What are the different steps of yarn manufacturing? | Sitaram Spinners
Yarn manufacturing is an intricate process that determines its quality, applications, and price. India being a predominant hub of yarn manufacturing houses many conventional and advanced spinning mills to meet the plunging global demand for quality cotton and commercial yarn. However, too much manual involvement in the conventional yarn manufacturing unit has not only slowed down the production process but also leads to flawed units of yarn. Hence, advanced and integrated spinning mills like Sitaram Spinners Pvt.Ltd manufactures yarn in the following steps.
Preparing the fibers: This is the beginning step when fibers are shipped in bales for blending. The fibers are then opened by a machine for cleaning and separating, post which blending is done.
Carding the fibers: Soon after blending, the carding machine is set with hundreds of fine wires to form a web of fiber. The process separates the fibers to form a rope-like strand of parallel fibers.
Combing the fibers: To achieve a smooth texture of the yarn, a comb-like device is used to brush the fiber and shrug off short coarse strands.
Drawing out fibers: This process involves elongating the fiber strands which are termed as silver in this process to give the fiber strands a small number of twists and fed them into large cans.
Twisting: The silver is now fed through a roving machine where the strands are further elongated and given additional twists.
Spinning: Ring spinning is done by feeding the roving through constantly rolling spinners, rotating at a speed of 4,000-12,000 RPM, to twist and wind the yarn in a single operation.
Quality control: Equipped with an advanced lab and skilled workforce ensures the international quality of the commercial yarn that has made Sitaram Spinners Pvt.Ltd a leading manufacturer and exporter of commercial yarn in the country.

What are the medical uses of spandex yarn? | Sitaram spinners
Spandex yarn is a commercially produced synthetic yarn that is widely used for weaving different kinds of fabric like denim, swimsuits, gym wear, surgical hose, sports apparel, and any such stretchable fabric. Because of the huge industrial demand for spandex yarn, high-capacity spinning mills in India are delivering substantial quantities of spandex fiber to meet the inflating domestic and global market demand.
The prime reasons behind the popularity of spandex yarn are its light and supple texture, unmatched elasticity, and tear and sweat resistance. All these favorable traits have promoted spandex yarn as the most widely used commercial yarn for extensive industrial uses in garment manufacturing.
Besides, garment manufacturing, spandex yarn has wide uses in the pharmaceutical industry. This synthetic polymer fabric is used to manufacture compression garments that are widely recommended for patients with poor circulation, waistbands, bandages, rubber tubing, knee or back braces, and surgical gloves. Besides elasticity, garments made of spandex yarn have usually the perfect fittings and retain their original length and shape even after repeated stretching. Fabrics made of spandex yarn are abrasion resistant and hence are safer and more durable for repeated use.
Considering the huge demand for spandex yarn, many average spinning mills in India are offering low-cost and compromised-quality spandex yarn that is unsuitable for pharmaceutical use. Hence, we recommend buying superior-grade spandex yarn only from leading spinning mills like Sitaram Spinners Pvt. Ltd (SSPL) that produces a wide range of global-quality commercial yarns.

What is organic yarn? | Sitaram spinners
Nowadays, you can get organic yarn in almost any yarn shop, from small neighborhood fiber shops to big-box retailers. There is something for everyone, from organic merino wool to organic cotton.
But what does organic yarn actually mean?
What qualifies a yarn to be organic?
Organic yarn
From wool to bamboo, a yarn might be considered organic if it only doesn't use petrochemical dyes, or it can be ultra-organic and clearly show who manufactured it in the neighborhood. When yarn is harvested locally, manually spun, and colored, it is genuinely organic.
The end product is frequently slightly more expensive as organic cotton crops are typically smaller than non-organic cotton harvests. Because of this, yarn created from organic cotton is frequently more expensive than yarn derived from conventionally cultivated cotton.
Why organic yarn?
Who among us does not acutely recognize the significant impact we have on the earth, our environment, and our world?
Every day things are starting to be produced in an organic way as more and more people adopt an organic lifestyle. Even huge chains of supermarkets are starting to carry organic goods and offer organic food. Nowadays, organic bath and beauty products are widely available. With yarn, the same thing has occurred. Wool and cotton yarn made from organic materials is both readily available.
Although not all yarn businesses offer organic cotton yarn, more and more of them are starting to include it in their product line-up. Various businesses specialize in recycled and organic crafting supplies. They solely market recycled or organic yarn. These merchants are frequently found online, where customers can explore their site catalogs for mail-order purchases. Physical establishments that specialize in recycled and organic craft supplies are also available.
One such brand is Sitaram Spinners Pvt Ltd. which offers high-quality yarn that is organically processed.

What is spandex yarn and how it is made? |Sitaramspinners
Spandex is an elastic fabric or more precisely synthetic polymer derived from polyether-polyurea copolymer fabric. It is a very highly demanding product for garment manufacturing. Due to the rising demand for spandex, the market has mushroomed with many average spandex yarn manufacturers delivering compromised quality yarn, too poor to qualify for the fabric manufacturing parameters.
Spandex is not a natural yarn and is spun under strict atmospheric conditions. This particular yarn is blended with other natural fibers like cotton to add elasticity without hampering the comfort and breathability of the natural fabric. The original denim is made of 100% cotton, making it costly and also vulnerable to easy damage and tearing. This is why spandex is blended with cotton, so you can move and stretch in your denim comfortably. Here is the step-by-step process of how spandex is made.
The first step involves the production of prepolymer. In this process, macroglycol is mixed with diisocyanate monomer in a 1:2 ratio under a recommended atmospheric condition.
Following next is the dry spinning process, where the prepolymer is again reacted with diamine.
After this chain extension reaction, the resulting solution is further diluted to make it thinner before feeding into the fiber-producing cell.
In the fiber-producing process, the polymer is run through a metal plate which is called a spinneret. The spinneret has many holes that allow the liquid polymer strands to pass through and solidify in the presence of nitrogen and solvent gas.
As the strands exit the cell, are treated with magnesium stearate that prevents the strands from sticking together. This is the final step before packing and shipping yarn to the fabric manufacturers.
Are you looking for low-cost premium quality spandex yarn for fabric manufacturing? Visit Sitaram Spinners, the country’s leading spandex yarn manufacturer that also produces various grades of other commercial yarn, highly valued by the global garment and fashion industry.

Properties and applications of Zero Twist Yarn | Sitaramspinners
Zero twist yarn is exactly what it sounds with zero or less twist, making the yarn softer, fluffy and exclusive. Weaved of extra-long cotton fibers, zero-twist yarn are twisted into ply around PVA (Poly Vinyl Alcohol) filament for maximum stability and durability during the twists. The intensity of the twist determines the strength of the yarn which is at its peak during the process and decreases slowly by the end of the process, after which the fabric is ready for washing. During washing, the PVA dissolves leaving the yarn untwisted.
Properties and advantages of zero-twist yarn
Because of no twist, zero-twist yarn is softer and hence widely used for hassle-free weaving of exclusive zero-twist towels. During spinning, zero-twist yarn is wound with PVA filaments that dissolve after the process. Zero twist yarn is abrasion resistant and can also withstand certain tensions during the weaving of towels and other products.
However, the only problem with pure cotton zero-twist yarn is its hairy texture and hair fall, which is why some commercial spinners use spandex with cotton for manufacturing zero-twist yarn.
Applications of zero-twist yarn
One of the lightest yarns in the league, zero-twist yarn is fast-absorbing, fast-drying, and insulating. Because of these exclusive properties, this yarn is also expensive and used for manufacturing kid’s friendly zero twist towels, besides the softest blankets, baby bath poncho sets, and the plushiest baby wraps.
While there are many spilling mills in the market producing zero twist yarn, the problem happens when they fail to qualify the industry parameters by the fabric manufacturers. This is why we suggest extracting quality zero twist yarn from Sitaram Spinners, the leading yarn manufacturer and exporter in India that produces other types of quality yarn, trusted by renowned garment manufacturers all over the world.

Sitaram Spinners: 5 advantages of core-spun yarn: Sitaram Spinners
Core spun yarn is the most widely used yarn made of 2 fibers. Also known as composite yarn or covered yarn, core-spun yarn is processed of synthetic fibers as core fibers, along with short fibers such as cotton and wool. Because of its excellent elasticity and durability, this yarn is a staple in denim manufacturing, hemming leather bags, quilts, and mattresses.
Among all types of yarn produced and available in the market, core-spun yarn tops the demand chart for its unlimited advantages. Let’s have a look at the top 5 benefits of core-spun yarn.
The main reason for the use of core-spun yarn in denim manufacturing is because of flexibility and stretchability. This composite yarn with spandex lends denim elasticity and durability, making it comfortable to wear.
Friction-resistant during high-speed garment manufacturing.
Coupled with spandex, core-spun yarn adds elongation to denim apparel.
Apparels made of core-spun yarn are easy to wash and dry with low static electricity.
Shirts made of core-spun yarn offer maximum breathability and hence, are a good choice for summer.
Core spun yarn is primarily manufactured through any of the three processes, which are core twin spinning, conventional spinning, and rotor spinning. This yarn is 40-50% tougher than the regular spun yarn and other standard yarns to be used for denim manufacturing and hemming. Because of its excellent physical and surface properties, the demand for core spun yarn in the garment industry is always high over other yarns. From sewing denim and mattresses to other heavy-duty fabrics and apparel, core-spun yarn is the only solution for a durable smooth finish.
Looking for quality-tested core-spun yarn for your garment business? Seal the deal only with Sitaram Spinners, a top yarn manufacturer and exporter in the country to produce premium quality core-spun yarn, trusted and recommended by the industry experts.
