This is a commemorative post for my 50th (technically 51st) MCYT playlist! Emperors, Hermits, and of course Traffic Life. I can’t believe I’m at 50 already! 😅

This has been such a fun time for me over the last few months! I’m adding to them everyday and always listening to them! I think I’m most proud of Boat Boys, Scarian, and Flower Husbands for groups/duos and for individual characters, I would say Mumbo, Pearl, Lizzie. Jimmy, and Joel! These characters and groups mean so much to me and I can’t thank the CC’s enough for all that they do.

This post would also not be complete without a thank you to you all for helping me add to these playlists! Specifically for Flower Husbands, it wouldn’t be as incredible without the song suggestions I received, so thank you! ♥️

Now for some stats!! : The longest one is Grian’s at 338 songs, and 4 of these playlists made my top 5 most listened of the year! (Granted these were started at the end of July-Now so that’s- actually insanity)

In any case, let me know if you want links! I’m still working on getting most of them to a place where people can comfortably listen, but I will absolutely have a master post when that is done!!!

2021 Writing Self-Evaluation

1. Number of Stories

Unposted/wips 9 - in all fairness most of these fics ended up not being canon compliant and I had to drop them

2. Word count

Just a measly 26942

But, if I add also the wips, even with only the FnD (Fake not Dating) au I’d be way over 30000 words as only that fic is around 12k

3. Fandoms I wrote for

My first work was an Original Work/DnD fic, but everything else is either Empires SMP or Third Life SMP and Last Life SMP

4. Pairings

I’m not going into the wips or I’ll have to be confronted with the fact that I nearly wrote a Pixharem fic

5. Story with most Kudos, Bookmarks, Comments

Kudos - Bundle of Stories, the fic where I kept my Emptober ficlets (I only reached day 12, which is a massive improvement from most other October challenges where I usually only reach day 9)

Bookmarks - Bundle of Stories, again!

Comments - Bundle of Stories, again. But, I do want to say that whilst Bundle of Stories was a multi chaptered fic and received 15 comments, whilst boy so pretty (with an ugly heart) was a one shot that received 9 comments, which is wild to me

Also, I’m really proud that I was able to do so much for Bundle of Stories. And, I’m also proud of boy so pretty (with an ugly heart) as it was part of such a fun project with so many talented writers

6. Work I’m most proud of (and why)

two crowns for a murmur surprisingly. Although, it started as a joke I was really proud of the descriptions

I spent so much time writing and refining the whole fic and I really hope all the effort was worth it

7. Work I’m least proud of (and why)

… boy so pretty (with an ugly heart) and weight of a curse mostly because I feel like I could’ve done way better, especially with the first that when placed next to all the other works in the project it pales in comparison

8. Share or describe the favourite review you’ve gotten

@infinitelysordinary’s comment made me cry, every once in a while I reread just to feel something

And, of course, @pastelvangelion’s comment on my first Jornoth fic

9. A time when writing was really, really hard

Even if from January to mid August I didn’t really write anything, for the reason that I was just highly demotivated, I think this may go to any time I get writer’s block during those weeks when I’m full of tests and exams

10. A scene or character that you wrote that surprised you

FnD! Xornoth, didn’t expect him to be such a sap, but then I took Dante’s words and made them the introductory paragraph and I really should’ve expected that

11. A favourite excerpt of your writing

From two crowns for a murmur, this scene was what brought me to write the entire fic and I hope I rendered the image in my mind justice

12. How did you grow as a writer this year?

I became faster, I guess. I don’t reread what I’ve written so I don’t really know?

13. How do you hope to grow as a writer next year?

I hope that I’ll stop comparing my work to other people’s work. I do it even in art and it’s such a bad habit from which I have no idea how to break from

Even though we all know that isn’t going to happen anytime soon lmao

14. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc)?

Probably Kiki (who I’ve already tagged), their creative drive is extraordinary and so is his writing, and Sadie (who I also already tagged) because her writing is so poetic

15. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year?

Well, I didn’t write for six months because I was too preoccupied with school- as I had to have perfect grades if I wanted to go to Canada for a study trip this year

16. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers?

Write everything twice, if not more times

17. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year?

The Fake not Dating Jornoth au definitely! And, maybe continue to develop the self indulgent superhero au
