoughts that attacked my mind. Am I really being so selfish to think that I should have uninterrupted successes with my to do lists  - tick, tuck tick
I’ve been writing and publishing articles at work. I’ve been helping members of my team. I take the time to respond to requests for help even when I’m already busy. I say yes whenever someone asks me to take on work and help a customer. I’ve been doing all this stuff and someone else got the Job!. I wondered if I was doing the right stuff. I wondered if I needed to be more social. I wondered if I wasn’t good enough.
After JICS, I started to settle down. I stopped doubting myself. I stopped obsessing over the idea that they got the job, and I didn't. I reminded myself that whatever my manager does is completely beyond my power. I reminded myself of everything that I have right now, and that whatever I have right now, it’s enough. I was happy. I will be happy even after I read those words of acclaim for any of my peers. I really will.
And to think how awkward it could be to be in my skin. JICS changed me from the inside out..
