Lesbian Visibility Week
Lesbian history that’s been included on this blog:
Katherine Phillips, the “Welsh Sappho”
Mary Charlotte Lloyd, Welsh sculptor, partner of Frances Power Cobbe
Cranogwen, Sarah Jane Rees, who needs no introduction
Amy Dillwyn, businesswoman and novelist
Rachel Barrett, Carmarthen Suffragette
Margaret Haig Mackworth, Viscountess/Lady Rhondda
Gwen Ffrangcon-Davies, 20th century actress
Shash Appan, activist of Trans Aid Cymru and Glitter Cymru
More modern women have been celebrated by WalesOnline (click for link), including Welsh LGBT+ historian Norena Shopland and LGBT+ and HIV activist Lisa Power.
There are also many more WLW (woman-loving women) I’ve posted about, like Nina Hamnett, Gwen John and Jan Morris.
Plus Efa Blosse-Mason’s beautiful art in the centre.
