may 13: good mythical EST morning, jen (i have not (yet) been an avid rhett and link fan, but hey, maybe after i’ve watched every vlogbrothers vid... i like that phrase a lot). anyway, look! at how! similar! our! photos! are! i was planning on being way less flowery today, but i truly am falling more and more in love with the world each day of this summer break spring. when i was showing you this view on zoom, i was lying on the mossy grass, watching the tree in the breeze above me (it’s just a little fun to think about how we can “see” and “hear” wind) rather than the sun. i feel so alive and excited about lots to come. (and like i told you maybe twice already today, i saw a snake! it stopped on the woodchip path right in front of me, probably even more scared of me than i was of it, then slithered (what other verb is there to describe a snake’s movement?) away into the bush.

and then i ended my day watering plants outside in the dark. the grass had a layer of water on it already and it hadn’t rained, and that photosynthesis in action is just one of the things i experienced/learned about the world today.

thank you, truly, for being here. i don’t scream out loud very often at all, but you’ve gotten many screams out of me in this liminal virtual world. 

and thank you for reading those poems! literally no other person in my life tells me how poems i send them make them feel. you’re the best.
