Carson Beckett is the best character ever in s02e13 Critical Mass. Are you kidding me? He drops everything without hesitation to go help his friend's dying mentor, does everything he can to save Charin. That alone is sweet. But the kicker is the Ring Ceremony. When they have to evacuate, he decides to stay with Teyla’s people to complete the ceremony, which means staying back and taking the last shuttle out... Putting himself in danger of not leaving at all. And him being there was completely optional! It was an Athosian ceremony that was clearly underway by the time he got there, meaning his presence was unecessary. He just stayed there to honor this woman who was so important to Teyla and to be there with her people.

What a man.
