Got this camping foldable chair a couple months back, and waited till I’ve used it a few times before reviewing it. I think I have finally found the one that really works for me (for local use). I’ve own several reputed brands sketching stool – Walkstool, Helix, Montbell, etc. – but for each of those there has always been something that makes me not use them... • Walkstool was too high for me such that I can’t easily reach my palette on the floor while painting. • Helix is super comfy, and has the right height, but it’s always a pain trying to pack up and go (not ideal for multiple-locations sketching). • Montbell triangular one is really portable, but the sitting area is so tiny that it cuts of blood supply to you-know-where. This maroon-colored, matrix-legged stool by Quechua has almost everything I look for in a sketch stool: comfort, sturdiness, right height, and ample space to cradle my butt, ease of use (opening and folding), etc. I can sit straight up, slouch, and I can easily teach my supplies on the ground. Ok, granted, it’s not the smallest and most portable sketch stool around, but it’s not a major concern for me as I usually drive to sketching situations / events, and even if I didn’t, it comes with a sling that allows me to carry it over the shoulders. The best part? At $17 a piece, it costs only a fraction of the price of all the other “reputed” sketch stools I own, and the material used look and feel really solid and durable.
