3 things about me for 1 one thing about you (sounds fair right?) I have realized that I have not done this in a long time! So to all of my new followers, HI! I am Esrida, entrepreneur and mother to two beautiful little girls. I was born and bred in Pretoria, in sunny South Africa. I run on coffee and by choice only wear makeup when I have to look socially acceptable. The rest of the time you will find me in my active wear. I believe that if you don’t dream big, you might as well leave it. With the help and support of my awesome community and friends I am slowly building an empire. But always based on our own terms of success. For me, that is plenty of quality time with my family and friends and lots of laughs with my kids. 3 things you might not know about me: 1. I love love love coffee. I consider it a food group and can go for days on it alone. I dislike milk so I have it either black or with a splash of cream. Oh and it needs to be good coffee! 2. My kids are my world. Although they drive me up the walls most of the time there is not one thing in this whole world that I would not do, or give up, for them. They are my biggest present, blessing and challenge. 3. I like to tell myself that I do not like people, but secretly I know this is not true – I get my energy from people, and also believe that I give them energy. If you are a newcomer to the world of orchids, do not be scared of these. They aren't like traditional potted plants. They're epiphytes meaning that they don't grow in dirt but instead by hanging on to the bark of trees. There are a few orchids, mostnotably lady slippers, which are semi-terrestrial and expand within the loamy soil of the jungle ground. The reality is, orchid care isn't difficult; it's only different. Orchids have a reputation for being difficult to grow when in fact many forms make excellent house plants. With proper care an orchid can be in bloom for months each year and can live indefinitely. Being active I used to think that I didn’t have any hobbies. And then it dawned on me – I had exercising! Since realizing this, and making the mind shift, it has become even easier to be active on a daily basis. Now it is no longer a chore, something that I need to tick off my to-do list. It is something that I love doing, that makes me feel really good about myself, and I am proud knowing that the example I am setting for my kids is one of a strong, determined and active women. Meet Darius Friend. Husband. Father. Businessman. Gamer. Reserved, he is the strong but silent type. Unless he is with me, then he speaks non-stop. He has the cheesiest sense of humour, and loves romantic comedies. Although his current day job is rooted in the law, he’s actual passion is equally divided between Playstation games and business. For that reason (the business love, not the gaming) he started with his MBA and is about 2 months away from completing it. Fair to a fault, he tolerates no injustice.
