Something you need to know about the ShinArthur relationship with Keith, as both the eldest and the only boy, is that they made sure Keith grew up in a home that respected his sensibilities and worldview.

There is a very important issue in my A.U, which I never stopped to point out because it is something intrinsic to this story, but I want you to pay attention, especially now that I am working on new chapters. Shinra and Arthur are raising a son who is emotionally very strong, and with a very strong sense of individuality, but who still has barriers and difficulties in aspects of life, for reasons that are external and beyond their control.

I want to make this clear, because starting in the next chapter I will start to address the school bullying that Keith suffered during his time at the military academy, as well as him battling his fears of talking to people that he developed in school, and I don't want people to associate his introversion, and his shyness with something that Shinra and Arthur did. They are human before they are parents they make mistakes, and they don't control the world around Keith, and unfortunately Keith is going to go through bad things that they can't control. But he's always going to have Shinra and Arthur figures, and they're always going to be there for support or a lesson about life. To help him build his individuality as a human being. Keith is much more courageous, cunning and perceptive than he appears to be, and I would even say he is smarter than both Shinra and Arthur.

Anyway, please pay attention to this. I really don't want to cause any misunderstandings.

The prologue to my fantasy fanfic ShinrArthur is ready, and I was wondering if you would like a preview of the chapter or not. I have chapter 2 done, and 3 currently in the works. I'll post the story when I have at least half of it done, BUT WELL DO YOU ACCEPT IT?

It's really weird exploring Shinra and Arthur's relationship with their kids in my familly a.u. It's weird because I'm working with two characters who haven't had a family past the age of 6, and who haven't learned what a happy, healthy home should be for a child.

And sometimes, they feel in a very big valley of strangeness, because they don't know how to deal with their children's adolescence, because they didn't have a thanks to the troubled life they had before the 8th. They don't have anyone to compare themselves with whether or not they're doing the right thing, because their close friends don't have children, and ok, in my a.u Hinawa and Obi are married and have a daughter, Kaji, but the character isn't mine, it's from my best friend, and I'm embarrassed to write with her sometimes, but I think Oubi and Hinawa join Shinra and Arthur on a level of "the only father figures we ever had", and they and Kaji join a lot more like a part of their family and that makes it a little more complicated. They don't compare to Hinawa and Oubi as parents, because Oubi and Hinawa are father figures to both of them. they are older, more mature and had a life before they had Kaji. Shinra and Arthur ran over a lot with Keith's adoption and less than 4 years later they had TWINS! and in this a.u they don't know anyone who has done the same and they always feel like insufficient parents. I don't know if I did it out of fear of the cliché of the orphan protagonist who is a terrible father, and I didn't want that for ShinrArthur, or I just read a lot about fatherhood, motherhood, childhood and other social aspects and I hit everything in a blender and my Kusakabe family a.u? I don't know. I got stuck months ago in a scene of Keith being a teenager and wanting to go to his favorite band's concert, but Arthur meets his parents in town when they're on the way. I took the poetic liberty of making Arthur's parents have a normal life after what was the "Cataclysm" in my A.U, and I don't know now how to properly reconcile Arthur with Keith and Arthur with his parents.

Because there is Arthur who is a 5-year-old boy who was abandoned, and there is Arthur who is a father and is an adult man solving his problems in therapy. It's so weird because I don't know whether or not I want to dive into the valley of weirdness with them or try to avoid it. I feel that avoiding this valley is romanticizing parenting, and embracing it is summing up Shinra and Arthur to trauma.

Sakura is the youngest daughter of Shinra and Arthur, and sometimes I think about her, and I think she's probably the most observant of the three siblings. She's the one who looks the most like Shinra, actually. They both have the same problem of being people who watch others a lot and would rather take care of other people than take care of themselves. I was just thinking about it!

6: Keith has two names, why? Well, usually Japanese descendants here in Brazil usually have a western name and a traditional name of their culture and I put that in Keith. His name is Keith Megumi Kusakabe, and yes I know Megumi is predominantly female, but the meaning of blessing, and sacred made Shinra and Arthur choose the name. (We pretend that the meaning of Keith and Megumi togheter don't form the meaning of Shinra's name, ok? Ok.)

7: Keith is one of the members of the rebel organization that fights against the totalitarian regime of the Tokyo empire.
