#skoh 2
Text
Teaching my 2 y.o. some new phrases tonight after she manipulated my husband into making her a PBJ instead of the dinner that was served. He had referred to her as "Baby Dutch" so it seems only fitting that she can now say "one moh skoh", "ta-he-he", "ya-ya-he (loyalty)", and "I ov annn (I have plan)"

For those of us who aren’t Norwegian, how do you say your names and what do they mean? I want to be sure I’m saying them right in my head!
Tumblr media
“All the others are named after places along our line, so they have no meaning. My name on the other hand is different, as I was named after one of our railway controllers, Eigil Prydz. He saved our line from bankrupcy many times and was honored by having an engine named after him; me. I actually didn’t have a name in the beginning... I got named when I was 2 years old. As for how to speak our names.... uhh.... I don’t really know. I think maybe mine is the easiest, but there is really no example of the others’ names online... You can hear some of our names in this video: https://youtu.be/gcdd-GjHIMA and at least Høland’s name in this video about the municipality Aurskog-Høland: https://youtu.be/naeJvhdA0aU . I’m not good at pronouncations... but my guess: Høland (Huh-land or something like that?), Setskogen (Set-skoh-gen?), Bingsfos (Bingsfohss?) and mine, Prydz (just think of the artist Eric Prydz).... sorry I can’t be of better help, anon...”

About Heather Michelle:
Tumblr media
Heather Michelle is an emerging author of young adult fantasy. She lives in Acworth, GA with her cat Mister Bingley and a slew of unique roommates.
Growing up, Heather Michelle spent more time living in her imagination than outside of it. Small town life sandwiched between the redwood forests and the Pacific ocean provided a rich scope for the imagination. Before the age of twelve, Heather Michelle was not a reader, but a chance encounter with a rented audiobook launched her into the vast world of the printed word, and she never looked back.
