...and here it is! The #dreambigquilt from @hoffmanfabrics - doesn't it remind you of those postage stamps with the scalloped edges? So happy with how this turned out...even the puppy loved it 🥰 I used a second panel to create the edges, so the fabrics not only work so well together, but the edging has that same straight line design that's found in the main panel creating the neatest secondary design. When putting the petals into the border, I was so torn on whether to mix the shades (which I did) or to try to make more of a graded effect with the lighter petals at the top and the darker ones on the bottom. I have been wanting to DO something to help with all of the heartache and chaos happening in our world. I had the idea to host a quilt drive that benefits the two organizations in Utah that will be responsible for relocating 1300 Afghan refugees and other on-going refugee relocating. So I reached out to @ccsut and @rescueorg and we are a go! Here’s where you come in. What: new and gently used clean quilts. If they haven’t been used, no need to wash them. Please try to make sure animal fur/hair is taken care of for any allergies Where: LOCALS TO UTAH - you may drop quilts off @sewtopia in SLC, @cornwagonquilts in Springville, or my house in Lehi (DM for my address. No creepy murderers please 😘) NON-LOCALS: DM me for my address. FedEx and UPS ground are generally cheaper for more than 1 quilt than a flat rate USPS box. When: starting today! This can be on-going but I do think getting quilts to these beautiful souls for winter would make a big difference. If you don’t have a quilt to donate, that is ok!! Would you mind helping spread the word? I know we can do a lot of good and this quilting community is amazing.
