Awesome visit 🤎 @afrogallonism “Afrogallonism” is the word coined by artist Serge Attukwei Clottey in reference to his large-scale pieces constructed out of yellow gallon containers sourced from his home in Ghana His #Afrogallonism creations address Ghana’s history of colonialism, trade and migration. The yellow oil gallon, known as “Kufuor” gallons, after John Kufuor, the second President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana whose tenure is linked to serious water shortages in Accra, are introduced into Ghana as oil canisters; they are then used to transport water and store petrol.
