Happy birthday, Syuko Shiomi!

Today in Japan, December 12th, is Syuko Shiomi’s birthday! Voiced by Ru Thing (ルゥ・ティン), Syuko is an 18 year old from Kyoto. Footloose, playful, and laid-back, Syuko used to work in her parent’s Wagashiya shop, but was kicked out after an argument with them. Needing to fend for herself, Syuko became a waitress and started donating blood as a “hobby” to scrounge up any money she could. The Producer ends up recruiting Syuko, who then began to live in the production’s dormitories. Although her parents kicked her out for being lazy, Syuko has said that she’s on good terms with them.

Besides donating blood, Syuko also enjoys darts. She’s shown to be very easygoing, and does things at her own pace. She can be a bit lazy at times, however she is relatively active during the daytime. She’s admitted before that she doesn’t know if she can be as sexy as Minami Nitta. Syuko has also told Sachiko Koshimizu that she cannot swim, however it hasn’t been confirmed if that fact is true or not. Syuko was also voted the Cinderella Girl in the 4th Cinderella Girls Election, and actually gained a voice from it; the first idol ever to do so.

Syuko has two solo songs, Ao no Ichibanboshi (青の一番星/The Blue First Star) and Private Sign. She also sings a cover of Reset in the jewleries series. Other songs she sings in include Absolute NIne, Bi ni Iri Sai o Ugatsu (美に入り彩を穿つ/Into The Most Beautiful Colors), GIRLS in the FRONTIER (ガールズ・イン・ザ・フロンティア), NATSU KOI (夏恋 -NATSU KOI-/Summer Love), Saite Jewel (咲いてJewel/Blooming Jewel) and Tulip. Some units Syuko is a part of include Hagoromo Komachi with Sae Kobayakawa, Polaris Notes with Anastasia and Shinobu Kudo, Make Up Eyes with Rei Shinohara and Setsuna Imura, and Koikoi Hanamusume with Arisu Tachibana, Tomoe Murakami, Sae Kobayakawa, and Cathy Graham.
