VA Unit Run Girls, Run! to Live-stream Special Show to Celebrate Their 4th Anniversary Tonight

    The official website for the three-member voice actress idol unit Run Girls, Run! has announced that a special web show to celebrate the fourth anniversary of their formation will be live-streamed on their official YouTube channel from 20:00 (JST) / 04:00 (PST) on August 14, 2021. The latest information of the unit will be announced in the show.

  The unit's 23-year-old member Nanami Atsugi, who has been unable to perform at events involving performances due to ligament damage since July, is also scheduled to appear along with the other two members. Due to her injury, the unit's two live concerts in July and August have been postponed.  

  The three members are now asking for questions from fans to be featured in the show. You can post your question with the hashtag #おしえてらんがちゃん on Twitter!

  Run Girls, Run! was formed in 2017 and best known for their theme song works for the idol-themed anime franchise Kiratto Pri☆Chan. And all three members voiced the anime's main characters - Coco Hayashi as its protagonist Mirai Momoyama, Nanami Atsugi as Rinka Aoba, and Yuuka Morishima as Meru Shidou.

New PriChan Idol revealed....

So after all that secrecy, here she is: Mel Shidou. Like all the others, the kanji for her hair color (purple) is in her last name. 

I saw multiple folks scrambling to be the first to post her using the literal translation “Meru”, but Mel makes more sense because a.) The other members of Meltic Star have hiragana which can double as western names too and b.) Meltic Star. 

I find it really funny that Anna and Sara continue to use the name Meltic without her. I hope it really pisses her off. (I also hope someone gets that reference...) 

But yeah, like I mentioned before, considering Meltic Star’s theme color is purple, and now we know her NAME is a part of it as well... this HBIC right here is the true center of Meltic Star. Damn girl. Welcome back. 

On that note, somehow I only noticed for the first time: Mirai is the center of Miracle Kiratts. 

Anyway.

She sure doesn’t look like a pop idol does she?

Update: The official character profile page confirmed her last name is Shidou and her brand is Universe Queen. It also shes she left Meltic Star without giving a reason. So yeah, they are still using the name just to piss her off hahah. (Or in hopes she’ll come back.)

    Three-member voice actress idol unit Run Girls, Run! held a special live concert to celebrate the fourth anniversary of their formation, titled "Run Girls, Run! 4th Anniversary LIVE Run 4 You!!!," at Yamano Hall in Tokyo twice (14/00 / 18:00) yesterday, December 19, 2021. Immediately after that daytime show ended, its seven-minute digest clip was posted on their official YouTube channel.

  The unit was formed in 2017 and best known for their theme song works for the idol-themed anime franchise Kiratto Pri☆Chan. And all three members voiced the anime's main characters - Coco Hayashi as its protagonist Mirai Momoyama, Nanami Atsugi as Rinka Aoba, and Yuuka Morishima as Meru Shidou. The three sang many songs from the anime, including a medley of the OP theme songs - "Kiratto Start" (1st OP), "​Go! Up! Stardom!" (2nd OP), "Kiralist Jewelist" (5th OP), "Diamond Smile" (4th OP), and "​never-ending!!" (3rd OP).

      Also at the concert, it was announced that their first mini album is set to be released on April 6, 2022. Three of the six songs in the album are solo songs by each member, and its LIVE edition bonus Blu-ray will include the night performance of the "Run Girls, Run! 4th Anniversary LIVE Run 4 You!!!" concert.

Crowdfunding Campaign for VA Unit Run Girls, Run!'s First Photobook Immediately Reaches Its Goal

    As part of their formation's fourth-anniversary project, the three-member voice actress idol unit Run Girls, Run! launched a crowdfunding campaign to produce their first photo collection book on October 1. And it immediately reached its goal of 2,000,000 yen (18,000 USD).

  As of this writing, it has collected a huge 7,432,000 yen (66,967 USD), which is 371 percent of its goal. How much more will be added before the campaign ends on October 17? The photo book is scheduled to be completed by mid-February 2022, and shipping will begin in early March. Also, a special event will be held in mid-March.

Run Girls, Run! Shows Off Their Virtual World Performance in Kirrato Pri☆Chan New OP Theme MV

    The official website for the three-member voice actress idol unit Run Girls, Run! has posted a full music video for their eighth single song "Dreaming☆Channel!," which has been featured as the eighth OP theme for the TV anime Kiratto Pri☆Chan since its 142nd episode aired in Japan on March 14. The clip consists of everyday scenes of their enjoying video streaming like the characters in the anime, and scenes from the virtual world featuring their dance performances.

  The unit has sung all OP theme songs for the idol-themed anime since its first season started in April 2018, and all three members have voiced its main characters - Koko Hayashi as its protagonist Mirai Momoyama, Nanami Atsugi as Rinka Aoba, and Yuuka Morishima as Meru Shidou.

  The lyrics of "Dreaming☆Channel!" were written by Yohei Matsui, who previously worked on "Prima☆Donna? Memorial!," one of the most popular songs in the Pretty Series. Meanwhile, the music was composed by Yuuki Honda, who has worked on many songs for The Idolm@ster and Ensemble Stars! franchise, as his first work for Run Girls, Run!

  The CD single is set to be released on May 19, 2021 in three editions - the Live Edition with a Blu-ray of their "Run Girls, Run! Online Live ~Run Girling Link Live♪~" concert held on October 11, 2020, the MV Edition with a Blu-ray of the song's music video, and the CD-only standard edition.

Watch VA Idol Unit Run Girls, Run!'s Cute Performance in Their Online Concert Digest

    Avex Pictures' official YouTube channel has started streaming a 14-minute digest of the three-member voice actress idol unit Run Girls, Run!'s first online concert "Run Girls, Run! Online Live ~ Run Girling Link Live ♪ ~" held at SHIBUYA PLEASURE PLEASURE in Tokyo on October 11, 2020.

  Their official website explained its concept as - "Inspired by a song in the album, 'Run Girling Link Sing a Song,' (the title of the concert) was decided by the three members after discussion. In a world where it's hard to get people to come to the venue and watch our concert, we want to be linked to the runners through the screen of our online live performances!"
