I have to say for this au my first thought was cat Rendog, one of those with wiry fur and grumpy face and he totally would act like a dog ldkfk But making him a big Wolfdog hybrid fit too well with my idea of Pearl being a borzoi since they were bred to hunt wolves. So the fear he had of her in double life made extra sense even if Pearl looked like the most pathetic lost puppy ever.

So instead of "rendog isn't a dog" i went with "rendog is the Most Dog he is Dog+"
