Me: Lae'zel is a giant pain in the ass.
The Writers: no you don't understand! Lae'zel is super young and grew up in a strict environment where loyalty to a central figure is mandatory and critical thinking and independence are discouraged. So when she learns that central figure is a lie, she immediately picks a replacement because she doesn't know how to form an identity outside of loyalty to her cause!
Me: I'm in this picture and I don't like it.
#she's a phenomenally well written character#unfortunately some of how well she's written is also written to get on my very last nerve#take a breath. have a nap. drink some water. then tell me if this is still worth yelling about miss attitude#a surface level analysis would suggest shadowheart is the fundie coded character here#but for me it's much more Lae'zel#shadowheart finds some semblance of balance too quick for that#Lae'zel just tries to replace jesus with buddha and move on#i have a feeling it'll take her a while to figure out why that... doesn't actually work#Baldur's Gate 3
