The trip to the Heart of the Village was pretty uneventful, as I would expect for a Day 1 before the relationships between my sims get going again. However, I did spot Demetrius - Etan’s current heir - turning down a compliment from a god, then getting shocked by his uncle Hudana.
Rivadya, who’s the closest to elderhood here, took the opportunity to lecture Hudana about it. Guess they won’t be flirting much after that?

While Akali works on his cooking knowledge by preparing the evening meal (he’ll need it if he wants to apprentice with the butcher), Demetrius discusses his visions for the future of Kulo Seeri with Shazia. He’s set to become the first headman the tribe has had in six generations should Etan lose her position - she’s been involved in some drama lately and is considering stepping down - and he hopes to disprove the old superstition that male leaders anger the spirits.
After Demetrius leaves, Shazia clears up the plates while a very tired Akali takes a food nap. Zzzzz.

Demetrius also walks by. Akali invites him in, and confesses to liking Demetrius’ younger sister, Princess Tabiltamyuli mi-Avira (Myuli to her friends) but having doubts about whether he could settle down. He thinks he’d feel imprisoned in a traditional Nuidya marriage. As a mi-Avira, Myuli can ask for any unmarried man in the tribe, and Akali knows it... he’s been very on-off with her as a result!
I don’t know what advice Demetrius is giving in the second picture, but this bit of random conlanging feels relevant: eltzas (literally “star bug”) is the Nuidya word for “firefly” but can also mean “attractive young man” or “boyfriend”. But... is Demetrius for or against Akali being betrothed to his sister? I can’t tell!

Meanwhile, back home, Keru notices Demetrius hanging around. He’s still angry about those fights last quartermoon, and hoping to get his own back. Luckily, Caleb - one of the elders - also happens to be walking by, and it usually falls to the elders to settle disputes. Although I have no idea how that speech balloon is supposed to be resolving the bad blood between the two younger men... but that could just be the squeamish ace in me talking. :)
Caleb hangs around for a while after Demetrius leaves, and Keru prepares some stew for the two of them to share. He winds up eating alone though, as Caleb spends most of his visit at the household shrine, talking to the ancestors.

The fourth rotation restarts with Kira mi-Avira’s household, since I deal best with simming setbacks when I don’t play lots in the same order after restoring my backup. So, introducing...
Tumblr media
Kira mi-Avira: cousin to Headwoman Etan and the only one of Abina and Melchol’s children to survive to adulthood, she grew up a spoiled princess in every sense of the word, and is the main reason Etan changed the succession rule and named Demetrius as her heir. Kira was not impressed by that.
Tumblr media
Sala mi-Avira: one of Kira’s two voidling-alpha twins, born following an incident where Kira was whisked off into the spirit world. She and her brother are still very young, but have already shown the beginnings of voidbeast powers.
Tumblr media
Vel zan-Avira: Sala’s brother, the younger twin (as Sala constantly reminds him) but no less of a voidling alpha. Neither twin has done much in the way of causing drama yet, but it’s only a matter of time...
Tumblr media
And finally, their arkal servant London Mares: an outsider originally and a former boxer turned consort of the headwoman, he was later divorced and demoted to arkal for starting a drunken brawl with Etan herself at a festival, then ACRing her best friend during a council meeting.
Previously on Kulo Seeri: Kira was abducted again and came back as a werewolf. She returned, immediately headed back to stargazing and was abducted again, returning pregnant. No, it wasn’t a modded telescope either.

The first household of rotation 2 (well, the second, but the Vedraloga playthrough was pretty uneventful this time, aside from Zera being kicked out) is Lydia and Keru. As there are fewer clan names than households in KS, I have households named for their matriarchs. Might need to change it to something more consistent for tagging purposes - not sure.
Lydia zan-Avira (the red-haired woman) is Headwoman Etan’s adoptive daughter. She and her twin brother Demetrius were adopted by Etan before she returned to Kulo Seeri; it’s a matter of debate whether she qualifies as a mi-Avira (a female twin who is a descendant of Sena Yuleng purely through the female line) but she's never been bothered about it either way. Now that Etan’s moved away from mi-Avira succession and decided that headwomen can appoint their own heirs, Lydia doesn’t see why it’s an issue, and just gets on with her art projects.
Keru zan-Tia (the dark-haired dude with the beard) is the ex-husband of Lark zan-Ace, and divorced her when she was found to have caused former zan-Ace matriarch Zita’s death. (The only time a man can ask for a divorce in KS is if his wife has broken one of the tribe’s seven great taboos. Poisoning your own mother definitely qualifies.) He’s an organised, hard-working man, so was matched with Lydia afterwards in the hopes that they would balance each other’s traits. For some reason, the match caused a massive falling out between Keru and his brother-in-law Demetrius zan-Avira - they got in two fights in rotation 1.
I was expecting a fairly humdrum day for these two, them being a two-sim household in the early rotations, but I didn’t get one... I blame the zan-Aces. :)
