The Conductor's Apprentice ✨

Craig Bramley is left heartbroken after his father is killed in a train crash. In the midst of his grieving, he stumbles upon a map of the fabled Island of Sodor, where his father had promised to take him one day. He boards a train bound for Shining Time, hoping to get answers from an old family friend. During the night, he hears the eerie sound of a mysterious train whistle echoing through the air, almost as though it's calling out to him.

Yeah it was only a matter of time before I found a way to shoehorn Craig into the TTTE universe asDFGH. I know most of the fandom considers TATMR to be non-canonical, but it's so rife with AU potential I just couldn't help myself. I loved the idea of Craig being a sort of conductor-in-training (no pun intended), with Mr. C being the one to mentor him and teach him how to use Gold Dust.

A few notes:

Craig is a gentle young man, who is kind and respectful to everyone he meets. He is also very selfless, and will not hesitate to put himself in danger in order to protect others. However, his soft personality does not preclude him from being cheeky every now and then.

Sometimes, his determination to be seen as reliable ends up working against him, and he has been known to overwork himself to the point of making himself sick.

Craig comes from a family of railroad workers. As a result of this, Craig is quite knowledgeable about train types and models as a whole.
