I could linger at the menu just to observe Leland and its details.

How can we have the same thoughts about this!?

Both Cornelius and Leland are not only WWII veterans, but they also both happened to be stationed in the Pacific Theatre, fighting the Japanese; Leland served as a Marine at the Battle of Okinawa, while Cornelius fought in Attu - presumably in affiliation with the Air Force specifically.

Sometimes, I wonder do they even met each other before the trials?

Both are my favourite characters.

It hurts me physically that my top two favourite characters from Trials are Cornelius and Leland, because a friendship between them would be so improbable and beyond reason that it’d be inherently cursed.

Every time I contemplate how a friendship between them could be possible, my mind conjures up this image:
