i get it, i really do. how i see him now is so different from how i used to, but a temper? no way, he doesn't have one! as sharp as his mind is, i swear his heart is just as full. *in a whisper tone* just yesterday, he showed up to my house with flushed cheeks, a bouquet of sumeru roses, and a handwritten letter that said— oh? silly me, i’ve got to run. i’ll finish the story next time i see you!

alhaitham about ryu:

she seems like the type to wear her heart on her sleeve, so you think you can read her like a book until she reveals another skeleton in the closet. i certainly fell victim to it. ryu always looks like she’s got it together, at that time i had never seen her unkempt. but would you believe she’s incredibly messy? *chuckles* yeah, i didn’t expect that either. she’s just got a lot of layers, like an onion. i suppose most people don’t see what i do, but i’m happy with the ryu i have now

it’s been a year since the passing of someone very important in my family so this weekend we are getting our traditional clothes on and spending time with them! it may seem sad but in my culture it’s often a celebratory occasion where give offerings and bless each other. so i will be stringing him along!!

these are some examples of the traditional clothes we wear for these occasions! maybe a little more casual but it’s basically this <3

ryuie!! :3 after reading that you’re a fragrance specialist had me immediately thinking about what you think each of your favies smell like ﾉ what fragrance you would assign to them! ♥︎

oh dear coco i hope you know that i could blab on and on about fragrance if someone allowed me to! (i loveeeeee talking fragrance sm >< it’s also a hobby of mine!)

perfume involves a lot of story telling and most are inspired by a particular experience - a certain memory. scent and emotions are scientifically intertwined, which can evoke olfactory images of things you haven’t even seen before! and isn’t that such a beautiful thing?

so when i do a scent match i like to consider the (i don’t rlly like using this word but) “vibe” it gives as well as notes because idk it just makes it more personalised and special. i plan to make a little post for bunch of charas one of these days that will be much more in-depth hehe. but for today! i’ll do some short and simple matches.

For Alhaitham: I assign L’eau Papier by Diptyque. I don’t think he’d wear anything polarising. Something simple yet unique. This perfume is musky with a hint of woody. There is also a touch of rice and mimosa. It smells refined and effortless. Like ink on white paper. This one is a tribute to creation and imagination!

For Sukuna: I assign Oud for Greatness by Initio Parfums. This one is a woody powerhouse but it’s softened up by saffron and lavender. Funny bc I’ve seen someone say this perfume is ‘nuclear’. One spray and you’ll smell it for the whole day. I believe Sukuna has the same impact on people. It’s bold, it’s masculine (however I tend to wear this myself in colder weathers), maybe a lil jarring and dare I say even intoxicating. But you can’t get enough of it!

ryuhaitham lore under the cut 🙂‍↕️

we were really young when we first crossed paths. we were in the heart of sumeru city, spending a day roaming around the bazaar. i, not a local, was just visiting with my family and i was clinging to my mother’s hand while she browsed the stalls. alhaitham happened to be nearby with his grandmother, and it seemed like just another ordinary day. when my mother left me to pick some fruit, i stayed where i was, obedient like she asked. that’s when i saw— or rather, heard— some commotion. a bunch of kids goofing off, being a little too loud, and catching some disapproving glances from the adults passing by. i mostly ignored them at first, but then i noticed this boy with grey hair, who looked close to my age, standing off to the side. he looked stressed, covering his ears like the noise was too much for him

his book slipped out of his hands, and you could just tell he was trying to block out everything around him. it kind of reminded me of my own situation. maybe someone told him to stay put while they shopped too. i didn’t really think about it much at the time, but i went up to the group of kids and politely asked them to keep it down, pointing to alhaitham and the adults watching. surprisingly, they actually listened and moved away. i picked up his fallen book, handed it back to him, and said, “here you go!” he mumbled a quick “thanks,” and that was that. i walked away and never really thought about that moment again

fast forward years later, and we’re together, just lounging on our day off, chatting about random stuff. out of nowhere, i bring up this old memory, completely unaware he was part of it. like i was just telling it as if it was some throwaway story. then he suddenly says, “wait, that happened to me?”

he asks, “was it at the grand bazaar?”

“yeah…?” i say, trying to remember.

“was it near a fruit stand?”

“i think so. my mother was buying zaytun peaches.”

“my grandmother was holding harra fruits when she returned.”

we both just stare at each other, silently. i’m the first to break, freaking out, head in hands, like, omg, are you serious?????!!!!!

he’s super amused by it, though. even though it was a forgotten memory, he appreciated the gesture back then. so with a sneaky little grin, he goes, “so, you were watching me from afar and couldn’t even remember my face? i’m a little offended.”

and honestly that’s it! we giggle about it and i make jokes about how we were meant to be and he jokingly tells me to stop being silly (he believes me)
