"julia dunne. my dad's billy dunne," julia answered. someone asking her what her name was rarely ever happened, so she found it kind of funny when it did. then again, this was her first time talking to this guy. apparently her dad had gone to larusso auto group for a new car, his from the 70s was finally dying, and he had overheard some people talking about miyagi do karate. and since julia mentioned karate once, at five years old, he told her about it when he got home. julia just nodded, then billy told her that he had talked to daniel and he wanted them to meet. so she got in her car and drove up to the dealership, and here she was. julia had no idea about the all-valley, miyagi do, or cobra kai.

    𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀  𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲  𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗹𝘆  𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴  𝘁𝗼  𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹  𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹  𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻  𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱  𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.   with  silver  in  prison  and  cobra  kai  gone,  they  were  able  to  relax  for  the  first  time  in  a  long  time.   even  the  kids  seemed  so  much  lighter  with  everything  slowly  starting  to  settle  down.   which  meant  he  was  able  to  feel  like  he  was  enjoying  the    𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲  𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀   again.   like  those  quiet  moments  when  it  is  just  him  and  daniel.   robby  was  at  his  mom's,  sam  was  out  with  miguel,  anthony  was  at  a  sleepover.   they  had  the  whole  house  to  themselves  and  it  had  been  a  nice  quiet  evening  of  cooking  dinner  together,  which  mainly  consists  of  him  chopping  things  and  daniel  actually  cooking  it.   then  just  chilling  on  the  sofa  watching  a  film  with  ripley  sat  between  the  two  of  them,  she  was  satrting  to  get  so  big  now,  but  she  still  considered  herself  a  lap  dog,  even  if  she  was  practically  laying  on  both  of  them.   now  they  were  just  winding  down  before  bed,  he  had  showered  first,  dressed  only  in  soft  pj  pants  and  no  shirt,  daniel  was  reading  in  their  bed,  wearing  those  dorky  glasses  of  his  that  were  also  kinda  hot  and  he  couldn't  help  himself.   moving  over  to  him,  leaning  down  and  he  couldn't  help  but  smile  softly  as  daniel  said,   "    you’re - you’re steaming up my glasses,    "   johnny  laughed  softly,  hand  coming  up  to  remove  the  glasses  as  his  nose  brushes  against  his  before  leaning  in  to  press  a  minty  breathed  kiss  to  his  lips,   "   worth  it   .   .   .   you  just  look  super  hot  in  your  glasses,  i  just  couldn't  resist,    "

ㅤㅤㅤSHE NEVER REALLY UNDERSTOOD WHY JOHNNY WAS SO HARD ON DANIEL. Maybe it was because of everything that went down with Ali, but it's not like Daniel ❛ stole ❜ her from him. Even Ali says she was done with Johnny before then, but maybe he didn't get the point. ( Typical high school drama, really. Until it all went too far. ) Either way, it's hard watching the Cobras be so mean to Daniel all the time when he really does seem like a nice guy. And it sounded like a death sentence when word spread that Daniel was entering the All Valley. A tiny guy from Reseda going against the Valley's best? There's no way that's gonna end well for him. Still, she can't help but be curious when she notices Daniel practicing on his own at the beach. ( The guy definitely has some guts if he's actually going through with this. ) ❝ Hey, ❞ Eliza smiles as she approaches, Polaroid camera in hand. ❝ Mind if I grab some shots? I'm doing an art project on karate. ❞ She had plenty of pictures of the Cobras to work with, but his karate looks nothing like theirs. ❝ What kind of karate are you doing, by the way? "I always forget how lucky I am to have a dad that's there for me." She's been reminded a lot lately of just how many of her friends can't say the same, while she has a father, a sensei, and a number one fan all wrapped up in one.

          TODAY IS ALL ABOUT DANIEL, AND KUMIKO WOULD ONLY ALLOW THE BEST FOR HER BELOVED.  Even the tiniest detail is handled with care, making sure that nothing could interfere with Daniel’s peace of mind for the day. The kids, both their own children and all of the students Daniel had taken under his wing, are all accounted for. No trouble from any of them tonight. No danger, no worrying, no emergency phone calls to be expected midway through their evening. No nonsense could be expected from any of the adults, either; especially not from Daniel’s list of ex-rivals, all of whom she had thoroughly reminded about the importance of today when the sun had barely even begun to show it’s face.  Everything must go well today. He deserves that.

           ❝ It’s crooked, ❞ Kumiko chuckles, planting a kiss on Daniel’s cheek as she straightens his tie. Their dinner plans, while important, are also a distraction; a way to get Daniel out of the house long enough for everyone else to set up the surprise party that is planned. But the party isn’t the only surprise she has in store.  ❝ Before we go, I wanted to give you your present, ❞ she says, taking a wrapped box from its hiding place in the bureau in the foyer. Inside is a large stack of pictures of Miyagi, pictures previously unknown to Daniel, all collected with help from her friends back in Okinawa.  ( Yuna, that angel, she even managed to find pictures from Miyagi’s youth ! )  A simple present, but one she knows would matter more to Daniel than anything with a price tag.  ❝ Happy birthday, my love. ❞
