In a case of bad timing, just as the next round playoffs are set to begin, reports from Swedish media state right winger Lauri Pajuniemi might be on the verge of signing a deal with the Malmö IF Redhawks (Sweden-SHL) for next year. MAXIM BARBASHEV The New York Rangers assigned Maxim Barbashev (65 points in 67 games) to the Wolf Pack just before they left for Providence. They signed Barbashev to an ATO deal, and he will wear uniform #18. He won't play this weekend. Barbashev's QMHL season ended in the quarterfinals of the QMJHL President Cup playoffs in seven games by the Halifax Mooseheads. The final game score was 7-3. Okay I think after ruminating for a bit i can understand why exactly it doesn't make sense. I think their deaths were an attempt at showing that you cant totally escape your wrongdoings (yuan mie even has the lines “how deep are gratitude and grudges, affection and resentment? neither of us can escape them”) but the way it’s done literally doesnt  invoke that. they didnt die because of wen kexing’s past coming back to bite him, like in wei wuxian’s case (even though jyl’s death is still unfair). It doesnt fit with the themes and narrative of vengeance and justice; almost all of the deaths in SHL are because of the past catching up to them; gao chong, long que, you could even include zhao jing and zhou zishu. Wen Kexing had already solved those conflicts, had gone through a lot to solve them. But no, they died simply because of Mo Huai Yang’s sudden “righteousness” and Xie Wang’s greed. I think that’s why their deaths (and everyone else’s!) are so painful. they were unnecessary. and the fact that they had to do everything so quickly because of the lack of budget and not even give some of the characters proper and emotional death scenes makes it worse.

in the end, it just feels like a cheap shot to make the show sad and/or get rid of everyone wen kexing would still be attached to except zhou zishu
