“But a bodyguard, seriously?” he still asked, though at this point he sounded more like a whiny teenager than a twenty-four-year-old adult. “Nothing even happened, everyone was fine,” he still argued. To what end? He didn’t know.

“But something could have happened,” his manager said, and he couldn’t exactly disagree with that. The situation had been scary, but he wasn’t about to admit that now. “And no one is willing to take that risk,” she added.

“As if one single bodyguard could have made a difference,” Simon mumbled under his breath.

Or, when singer Simon Eriksson reaches new levels of fame, his management decide to hire a bodyguard, Wilhelm, to ensure his safety.

“I’m curious to know more about non-business mode Wilhelm,” Simon told him, looking curiously over at the other.

“I’m really not that interesting,” was what Wilhelm had to say to that.

“Come on! You’re basically a mystery to me,” Simon said. “We’ve known each other for a month, not to mention spent the last week pretty much non-stop together, and the only things I know about you are your name, your coffee order, and that you like to run. Which is pretty much nothing.”

“You say that as if I know much more about you.”

“I mean, my entire life is on the internet,” Simon shrugged at the – at times – sad truth of such a statement.

“So, you just assume everyone knows everything about you?”

It took Simon a second to register her words and understand their meaning. He looked over at Wilhelm who seemed confused as well. So, Simon had heard her right. “We’re what?” “You’re sharing a room,” Freja replied as they all stepped into the elevator. Before Simon had time to overthink what it meant, she added, “a suite.” “What? Why?” Simon asked. He knew all about the ‘keeping him safe’ and ‘making sure nothing bad happened’ but he hadn’t thought it went as far as making him and Wilhelm share a room. “Just making sure you can’t sneak out without Wilhelm knowing about it,” his manager replied. Wilhelm was silent next to them, just listening to the conversation. “Who would I even sneak out to see in Brisbane? It’s not like I know anyone here,” Simon pointed out.

“Look who’s back,” Maddie said once the tour buses came into view. Simon was confused for a second, until his eyes landed on a figure standing outside one of the vehicles. Wilhelm.

Wilhelm’s eyes found Simon and he didn’t look away until Simon came to a stop a few steps away from him. Simon was vaguely aware of Maddie nodding at Wilhelm with a smile in greeting and the other returning it. His own eyes never left Wilhelm though.

“You’re back,” he was the one to say this time, making Wilhelm look back at him.

“Yes, I am,” Wilhelm replied.

“A star dating their bodyguard, now talk about a cliché,” Rosh said, still smirking. Simon really hated his friends sometimes.

“No one’s gonna date anyone,” Simon replied, feeling like the only sane one in the room. “I don’t care about Wilhelm. He’s just a nuisance I apparently have to deal with on a daily basis now.”

“We’ll see about that,” Rosh said in that tone of voice Simon knew all too well. The tone of voice that implied she knew something he didn’t know, that she could predict something happening in the future. He didn’t like that tone, nor did he like her current implications.

“Can’t we just game?”

Could Wilhelm have been the one to ask for a meeting with Freja? Was he planning on leaving because of Simon’s behaviour? He had to talk to Wilhelm. He had to apologise. That was how twenty minutes later, after a shower and a much-needed cup of coffee, he found himself in front of Wilhelm’s door. It was a little after 9:30, so he hoped he wasn’t about to wake the other up. He didn’t need to piss him off even more than he already had.

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I've started a little epilogue thingy for Perfect escape now (my honeymoon fic) over a year ago, but I'm not sure I'll ever finish it. It was the first fic I ever posted and idk if I want to "risk" adding to it almost two years later.

What are your writing strengths?

Is writing sometimes what feel like unnecessary details but which eventually help make the scene "more real" a writing strength? If so, that! I think Rose (hi @simons-purplehoodie) has mentioned it a few times while beta-reading my stories. Or I guess silly, really fluffy stories could also be one!

What are your writing weaknesses?

Filler scenes, 1000%! I hate them so much that for previous fics I used to write all the good scenes, not in chronological order, before I ever wrote a single filler one 💀 I'm trying to write chapter by chapter with my current fic and it's going well so far (I'm on chapter 10).

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I don't mind it, but sometimes it can feel a little odd depending on the context.
