I'm worried that the lack of structure to this upcoming week is going to hurt participation. Creators now have the additional task of coming up with their own prompt lists on top of any other creative work for the week in the busy time of year it is taking place. Part of the fun of ship weeks is seeing different people's interpretations of prompts in what they make.

Looking at the other asks, I'm curious, did you run this idea of this free day week by the RG discord, where most of the shippers are these days? It seems like the reception has been mixed from previous asks you have answered so far.

Many other ship weeks use multiple prompt lists for the week selected by their community so there are options for what to do and I think that would help here. I can appreciate experimentation but this implementation is heavy handed from the outset and borderline unfriendly to those that don't have time to come up with prompt lists which is the last thing any of us want for an event meant to bring the community together. As a suggestion having two prompt lists for the week could work. One list being the week of free days so people can do past prompts and ones of their own and then another prompt list of community chosen and voted prompts since there will undoubtedly be people that will prefer to work from a list already there instead of coming up with their own prompts.

Hi there! Thank you for sending in your message and your concerns! If you're concerned for creators, worry not! What we want to try and exercise with all fans of RG is to give an opportunity for both parties to engage with each other in a fresh way that hasn’t been done before (at least for this 1 week to see how creative and team working everyone in this community can be!). If some creatives can’t come up with a list or don’t have the time to, then they can depend on others in the fandom to help with those who submit their own prompt list (by using #my rg prompt list) and credit them for it. Whether that be taking a whole list and crediting one person or making a mash up of ideas from various participants and giving them a shout out for helping the creatives produce the content they want to pick and choose from! We have long been running this ship week before the New Rosegarden Server was created, and from what we’ve notice on the RG week team, not all ship weeks do the send in and voting system, but instead generate a list from within the ship team and post it for the whole community to work on. Whereas we gave the opportunity to let our community send in and vote for the prompts they wanted to see. We didn’t want to take away that kind of community interaction, so that’s why we’re trying this new approach! We humbly ask the community to give this a shot; to try to spark some new and fresh engagement with each other. Whether that be on discord between friends/servers, tumblr, twitter, etc, etc. This time we ask the community to get as creative and helpful as possible. Take this as a challenge, as those who will participate in the ship week can decide how daring they want to push their creative work by creating a list of prompts they never considered from other suggestions, or perhaps want to do a “themed” week, the options are limitless!

happy (late) valentine's!!!

WELL i was gonna send out individual valentines today but that didnt happen, but i just wanna take a minute to give a shout out to some of my fave mutuals and Cool People. you guys are all really great and all make my life a little brighter!!!

@heartstruqkk maddie!!!! we need to talk more but i'm so glad that you are my friend. we're both in Busy Schedule Hell so we dont have a ton of time to be online but i always really enjoy our conversations and you're such a talented writer!!! here's wishing you the best of luck with college stuff and your future career, whatever it may be!!

@still-intrepid we haven't had a chance to talk a lot but when we have talked i've enjoyed it a lot!! your writing is beautiful, your headcanons are great and your analysis of hetalia and ideas for fanworks are always so interesting!!!!
