Evil.
Pure evil.
No matter how much she thought about it, Hana couldn’t come up with any other word that would define what she was doing right now. Sitting in the darkness of the van, she sat before your unconscious figure, trying to give a name to the whirlwind of emotions brewing in her, holding herself back from simply blowing your head off. Every glance she threw your way was filled with hatred and jealousy, the reason behind it being as obvious as the existence of the sun. And with every passing minute, with every urge she dodged, she feared that she was turning into the very monster she ran away from years ago.
Hana sniffled, wiping her nose with the back of the hand that held her gun while staring outside at the cliff she knew all too well, recalling how the scene before her looked exactly like what she had seen with Namjoon on that one unfortunate night, all those years ago.
It was the night when he had first told her that he was going to follow in after his father’s footsteps. She still remembered how her heart broke, how all the trust and faith she had in her best friend had disappeared without hesitation. In all the time she had known him, joining his father in doing something so gruesome was the last thing Namjoon would do. Or so she thought. She had hoped that he loved her just enough to leave all of it behind and spend forever with her. Hoped that he would give up this life that would do nothing but tear them apart. Because even in her wildest dreams, Hana couldn’t imagine loving a murderer. And that’s exactly what Namjoon had become.
Pulling her phone out of the pocket of her coat, she dialed Namjoon’s number with teary eyes, the rage in her heart begging to be unleashed. Pressing it to her ear, she counted the number of rings before hearing a click, indicating that he had picked up the call.
“Who’s this?!” He barked, annoyance evident in his voice upon being interrupted in his search operation by an unknown caller. But Hana wasn’t about to blame him, she wasn’t even using her actual phone. Correction, she rather couldn’t. Because the last thing she wanted was to watch him choose someone over her, once again.
“Why her, Joon?” Hana whimpered, losing her mind piece by piece as she struggled to keep her sanity in check.
“Why her?”
The silence that followed after her question was deafening, to say the least, the only other sound being that of Hana’s soft cries. She had heard him gasp upon hearing her voice, clearly surprised that she had called him after daring to kidnap his precious little lover.
“Hana, where are-?”
“No!” She replied sharply, her sadness morphing into anger at the realization that all he cared about was where she was, just so he could get to you and save you. But not tonight. Hana had plans for you and she was gonna make sure she executed them.
“Not tonight, Namjoon. Because I am going to make sure you never see her again,” she glanced at you with gritted teeth, “gonna hurt you just as bad as you hurt me.”
“Hana! Are you even listening to yourself? This isn’t you! Just tell me where you are,” he begged, making Hana smile at the irony.
'This isn’t you.'
Wasn’t she?
“That’s what I thought about you but you proved me wrong. And so, it’s only fitting that I do the same to you,” she mocked, a smile on her lips that was almost the perfect definition of insanity being wiped off just as it appeared at the sight of you starting to squirm and frown, sirens ringing in her head to cut the call now.
“However, I’m gonna give you one last chance to fix this.” Hana said, using the barrel of her gun to brush your hair away from your face, “Meet me at the place where you last met me as you. Just my Joonie and not Kim Namjoon.”
Pointing the gun right at your forehead, Hana closed one eye, placing her finger on the trigger before giving her long-gone-best friend the ultimatum.
“If you remember, great! But if you don’t, then it’s all over for your girlfriend here.”
Namjoon stayed frozen, his phone simply slipping away from between his fingers and falling to the ground with a sound that didn’t quite reach his ears. Ever since he saw the van leave, he had stayed right there with the rest of the members. It was a little too difficult for him to get a grip on the situation and Hana’s phone call only made things worse. Never had he ever imagined that his Hana, a girl he had known all his life, would do something like this. Moreover, never had he ever imagined that he’d be the reason behind the pain Hana was ready to inflict on you.
“Namjoon!” Feeling a tight grip on his shoulder, the man in question forced himself back to reality and away from his overbearing thoughts, his eyes holding no emotion when they met Yoongi’s.
“What was Hana talking about? Where do we have to go?” Yoongi questioned, eyebrows pulled into a frown and sweat beading on his forehead upon seeing his friend so out of it. He could tell that Namjoon was in no state to even begin to register his words but he, himself, was feeling helpless. The things that happened between Namjoon and Hana were unknown to them all, being only between the leader and his now ill-wisher. Even if Yoongi wanted to take charge, he couldn’t and that drove him to feel much more panicked than he already was.
“I couldn’t track her, the signal kept jumping. She knows what she’s doing,” Taehyung stated worriedly, earning frustrated glances from everyone as he went back to trying again on his laptop in the back of the car. It was almost unbelievable that Hana was so cautious, even to Jungkook who had known her as a girl who didn’t like risks. Because this kind of cautiousness wasn’t something normal people took to in their daily lives. Contrary to the torture theory, Hana was most definitely a part of something bigger in her time away. There was no other explanation as to why she met that cop and there was no explanation as to why she had become this vengeful all of a sudden.
“You know, you can’t just stay mum when Y/N needs you!” Rex pointed accusingly, looking a little bit more worried than Namjoon himself, as Jungkook noticed. The newbie’s bloodshot eyes were corroborating his suspicion which Jungkook simply blamed on him being new to all of this. With time, Rex would soon come to understand that this was what they did every single day, deal with nothing but betrayals and tough decisions, exactly what Hana had thrown their way.
Glaring at Rex, Jin gestured for him to shut up, not feeling disappointed in the least as the youngest lashed out. Sighing shakily, he moved to kneel beside Namjoon whose limbs had given up on him, glancing around them at the chaos that was slowly coming to an end as the sound of a siren indicated the arrival of a fire brigade along with a few ambulances.
“You’re the only one she has, Joon.”
And it seems that was enough for Namjoon to look up at his friend, several emotions filling his eyes as he heard what Jin said. In a blink of an eye, his mind began flooding with all the moments he shared with you, also recalling how it felt to fall a little more in love with you every passing second of every passing day.
He remembered dancing with you when you had figured out just how stressed he was, feeling grateful for how much it mattered to you that he stays happy. He remembered kissing you, his heart thrumming at how alive he had felt that night. He remembered the smile you gave him before entering the maze, him being your comfort place being the last thing your eyes told him. And for all you were worth, he was willing to do anything to save you.
Even if it meant forgetting what Hana meant to him once upon a time.
A smile played at Namjoon’s lips, not the good kind at all. Suddenly, the leader’s aura had changed, the man you had never had a chance to see making an appearance. Low laughter sounded through the air as everyone watched Namjoon stand up, his eyes darkening with malice.
“I know exactly where she is,” Namjoon announced, walking towards his car whilst ignoring everyone’s confused glances. He sat in the driver’s seat, gesturing for everyone to get into action before looking at the seat beside him. The phone he had gifted you sat there inside the white box, his jaw clenching as he longed to get to you before Hana even laid a finger on you.
“She wants to play? I’ll fucking play.”
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“Please, please let me go. I don’t wanna do this, dad,” you begged, your back pressed against the basement wall of your childhood home as your father loomed over you with a damp cloth in his hand. The dim lights on the ceiling made him look more like a monster and less like the man you had known all your life.
“Come on, Y/N. Don’t you wanna help me earn money? Don’t you wanna be rich and live in luxury?” He questioned, tilting his head as if to wait for your response. And just as you began to shake your head furiously, his eyes turned cold, staring at you like you were a stranger who didn’t matter to him. Didn’t matter at all.
“I wasn’t giving you a choice, sweetheart,” he knelt before you, running his fingers through your hair, “when girls like you grow up, this is how they earn money. By selling their bodies.”
Hearing your father say those words made you grimace in disgust, your tears showing your disapproval towards who he had become. Only if your mother was still alive.
All of a sudden, you felt your hair being tugged at harshly, your head being forced to face the ceiling. You screamed, gripping your father’s hand and digging your nails into his skin with all your strength. He hissed in response, cursing under his breath before looking into your eyes and placing the chloroform-doused cloth over your mouth. And as you closed your eyes, you realized your father was long gone. You had no one to fend for you anymore.
Just you.
Only you.
You shot your eyes open immediately, not wanting to be a part of that awful memory that had managed to resurface in your mind. With a heaving chest, you blinked a few times in an attempt to adjust to the darkness around you, a strong smell of gasoline taking over your senses along with the leftover panic from your dream. Shivers ran down your spine as you realized that your hands had been tied together, the discovery only adding to your stress.
“Wha-” you cried, pulling at the thick rope which further dug into your skin. Your eyes caught sight of a pair of boots before you, your cries fading into silence as you slowly looked up at who sat before you. And as the moonlight filtered in through the windows of whatever vehicle you seemed to be in, you saw her staring right at you with an amused expression.
Hana.
The sight of her face was enough to help you remember everything that had happened before you blacked out, the lingering smell of chloroform giving rise to a strong feeling of nausea along with flashes of the maze.
Mirrors.
Red lights.
Namjoon.
“From the look on your face, I can tell you know me,” you heard her say, your eyes taking her in as if you had never seen her before. But of course, you had. The night you had seen her for the first time had been an unfortunate one and you had deemed it unforgettable, her face etching itself into your memory without any intention of being forgotten.
“Why am I here? Where is Namjoon?” You questioned, your voice coming out small and fragile instead of strong and intimidating but there was nothing you could do. It was already a pain trying to keep yourself from bawling your eyes out after seeing your father’s face so fresh in your mind. On top of that, you understood perfectly well that Hana had abducted you without the knowledge of anyone. There was no way to even tell if Namjoon was coming to get you but you were trying your best to stay hopeful.
Because you trusted him.
A lot.
“You, my darling, are here to serve a great great purpose. And as for Namjoon,” she began, smiling at you with an aura so bright that it made her look crazy, “what makes you think he’ll come here for you?”
Her question made you frown, leaving you confused as to what you were supposed to say that. Nothing had ever been said between you two except for that night when he kissed you. Apart from that, what he felt or what you meant to him, you had no idea.
“Cat got your tongue, Y/N?” Hana pouted, her mocking tone making you much more upset than you already were. The real reason wasn’t even her though. It was the fact that you didn’t know who you were to him but you did know who Hana was to him. From the way he didn’t hesitate for a single minute before leaving you behind for her, it was clear that she was someone he cherished dearly. But you?
What were you to him?
“Here’s the truth, Namjoon will choose that disgusting life of his over you any given day. You mean nothing to him just like I meant nothing to him,” she chuckled bitterly, her eyes tearing up at the sad words she called the truth. Looking at the floor of the car, you pursed your lips, not wanting to sympathize with the girl who had kidnapped you. But at the same time, it was difficult for you to ignore her words.
What did she mean by disgusting life?
“His life is anything but disgusting,” you pointed out with a hint of hesitation in your voice, eyeing her expression carefully since you didn’t wanna say anything that would upset her. Maybe Namjoon being busy most of the time didn’t sit well with her. That’s why she called it disgusting. Because what was disgusting about being the CEO of a company as big as his? As far as you could think, nothing was the correct answer here.
Suddenly, a cackle echoed through the dark, Hana’s head tipping back as she barred her teeth to you. A flash of fear ran through your veins, giving rise to goosebumps on your skin as you inhaled deeply at her reaction to your words. But everything fell silent soon enough, her eyes now boring into yours as she leaned forward.
“What kind of a person do you have to be to justify the fact that he runs a fucking crime syndicate?”
It was as if everything around you faded into nothing, your eyes freezing on Hana’s face as her words rang in your head. Crime syndicate? What was she saying?
“What are you…-you’ve got it all wrong, Hana. Joon runs Kim Enterprises, not some…some mafia gang.” You stuttered, a part of you wondering if you were convincing her or yourself. Because suddenly, a lot of things started making sense.
His late-night meetings. Your father fearing him. That gun.
Shaking your head, you took in a deep breath, yelling at your conscience for doubting Namjoon like that. He had saved your life and was constantly taking care of you. How could you doubt him? There was no reason for him to lie to you. Especially since he got mad at you for working at that club. There was no way he had lied to you.
Right?
“One of the members of his gang, Kim Seokjin runs that company. And that too so the group can have some kind of leverage with finances and their illegal shit.” She rolled her eyes, making your heart drop to your stomach.
Hurt. Betrayed. Foolish.
These were only some of the feelings you could name on the tip of your tongue, the rest of them collectively working to rip your heart into pieces. It felt like someone was stabbing you again and again and again, tears welling up in your eyes as you struggled to breathe.
Namjoon had lied to you? And you had been dumb enough to believe every word that came out of his mouth since day one. Even when your father had cowered in fear before him, you could tell nothing. But you knew nothing scared your father. Then how did you not know who Namjoon was to be able to hold that power over your so-called guardian?
Just how?
You whimpered, feeling too weak to even sit up as your body leaned forward and your forehead met the floor of the car. Your skin was hot all over, tears falling down onto the black leather mat which also smelled like dust. With a heaving chest, you let out a loud cry, not caring about the fact that you had been kidnapped. All you knew was that you didn’t wanna face him. Moreover, you didn’t want him to come to save you.
Because what could he do to save you when the truth was already killing you inside?
“Wait a minute, you had no idea, did you?” You heard Hana say, her tone making it evident that she was enjoying this. She was enjoying how upset you felt and she was feeding off of your sorrow. Feeling a hand at the back of your head, you shivered, closing your eyes tightly as fingers ran through your hair.
“Don’t worry, darling. You won’t feel anything in a minute. None of this pain. Just nothing.” She whispered, her hand leaving your hair before the door of the car opened. Inhaling sharply, you sat up, watching her move to the driver’s seat and turn the engine on.
“What are you doing?” You asked, frowning deeply while watching her move around outside the van to pick up a rather heavy rock. In response to your question, all she did was grin, your heart beating harder and harder.
“It was nice knowing you, Y/N. But I told you, right? That you’re here to serve a greater purpose?” She breathed heavily, wincing at the heavy rock in her arms. Shaking your head, you still had no idea what she was going to do but it couldn’t be good. So you began thrashing in the back, trying hard to get your hands out of that rope while mumbling a string of no’s.
“You are here to make sure I get my revenge,” She said, making your eyes widen at her statement, “time to get to it.”
With that, you saw her place the rock on the accelerator, quickly shutting the door as she moved away before the van began to move. Your jaw dropped in horror, your eyes taking in the expanse of the sea that lay ahead of the cliff.
“No!” You screamed, moving your arms around wildly as blood seeped through the rope and painted your hands behind your back. And just as your hands freed themselves from the restraints, the wheels flew off the cliff, your eyes screaming in silence as the water came rushing to you from all ends.
Once again, it was just you. Only you.

CBH, Deception or Masterpiece?
Hey guys! So I'm just here to ask you guys to help me decide which series I should be focusing on for now. I've come to the realisation that handling three series at a time is a little difficult and it also prevents me from using my goddamn brain with the plots. I just wanna give you guys the best plots possible 🥺
So, if it's not too much, could you just go and vote on this link? Pretty please?🥺
Okay, thank you! Ily!❤️🌟✨

chαptєr †ωεレ∀ε: Love me, please
Character Count: 12,181
Pairing: Namjoon×Reader (Appearances by the whole of BTS)
---------------------------------------
When I fall in love, it will be forever.
-Jane Austen
---------------------------------------
"Do you think she'll come to see any of us again?"
The smell of fresh paint was present in the air that filled the warehouse, Namjoon's nose scrunching up slightly at how strong it was. He hated new places, warehouses in particular. They made him feel like was powerless all over again, struggling under his father's hold and aching for his mother to come back and take him away. A faint pang in his heart made Namjoon stand up straighter and shake his head, his mother's cold eyes flashing in his mind like every other day.
"If she wants to live, it'll be better for her to stay hidden." Jungkook replied to Rex's question, his doe eyes blankly staring at the wooden shelter before him. The sun was setting on the horizon, the sky bursting in hues of pink and orange. The day could have been as beautiful as the sky if Hana hadn't run away from the club the previous night. Jungkook had gotten to her a little too late, her guilty eyes being the last thing he saw before she disappeared into the night.
That look proved to him that she was at fault, his mind being unable to believe the drastic turn of events. Namjoon sighed, leaning against his car as the cool wind played with his hair, his eyes closing in defeat.
"Our men are all over the city. If she's still here then we'll find out soon." Yoongi stated, gazing at his leader's stressed out expression. Yoongi was still curious as to what went down between Namjoon and you after he dragged you out of the club last night but it wasn't his place to ask. Namjoon's conflicted expression told him that there was a lot to take in.
"Let's wait it out. If there's any news, we all should be informed immediately." Namjoon instructed, eyes falling on every members' face as he turned around to get into his car. All he wanted to do was go home and sleep to his heart's content. But he knew that was gonna be an impossible task, considering the fact that you were breathing in the same house as him. Namjoon was still too nervous to talk to you about what had happened but he had to break the ice. He knew you were avoiding him since you barely stepped out of your room in the morning, running to grab your breakfast only when he was in the shower. He couldn't conclude whether what he did was okay with you or not. Because if it wasn't, then he was gonna have to apologize even though he didn't regret it one bit.
As all the cars pulled out onto the road, nobody noticed the extra pair of eyes hiding in the distance and watching them.
∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆
You huffed, stuffing your hands in the pockets of your jacket and pouting at the pavement. It was getting colder as the sun started drowning on the horizon, the wind ruffling your hair as you tiredly trudged against the road. Behind you stood a big black building, the club's haunting name displayed in big letters.
You had come back, just to return your uniform. Surprisingly, your manager had sympathised with you while giving you a reassuring smile. Isla swore something was wrong and you couldn't help but agree. The only problem here, was that your manager wasn't the only one who was being weird.
Isla herself was giving you pressed smiles and nervous glances. Maybe Namjoon had ended up scaring everyone when he pulled you out in the middle of your shift but did he come off as intimidating?
Certainly, not to you.
"Okay, enough of your judgemental eyes. What's the problem?" You blurted out, stopping and turning to your ex-colleague abruptly. Her eyes widened momentarily at your sudden question, her fingers nervously fiddling with the hem of her top. You frowned, not being used to seeing Isla so distracted before. You could tell something was bothering her a lot.
"So, it's actually you and Kim Namjoon, huh?" You'd be lying if you said the question wasn't strange, because you were totally caught off guard. Why Isla asked that was beyond you. All this time you had assumed that Isla knew who Mr Kim was but now, you weren't so sure anymore. You tucked your hair behind your ear, trying to stop the strands from sticking to your glossy lips.
"Yeah? Who else is the CEO of Kim Enterprise?" You shrugged, as a matter of fact. Isla cocked an eyebrow, tilting her head in amusement. It seemed as if she couldn't believe what you were saying. But could you blame her? You were the only one who didn't know what this was all about.
The sun was now nowhere to be seen, darkness taking over the sky as you glanced up. You needed to get home before it became too dark. No matter how old you were, the thought of walking alone towards Namjoon's house was scary. Damn him for living in such an isolated place.
"Y/N, what are you talking about? Kim Namjoon is not-"
"Should I be worried to see you here?"
Isla's eyes widened and her mouth fell shut upon seeing the source of the voice, her gaze falling on you as you froze in your place. You could never not know who this voice belonged to, your heart hammering in your chest as you turned around to face him.
Namjoon had stopped by to obtain the security footage of the previous night, his mind begging to find out the identity of the man that Hana had come to meet. He must be a police officer, Namjoon knew that. But unfortunately, no one had paid attention to the cop, being overpowered by the thought of catching Hana red handed. When the manager of the club told him that you had left only minutes ago, Namjoon's mind began racing with questions.
Why?
Without waiting for the manager to explain further, he rushed out to see you standing at the corner with your friend who you had attempted to help the night before. Before he could stop himself, his feet were already taking him towards you, wanting to take you away from this pathetic place once again.
"Namjoon…" Your voice was soft and full of surprise, making Namjoon's heart flutter. He clenched his jaw and closed his eyes to regain his composure. As much as he had instructed himself to stop feeling that way, he couldn't help when he saw you. How could he possibly stop himself from wanting you?
You were so ethereal.
"What are you doing here?" You asked, your hands turning clammy at the sight of him standing before you in a black overcoat that made him look more handsome. Black was Namjoon's colour. Actually, every colour was Namjoon's colour.
Namjoon raised an eyebrow, glancing at Isla who stood behind you with a nervous expression. Namjoon had heard whatever she was going to tell you, he was glad he found you before that. If you were to find out who Namjoon really was, it was gonna be from him only.
"I should be asking you that." He replied, taking a step closer to you. The intensity of his gaze made you look away, your breathing faltering and your cheeks growing warm. You buried your hands in the pocket of your hoodie. Correction. His hoodie.
"I was just here to return my uniform." You answered, earning a nod from him. A gust of wind made you shiver, Namjoon's eyes narrowing upon noticing how you weren't really looking at him. He really had to talk to you about the kiss.
"Come on, let's go home." He stated, nudging his head towards his car that was parked across the street. Not seeing much of an option, you nodded, slowly turning around and bidding farewell to Isla.
Namjoon had already made up his mind, he was gonna try his best to never let you meet Isla again. He was sure that the girl knew about him and he wasn't too surprised. A lot of people knew about him, it was only shocking that you didn't.
You quietly turned around and followed Namjoon to the car, your heartbeat growing faster at the thought of being alone with him. He held your hand out of the blue, your eyes staring at the back of his head as he looked out for any cars before crossing the road. It was purely an instinct, Namjoon just wanted to hold your hand and damn, his heart was uncontrollably racing now. Opening the door to your side of the car, Namjoon let you in before shutting the door gently. You could hear your heart in your ears, thrumming rhythmically but erratically.
So much for trying to avoid him.
Namjoon got into the driver's seat, your eyes fixated on the side of his face as he settled comfortably. Smoothly, he stretched his arm towards the backseat and took hold of a white box. You inhaled deeply when he finally looked at you, nudging the box towards you. You frowned in confusion but took it anyway, quickly recognizing the logo engraved on top of the white surface.
"You..you didn't have to get me-"
"Yes, Y/N. I did have to buy you a phone. Now I can actually keep track of your whereabouts." He interrupted you, focusing his attention back on the road as he started the car. Your heart was swooning again, Namjoon's personality traits catching up to you. You were absolutely done for. There was no escaping the fact that you were falling for the man sitting beside you. If you were being honest now, you would probably let him kiss you again. It's not like you stopped him the first time anyway.
You hugged the box to your chest and leaned your head against the window, smiling softly and looking at all the buildings that you left behind. Namjoon's eyes kept flickering between you and the road, his lips mirroring the smile on yours. Because it was inevitable. Namjoon smiled when you smiled. Namjoon was happy when you were happy. What had you done to him?
Namjoon's gaze fell on the skin of your neck, a dark bruise of some sort peeking out from the edge of the neckline of your clothes. His eyes darkened immediately, foot slamming against the break and making the car halt abruptly. You gasped, placing your hand on the dashboard to stop yourself from being thrown into the windshield. Your eyes were wide and your chest was heaving, your fingers letting go of the box that held your new phone in it. You turned to ask Namjoon what had just happened, only to find his jaw clenched and eyes shut. His knuckles were turning white with how hard he was gripping the steering wheel, adrenaline rushing through him as he tried to keep his thoughts at bay.
Namjoon had no idea what had just happened. All he knew was that he saw the mark on your neck, the one he was responsible for and he couldn't stop the possessiveness from taking over him. He shouldn't be feeling this way, considering the situation of your relationship right now but it was inevitable. He had a flashback of every second of the kiss he shared with you and he was just dying to do it again.
"Namjoon, are you okay?" You squeaked, still shaken up from what had just happened. Namjoon leaned his forehead on the steering wheel, catching his breath before looking at you.
"I'm fine. Just a little stressed out." He lied, biting the inside of his cheek as if to punish himself for that. You gulped, nodding in understanding and turning back to sit straight. That was close, for all you knew, this could have been your last car ride.
"Do you want to...go to an amusement park? You could distract yourself for a bit?" You blurted out, mentally slapping yourself for your words. At a time when you should be comforting him, this is what you say? Good work, Y/N.
Namjoon chuckled, shaking his head and seeing you hide your face in embarrassment.
"I mean, it's not like we have anything else to do." He said, stepping on the acceleration and heading to the amusement park which was at the other side of the city. Good thing it was the establishment's anniversary week, which meant they were gonna be open all night. Namjoon didn't actually know this until he had heard Rex talking about how everyone should go together and lose their minds while sitting on all sorts of rides. Obviously, everyone just rolled their eyes. But since it was you, Namjoon wasn't gonna say no, now was he?
Behind Namjoon's car, Hana sat patiently in her van, wondering what you both were talking about. She hadn't been able to gather much information about you but she definitely knew she didn't like how Namjoon was growing to like you. All those years, she held back from going after her best friend but now her regrets knew no bounds. Revving the engine, Hana clenched her jaw and began to trail behind, hoping that maybe she'll bring an end to this little fairytale.

"I'll fucking rip your arm off if you touch her again."
Namjoon seethed, Yoongi's hand stopping him from beating the man who touched you. His breathing was heavy, eyes filled with anger and betrayal. His mind was a storm of emotions and questions, those that needed to be answered by you.
Your heart was pounding at a dangerous speed, eyes fixated on Namjoon's clenched jaw and furious eyes. Whether he was angry at you or the drunk man, you couldn't tell. But you definitely knew that what you had done was stupid. It was very naïve of you to think that you could have hidden things from Namjoon, the man who was letting you stay with him. The least you could have done was be honest, because if you really thought about it, what could he possibly do? It's not like he would demean you for taking up the job. No. That wasn't Namjoon.
Then why did you hide it?
Because you care about your image in his eyes.
You swallowed thickly, looking away just as Namjoon's eyes met yours. Namjoon began questioning himself, his heart sinking at the thought of you not wanting to share things with him. Had he not made you comfortable enough, yet? Had he not let you know that he was really willing to take care of every need of yours? He pursed his lips, watching you with sheer intensity as you tried to find your way out of the situation at hand.
The people around you had stopped to see what was going on, some of them gasping in surprise. You assumed it was because everyone knew who Namjoon was. The only problem, your definition of who he was didn't quite match with the others. You clutched the sides of your skirt tightly, peeking at Namjoon through your lashes. You opened your mouth to say something but you caught Yoongi shaking his head in your peripheral vision, your lips immediately clamping shut.
"There's something I need to deal with, take care of everything else." Namjoon said, eyes fixed on you even though his words were directed towards Yoongi. You glanced at Isla over your shoulder, her wide eyes making you frown. Before you could ask her anything, you felt a warm hand wrap around your wrist, a gasp leaving your mouth as Namjoon pulled you behind him. Everyone parted to make way for him, your anxious eyes staring at the back of his head. You helplessly stumbled on your feet, aware of all the spectators who were probably wondering who you were since they already seemed to know about Namjoon. You spotted your manager near the bulky door of the club, his lips parted in conflict as he quietly let you get dragged out of your workplace.
∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆
Namjoon's patience was wearing thin. His fingers tightly held onto your wrist as he guided you back inside his house. The car ride seemed to be going on forever, and Namjoon swore his house wasn't even that far from the club. He didn't know anything about Hana's situation but he couldn't bring himself to care much either. He was more focused on you and the short skirt you were wearing as part of your uniform. It irked him to know that you had been working like that in front of all those drunk and disgusting men without his knowledge. Sure, Namjoon was being overprotective but it was a natural trait that he acquired while staying with you. He didn't know how many men had tried to touch you inappropriately, but the thought alone was enough to aggravate him.
The door of the house was thrown open, Namjoon storming in with you hot on his heels. You gasped when Namjoon let go of your hand, nudging you forward into the living room where the clock struck 11. Your chest heaved with nervousness, your fingers fiddling with each other as you bit your lip harshly. The house was quiet, indicating that Sangmin had left for the night.
"Are you hurt?"
You frowned, not expecting that question at all. You slowly turned around, making eye contact with Namjoon as he examined you with his arms crossed. The little hues of concern in his eyes made you lose your attention for a second. After everything, that was the first thing he wanted to know? Namjoon was clearly making it hard for you to ignore your growing feelings towards him. Why did he have to be so considerate?
You shook your head, earning a curt nod from him before he nudged his head towards the couch. Reluctantly, you took a seat on the plush velvet couch, heartbeat speeding up at the stoic expression on Namjoon's face. Whatever traces of worry he had, all of it had been replaced by coldness which made you shudder. You didn't like how scared you felt.
"Why did you get that job, Y/N? Actually, scratch that. Why did you lie to me?" Namjoon questioned, a very betrayed frown sitting on his brows. He was trying to come up with reasons so that he wouldn't be too mad at you, but there were none. The only thing he could conclude was that you didn't trust him and that made him more sad than angry. With all the courage you could muster, you let out a shaky breath before speaking in a small voice.
"Because I knew you wouldn't like it."
Your answer left Namjoon puzzled but warm, sending his heart into a fluttering mess. He couldn't bring himself to respond, having an internal conflict on what exactly he should say next.
When Namjoon didn't say anything, you glanced at him to find him staring at you with an expression you couldn't decipher. You assumed you should just get over with your explanation. That'd definitely make you feel less burdened.
"And about the job. I- It pays well, even if it's not exactly appropriate for me. I don't want you to think that I'm some..gold digger." Namjoon narrowed his eyes, his fists clenching at your statement. Is that what you thought? He scoffed, standing up straighter and walking towards you. He towered over you, probably coming off as a little intimidating but he didn't care. You craned your neck to look up at him, your breath faltering at the way he glared at you. For reasons unknown to you, your body burned, your hands clenching around the material of your skirt and exposing more of your thighs.
"I am the one who asked you to stay. If I didn't want you to be here, you'd be far gone, Y/N." He stated, his voice a notch deeper than usual. You weren't gonna lie, Namjoon looked way more handsome at the moment. The gray suit jacket that he wore, was doing him a lot of justice. Namjoon bent down to your level, placing a hand behind you on the backrest. He was damn close to you, his warm breath hitting your lips as you looked away. You felt your cheeks growing warm, your breathing growing heavier in anticipation of what was going to happen.
"And do I even want to fucking know how many men have touched you all these days?" He hissed, your eyes shooting up to meet his. Namjoon's cologne was making you intoxicated in a sweet way. You noticed how he had leaned closer to you, your nose almost brushing against his. But you didn't back away. There was a sudden rush of confidence in your mind, affection brewing in your chest for the man in front of you. You had the urge to finish off what had been left incomplete between the two of you.
"Why do you care?" You breathed, Namjoon's jaw clenching at your question. Your eyes were so innocently staring into his that Namjoon wanted to rip that innocence away from you. He realised that this anger that he was feeling, it was an aftermath of not being able to kiss you like he wanted to. After seeing those men eyeing you like you were a meal, Namjoon felt more riled up. Because for him, you were already his. No other man had the right to look at you or even think about doing things to you. He was the only one who was gonna have the pleasure of ravishing you. Namjoon's free hand found it's way to your waist, pulling you flush against him. You gasped, your butt no more on the couch as you grasped onto his shoulders to keep you from falling. Your nose was touching his, your lips only an inch away.
"Why do I care? I'll show you why I fucking care."
The next thing you knew, Namjoon's lips were pressed against yours, his fingers digging into your hips and making you part your lips in surprise. His tongue glided past them, kissing you deeply and passionately. Your eyes fluttered shut as you clenched the collar of his jacket, your knuckles turning white immediately. You tasted like heaven, Namjoon couldn't bring himself to stop. Now that he had kissed you, he found himself wanting more. Your lips were soft and delicate against his, a low growl leaving Namjoon's mouth as he kissed you like he had been craving you forever. Running out of breath, you pulled back abruptly but that didn't stop Namjoon at all. It was as if he had been put under a spell, his lips trailing down your jaw and nipping at your skin.
"Namjoon..." You gasped, your back hitting the couch as he lowered you down. The mellow tone of your voice drove Namjoon crazy, he felt the need to do more. But he knew he couldn't take it too far. Not yet anyway.
A whimper escaped your mouth on feeling Namjoon sucking on your neck, your fingers tangling in his hair and pulling at the strands. Your veins were buzzing with adrenaline. You couldn't even begin to describe how turned on you were. Namjoon pulled away slightly, glancing at the beautiful colours tainting your skin. He caught his breath, absolutely satisfied with his art as he hovered over you. Seeing your shocked expression, he was about to sputter a string of apologies. He didn't know what had come over him, but he definitely didn't want to catch you off guard.
"I'm..."
He trailed off, his eyes taking in your wide eyes and swollen lips. There was a gush of emotions in him, his finger involuntarily caressing your cheek as he felt your hands loosening their grip on his hair before completely falling by your sides.
"...not sorry."
Namjoon leaned down to kiss your forehead, stroking your cheek one last time before walking away and disappearing out of your sight. You simply laid still on the couch, staring at the ceiling and catching your breath while you let your fingers wander to the mark on your neck. This was the first time you had seen what Namjoon was capable of. The aura of possessiveness that surrounded him was attractive yet scary. You really wanted to get out of his life but there was something making you stay. You had never been so conflicted before.
If they found out you were genuinely falling for Namjoon then.....

Wrap me in the softest love I have ever known, show me that I'm not alone.

---------------------------------------
"She's heading to Club Delirium tonight. I eavesdropped on a conversation she was secretly having so don't ask me how I know." Rex announced, entering the conference room with a shit-eating grin on his face. Even after not having gotten enough sleep the previous night, he felt energetic and excited. All the credit belonged to Hana and her secret, of course.
Who knew a mafia leader's best friend was gonna be an undercover cop?
Namjoon sat with his head buried in his hands, his brain still trying to process everything. It wasn't just him though, every single person in the room was just as shocked as him. How did they not know? All the questions they had regarding Hana's disappearance had just been answered and no one was happy about it. Namjoon was affected, yes, but so was Jungkook.
The latter's eyes were bloodshot, his lips pale and his hands clenched as if he would knock out the next person who spoke. He felt so betrayed and lost. At first, when Rex had told him that the guy Hana met was Nelson Shaw, he had no idea who that was. But later on, as he was fed all the information, he began to connect the dots. The guy who had broken into Namjoon's house was Nelson Shaw, the same guy who Hana met and worked with. His so called sister like friend, was a police officer, trying her best to bring them down.
Jungkook slammed his fist on the table, making Rex flinch while the others didn't react at all. Rex's eyes were wide, wondering why no one else moved a muscle because Jungkook was definitely scary when angry. They were probably used to it.
"We'll get her red handed then. Alert the bouncers at the club." Yoongi voiced, earning a nod from Taehyung who quickly walked out of the room to carry out the task.
Namjoon couldn't even begin to express how mad he was. There were still questions that he wanted answers to, but he didn't even wanna look at her anymore. It was early in the morning when he had gotten a call from Hoseok, asking him to come over for an emergency. The dull tone of hoseok's voice was definitely concerning but Namjoon wasn't expecting this. That's why Shaw broke into his house. To find dirt on him and turn him in. Well, too bad. Hana was out of the game now.
Jimin chuckled bitterly, all eyes turning to him questioningly. Namjoon slowly looked up, glaring at Jimin as if to ask what was so funny. Rex raised an eyebrow, eyes flickering over to Namjoon. He could smell drama already and he wished he had popcorn. Even though he knew you-
"Tell us, Namjoon. Did you know about this?"
Jimin asked, a bitter smile planted on his lips. Namjoon frowned, tilting his head to convey that he had no idea what Jimin was trying to say. Jin sighed, closing his eyes momentarily to keep himself in check. "Jimin, just because Hana was his best friend-"
"Forget it. Let's just get over with this Hana bullshit first." Jimin interrupted, standing up abruptly and rushing out of the room. Namjoon made a mental note to talk to Jimin about this later, standing up and proceeding to go home for a while. He placed a hand on Jungkook's shoulder, squeezing it tightly to let him know that he understood what it felt like. Jungkook glanced up at his elder, nodding absentmindedly. Jungkook still wanted to ask Namjoon about you but he figured this wasn't the right time, no matter how angry he was about being left in the dark.
"Delirium at 9. I'll see you all then." Namjoon said, glancing at everyone before leaving to go back to you.
_____________________________________________
You eyed the man in the kitchen, watching his every move as he cleaned the counters passionately. You had woken up in the morning to find Namjoon gone and this new butler in the house. It was quite amusing how there was a new butler already, Walter having left just the previous night. Namjoon must be really superior, you concluded, sipping on your cup of coffee.
Your fingers grazed the bandage on your forehead, memories from last night still burning in your mind. You missed Namjoon and the way he had held you. It was as if he was trying to shield you from everything bad in the world. You couldn't understand what was going on but you certainly liked him. And now that you thought about it, it seemed inevitable. A man like him surely had many admirers. You were just another one in the crowd.
You heard the front door slam shut, your body flinching in surprise as you turned around in your seat. Namjoon entered the living room, his eyes glaring at everything that came in his way. Work must have been hard on him.
"You came back early, today." You said, smiling at him softly when he looked at you with slightly wide eyes. His expression changed within a second, the frown on his eyebrows now smoothed out completely and his lips flashing you a small smile. His legs dragged him towards you and he sat beside you, glancing at the new butler.
Sangmin was here on Rex's recommendation. According to the boy, Sangmin was as skilled as a man his age could be. Due to the urgency, Namjoon decided to take him in. Hopefully, you'd be in better hands whenever Namjoon wasn't at home.
Namjoon sighed and closed his eyes, leaning his head on the backrest. He was stressed and anxious, the upcoming events wearing him out completely. He wasn't ready to know why Hana was doing what she was doing. Did 16 years of friendship suddenly mean nothing to her? Did she forget everything that she had promised him?
"Namjoon, have you ever danced?" Your voice ran in his ears, making him immediately look at you as if you were an alien. He slowly registered your words in his brain, wondering why you would ask something like that out of the blue?
"Danced? Does head banging when I was home alone at the age of 9 count?"
You ended up throwing your head back and laughing, almost imagining what it would look like. Namjoon grinned, satisfied with the response he got from you, his heart melting at the way your eyes closed shut and crinkled. For sometime, he completely forgot the situation he was currently in. He didn't care that Hana betrayed him. He didn't care that he had lost a best friend. He just didn't care.
You stood up and proceeded to place your empty coffee cup in the kitchen, running back out and stretching your hand out to Namjoon. Namjoon frowned, eyes flickering between your face and your hand. He hesitantly placed his hand on yours, only to have you push it away.
"As much as I like your hands, I actually want your phone." You stated, shaking your hand to make him hurry up. Namjoon pulled out his phone and handed it to you after unlocking it. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees and watching you as you stuck your tongue out and connected his phone to the music player at the corner of the room.
You were only trying to distract Namjoon from whatever was bothering him. Namjoon wasn't very good at hiding his despair and you understood that. His shoulders would always sulk and his smile would never quite reach his eyes. It felt bad to see him sad, knowing that you were of no help at all. So here you were, searching up a song and pressing the play button before leaving it on top of the music player. With a deep inhale, you turned around and slowly walked towards Namjoon, stretching your hand out again.
"May I have this dance, Mr Kim?" Namjoon chuckled, standing up and shaking his head. From what he had seen in movies, he knew he was supposed to be the one asking. So he bowed in front of you and placed his palm forward, glancing up at you with all the affection he could gather. Your heart fluttered, a shy smile dancing on your lips as you gently placed your hand in his. If you thought that was the best thing Namjoon could have done, then you were wrong because the next thing you knew, his lips were pressed against the back of your hand.
Keep your cool, Y/N.
You told yourself, ignoring the way Namjoon's eyes gazed at you. So much attention was surely gonna be the death of you. You bit your lip harshly to stop the grin from showing itself, Namjoon's hands finding their way to your waist. You were definitely shocked at how much Namjoon already knew.
The silence of the room had been replaced by the soft chords of a guitar, your eyes lighting up when a male voice filled your ears. This was one song that you used to listen to whenever you felt lonely and lost, pretending that you did have someone who loved you. That was far from reality when your life was all about being used like a rag but it was different now. Perhaps you could find someone who really loved you.
Maybe that person was right in front of you.
You swayed with your arms around Namjoon's neck, his feet moving in sync with yours.
Settle down with me, cover me up, cuddle me in.
Lie down with me and hold me, in your arms.
Namjoon swore his heart was being too fuzzy now. He hadn't felt this way before. Not even when he had a crush on Hana. It was so intense that Namjoon had to convince himself that he wasn't in love. At least not yet. But was he even being honest with himself?
And your heart's against my chest, your lips pressed to my neck.
I'm falling for your eyes, but they don't know me yet.
Your body was pressed against Namjoon's, your heart pounding in your chest. Your cheeks were too warm now and you felt dizzy. The air was thick, but not in an uncomfortable way. You could feel Namjoon's breath on your face, your eyes stuck on his. Life hated you, yes, but you weren't so sure anymore. After surviving your entire childhood, you were finally living. With a man who had a kind heart and was willing to do a lot for you. There was no way you would ever be able to repay him for everything he had done for you so far. At least not in this life.
And with a feeling I'll forget, I'm in love now.
Namjoon leaned closer, every ounce of self control having been lost. All he could think about now was how perfect you were. His eyes were now fixed on your lips, already thinking how good they would feel against his. He promised himself that he wasn't gonna let you go, no matter how many more lies he was gonna have to spew. No matter how many secrets he was gonna have to hide. Because you belonged with him. You were saving him and you didn't know that.
Kiss me like you wanna be loved
You wanna be loved. You wanna be loved.
You took in a shaky breath when Namjoon's hand cupped your cheek, tucking your hair behind your ear. Your hands tightly held on to each other behind his neck, your chest heaving in nervousness. You wanted this. You wanted him to kiss you. You wanted him to show you that you weren't broken. You moved your hands to the back of his head, your fingers tangling in his hair as you hesitantly pulled him towards you. You closed your eyes, his lips barely an inch away from yours. Just as Namjoon was about to close the little distance that remained, a loud clang echoed through the room, making you both flinch and pull away.
Your head whipped towards the kitchen, your eyes falling on the utensil that lay on the ground. Namjoon cursed under his breath, rubbing his forehead with his fingers. So damn close.
He clenched his jaw and walked towards the kitchen, glaring at Sangmin as you followed behind. "Sorry, Mr Kim. It slipped from my fingers." The man bowed, your head shaking in response to his apology. It was a mistake and nothing had been damaged anyway.
"That's okay. Don't worry about it. It's time for me to leave for work so I'll go get ready." You stated, turning on your heels and rushing towards your room. Your cheeks were hot and your breathing was uneven. You tapped your cheeks to pull yourself back to reality, scowling at your heart which was uncontrollably fluttering in your chest.
You closed the door to your room, leaning your back against it and sighing in relief. You weren't gonna deny the fact that you were disappointed, your work uniform mocking you from your bed. Things could have happened but here you were, dragging yourself to work without letting Namjoon know anything about your job. You pursed your lips and pulled your hair up, getting ready to go and cover your shift at Club Delirium.

It is said that time heals all wounds. Maybe this statement was applicable in many situations. Maybe time did heal shallow wounds. But yours were too deep for anyone to heal. And life seemed to hate you since you were constantly being pushed back into your whole past ordeal.
The rain poured down heavily, pelting against the windows of Namjoon's house. It had been a week since you got a job. A job that Namjoon didn't know of. You couldn't deny the fact that you felt terrified when you worked there. The hungry and drunk gazes of all the men made you feel like you were back at your own house, waiting for your father to punish you for the day.
Although, your father had never touched you inappropriately, he had definitely tried to sell you for your body. That was the most disgusting memory you had and it made you question if life was this unfair to everyone. Looking at Namjoon, you had found your answer.
Life hated you.
You switched off the TV and headed towards your room, concluding that you needed a nap to get rid of the headache you had. It was your day off so you didn't have to worry about going to work without letting Namjoon tag along. He had been persistent, always offering to pick you up or drop you off.
"Your shift is too late into the night. It's not safe."
He'd say. But you couldn't tell him. He couldn't know that your desperation to earn money like a normal person had led you to get a job as a waitress at a club.
"I'll be in my room, Walter. Wake me up when dinner's ready or I'll end up sleeping until tomorrow." You said politely, earning a toothy grin from the old man who resided in this house since before you. He nodded at you and you waved him a goodbye, making your way upstairs.
As soon as you steeped foot in the dark hallway, a shiver ran down your spine. It was very dark, apart from the occasional flashes of lightning that lightened up the corridor. Times like these made you miss Namjoon. Lately, he had been going out frequently in the evenings. He would always tell you it was work stuff but you never asked. It was none of your business.
You motivated yourself and started to walk towards the end of the hallway, the faint noise coming from Namjoon's study making you halt your steps. You frowned and craned your neck towards his study, eyes widening a little on seeing the light coming from beneath the door.
There was definitely someone in there.
You took in a shaky breath, your heart pounding at the realisation that you had to go and check. Whoever it was, they were probably looking for something important to Namjoon. And you knew that everything in that room was important to Namjoon since he never let anyone in. Why you were an exception was beyond you. But then again, you were harmless.
Your hand reached out to twist the doorknob and push the door open, your throat running dry all of a sudden. Adrenaline rushed through you when you saw the window open, the harsh cold wind fanning your face as goosebumps rose on your skin. You looked around the room, sighing in relief on seeing it empty. There was no one. You were probably going crazy.
Namjoon must have left the window open or something.
Does he ever do that?
You willed the doubtful thoughts away and proceeded to close the window. But as soon as you latched it shut, your eyes widened. The glass on the window was enough to show you that your mind wasn't playing tricks on you. Someone was in the room with you.
Your lips quivered, your legs feeling weaker with every passing second. The man had a black mask on, only his eyes exposed for you to see. Your eyes caught the silver dagger in his hand as he moved to close the door of the study. You let out a whimper before slowly turning around, sweat beading on your forehead.
The man placed a finger on his lips, indicating you to be quiet. He took a step towards you, clutching the knife tightly and raising it towards you.
And just like that, you were taken back in time.
The intruder's face was now replaced by your father's, his malicious grin sending you sobbing onto the floor. Your chest tightened and you found yourself tied up in chains.
"No one would care if I killed you. You are useless, Y/N, never forget that." He spat, your vision becoming hazier and hazier.
No, you couldn't do this now. You closed your eyes and took deep breaths, telling yourself that this wasn't true. He wasn't here. He would never be here.
You gasped and opened your eyes only to find the carpeted floor of Namjoon's study beneath your knees. You saw the intruder's feet in front of you and looked up, your chest heaving on thinking about what was to come.

Namjoon eyed the new addition to their gang as he sat beside Yoongi in the front of the car. After a long day of negotiations, he was finally going home to you.
"So do I get to be in charge of something yet?" Asked Rex, the newbie of the group who Namjoon didn't know where to put. According to Jin, Rex was really smart, he had good weapon knowledge along with hacking skills. Jin said it'd be better if Rex got to watch how things were done by the guys themselves. Until then, Namjoon could make a decision about which part of the city Rex was fit for.
He was a curious one, Namjoon could tell. And he had a smart mouth which could definitely get him in trouble someday. Taehyung scoffed, rolling his eyes and focusing on the wet roads outside.
"Not so soon, kid. You have a long way to go until you get there." Hoseok answered, fiddling with his rings and listening to the soothing sound of the rain.
Namjoon's eyes lit up when he saw his house in the distance and Yoongi noticed it. He had never seen Namjoon so excited to go home before. But he knew things were different now.
The car came to a stop near Namjoon's gate, the gravel crunching beneath Namjoon's shoes as he got out of the car. He was about to say something to the members before he heard it. A loud and piercing screen echoing in the dark and stormy night. Namjoon's heart most definitely stopped, his eyes widening as he glanced at Yoongi before running inside his house. The remaining people rushed out of the car to follow Namjoon, concerned about whoever had screamed so loud.
Namjoon had heard it loud and clear. It was your voice, begging for help. He felt uneasiness wash over him as he saw Walter running up the stairs, his own footsteps faltering on the wooden platforms.
"Please be okay." Namjoon mumbled again and again under his breath as he entered his study, his eyes frantically looking around for you. Your whimpers reached his ears and he saw you crouched in the corner of the room, your hands holding your head as you cried into your knees.
"Y/N!" Namjoon called out, kneeling beside you and placing his hands on your shoulder. You flinched before jolting your head up to see Namjoon.
Your eyes were red from crying, tears endlessly falling down your cheeks along with a trickle of blood from the small laceration on your forehead. Your lips quivered as you threw your arms around Namjoon, burying your face in his neck.
Yoongi stormed inside a few seconds later, followed by the others. He glanced at you and Namjoon at the corner of the room before speeding towards the open window. He peeked down just in time to see a man running away towards the forest opposite Namjoon's house. Yoongi looked behind him, his eyes landing on Rex.
"Rex, someone's down there. Go!" He barked, watching as the younger male nodded and ran away.
Namjoon's arms held you firmly, rubbing your back as he tried to comfort you. "I got you, love, I got you. You're okay." He cooed, rocking you back and forth. He buried his nose in your hair, breathing you in and thanking the heavens that you weren't hurt that bad. He threw a piercing glare at Walter who stood at the door, still too shocked to move.
Namjoon was aware of the fact that now his secret was out in the open.
Taehyung and Hoseok gaped at their leader who was trying to comfort a crying girl. An unknown crying girl. They were surprised on seeing Yoongi so....normal. It's like he already knew who you were. There was no questioning look on Yoongi's face, just a knowing gaze that made Hoseok suspicious. Something was not right.
Namjoon glanced at Yoongi, sending him a silent message as Yoongi nodded in response. The elder one turned to Taehyung and Hoseok, nodding towards outside the study.
"Let Namjoon handle this. I'll...explain everything." Yoongi stated, not even glancing at the two men as he made his way down the stairs. After one last look at you, Taehyung and Hoseok followed suit, curious as to what Yoongi could possibly explain about this situation.
Walter reluctantly closed the door of the study, leaving you with Namjoon in order to self loathe. But there was only so much he could do.
Your breathing slowly fell back to normal, your occasional sniffles filling the room as Namjoon continued to hold you. He had never thought that someone could get into his house so easily. It had just never happened before.
"I am sorry." You mumbled, making Namjoon shift a little to get you to see his face. He frowned, wiping your tears away.
"What for?" He asked, tucking your hair behind your ear. In the past week, you had grown much closer to Namjoon. Your time together had enabled you to know about his likes and dislikes. Like how he doesn't like black coffee, how his favourite music artist is 'The Neighbourhood', how he hates mint chocolate chip ice cream and how he absolutely dislikes seafood.
You opened your mouth to get the words out but they were stuck. Namjoon noticed your hesitation, raising his eyebrows to urge you to say it.
"For ruining your jacket." You replied, running your fingers over his leather jacket which was now wet. He chuckled in response, placing a finger under your chin and pushing your head up to look you in the eyes. His warm breath fanned your face, the proximity making you blush. Not that he could really see you, it was still a little dim in the room. His eyes fell to your lips, debating whether he should take the risk or wait until you showed him that you wanted him too. You bit your lip out of nervousness, your heart pounding in your ears. All you knew was that if Namjoon kissed you right now, you wouldn't complain. Everything about him seemed to pull you in, never wanting to be away from him. You couldn't tell what it was but you definitely adored this man.
"We should clean that up." Namjoon murmured, abruptly pulling away from you. He had decided to go with the second option, not wanting to make you uncomfortable in any way. You cleared your throat and nodded, ignoring the slight aching in your heart.
You are just a charity case. Stop dreaming.
Namjoon stood up, his hands holding onto your shoulder as he helped you up to sit on the chair.
Taking the first aid kit from one of the cabinets in the bathroom, Namjoon headed back to you and sat in front of you. He tended to your bleeding cut while you got lost in your own thoughts, your father's murderous face flashing in your mind and reminding you of your misery.
Life hated you.

Rex panted, water seeping into the carpet from his drenched body as he made his way to Yoongi who was looking at him with expectant eyes. Rex shook his head in response.
"And you wanted to be in charge of something?" Taehyung mocked, his mind irritated with all the information he was just fed.
Rex narrowed his eyes in response, holding out his hand to reveal a black leather cover. Yoongi frowned and took it from him, wiping the small booklet with the sleeve of his shirt.
"What is it?" Hoseok asked, peering over Yoongi's shoulder to see what blaze had got his hands on. Flipping the leather case open, Taehyung frowned when he saw Yoongi and Hoseok's face turn pale. Rex looked over at everyone with concerned eyes, his mind going back to the girl he had seen upstairs. You.
"I ended up ripping off his pocket. This is what I got. And I think this is the first time I regret finding something important." Rex stated, his hands placed on his hips as he patiently waited for a reaction from everyone.
Taehyung grew impatient, snatching the case out of Yoongi's hand and seeing it for himself. The second he read what was written on the cover, he wished he hadn't. Rex was right. Taehyung slowly looked up at his brothers, fear and confusion lacing his features.
The Korean National Police Agency
Yoongi shook his head and clenched his jaw in frustration. Only if they had arrived a minute earlier, this could have been prevented. But now, they had no idea what the guy was here for.
"Who's ID is that?" Yoongi asked, nudging his head towards the badge in Taehyung's hand.
"Someone called Nelson Shaw." Taehyung answered, looking at the small photo that was displayed above the officer's name.
"Let's get our contacts at the department to find out if this Shaw guy is involved in some investigation related to us." Yoongi said, glancing up the stairs. Hoseok felt confused about everything.
First, there's a strange girl living at Namjoon's house who he picked up from the middle of the road. And she happens to be their drug dealer's daughter. Second, Hana seemingly lied to everyone about where she was all these years. Third, the police had probably gotten a lead on the gang, which meant bad news.
"We should ask Namjoon if anything's missing." Hoseok voiced, earning a nod from everyone. Yoongi hummed, standing up and patting Rex's shoulder. He winced a little at how wet he was but quickly covered it up. He was the one who sent the poor guy running.
"We will. Just...not now. Leave them be. We'll talk tomorrow. She must be shaken up about everything." Yoongi announced, heading outside Namjoon's house. Taehyung couldn't help but agree. Even though he had questions about you, he decided that it was best to listen to Yoongi. Something nagged at him at the back of his mind but he shrugged it off. Namjoon knew people. If you were here, then there must have been something special about you. And the way Namjoon held you, Taehyung could tell that your relationship was much deeper. Maybe he'd understand someday.

Walter stood frozen in the kitchen, leaning on the counter with his arms crossed. In all his years of staying with Namjoon, he had never made a mistake. He had protected Namjoon like his family, at least whenever he got the chance.
So how did he let you get hurt?
It wasn't really his fault since he had no idea that there was someone else in the house. But maybe this was a sign that he had to stop. Maybe he was too old now and his stiff muscles weren't of much use. He was just glad that you weren't hurt too bad.
Walter stared at the wall in front of him, trying not to be too bothered by Namjoon who was now standing by the doorway. Namjoon didn't want to do this at all. But somehow, your life had become very valuable to him. Especially when you clutched on to him, refusing to let go as if you'd drown. It didn't need to be said but Namjoon felt like he had to save you. He needed to save you. And he needed to be saved by you.
Namjoon sighed, glancing at his feet and walking towards the old man stood in the big open kitchen.
"Wal-"
"I'm sorry."
Namjoon pursed his lips, his eyes burning at the emotions that were welling up in him. Walter looked sad and Namjoon knew he was beating himself down. But there was only so much he could do. Lately, all his decisions were actuated by your safety.
With a shaky breath, Namjoon muttered the words he never thought he'd say.
"I think it's time to let you go."
Walter didn't react. Even if he was sad, he didn't let it show. This was bound to happen. Namjoon had only said his thoughts out loud. Things could have been harder if Walter didn't want this. Gratefully, he was okay with this.
Namjoon was caught off guard when Walter simply nodded in response.
Guess this really had to happen.
Hesitantly, Namjoon stretched his hand out, giving Walter a tight lipped smile. The latter immediately took it, holding onto it like his life depended on it. Walter's eyes were red and Namjoon had to endure the pain in his chest.
"I hope you find someone who still has his muscles intact." Walter joked, making Namjoon smile at him. Certainly, this wasn't needed. But Namjoon wasn't only doing this for you. He was doing this so that the older man could live the rest of his life in peace, unbothered by the troubles that Namjoon seemed to bring home with him. It was good yet bad but this was progress in Namjoon's eyes. He was finally doing something for someone else. No selfish intentions. No regrets.
With one final goodbye, the doors to Namjoon's house had closed behind Walter, telling him that there was no going back now. It was done. Namjoon was safe in the house with you and hopefully, you'd take care of him too. Putting on his black fedora, Walter walked away into the night, not looking back once.
Namjoon sighed, resting his forehead against the closed door, wondering if this was the right thing to do. He had to hire someone else now. Yes it would take time to build the same amount of trust again but better safe than sorry.
"Are you okay, Namjoon?"
Your sweet voice made Namjoon turn around in an instant, his eyes taking in your confused and concerned expression. You stood at the bottom of the staircase, your hand resting on the wooden railing while the other clutched the bottom of the t-shirt that was too big for you. Namjoon's heart swelled. It was his.
He took a step towards you, giving you a faint smile. You could tell that this incident had worn him out more than it had affected you. The tired eyes and the exhausted smile of his corroborated your assumptions.
"I thought you must have fallen asleep by now." He said, patiently waiting for you to answer him. You shrugged, taking a step away from the staircase. "Couldn't sleep."
Namjoon nodded in response, proceeding to sit on the couch. He buried his face in his hands, sighing on feeling the place beside him dip. You frowned and rested your cheek on the palm of your hand, your elbow sitting on your knee. Namjoon was certainly not okay and you knew it was due to Walter's absence. You wanted to tell him that you had heard everything but maybe it was best if you didn't talk about this. Instead, you opted for placing your hand on his back, rubbing it soothingly. Namjoon looked at you, his eyes red and glossy. Something inside you ached, your heart begging you to make him feel okay. But you didn't know how. Even though you had problems of your own, Namjoon didn't need to hear about them. What he really wanted was for you to give him solace and comfort.
"Let me be here for you, Namjoon." You pleaded, his eyes closing shut on hearing your words. Clearly, things were beginning to take a toll on him but he refused to let it show.
"I'm okay, Y/N. I- I'm just fine." He assured you, giving you a sympathetic smile. You pursed your lips, reluctantly nodding and standing up.
"If it's not too much, could you..." You trailed off, biting down on your lip in uncertainty. Namjoon noticed your hesitation and stood up, towering over you and raising his eyebrows to urge you on.
Your cheeks grew warm, your eyes frantically looking around the room before you said it out loud.
"...could you sleep with me? Just for tonight?" You asked in a small voice, peering up at Namjoon through your lashes. Namjoon let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head in amusement. For a second, he had grown worried, nonsensical thoughts filling up his mind but here you were, asking him if he could keep you company. Of course he would.
Namjoon nodded, his dimples beaming at you. You mentally sighed in relief and hesitantly held his hand, intertwining your fingers with his. You looked up at him, flashing him the smile that he was falling for. As you led him upstairs, Namjoon's worries disappeared into nothing. He decided to let things go for now. Whoever had broken in will pay for hurting you. Namjoon was gonna make sure of it.

"I'm sorry but what are we doing?" Rex hissed, trying to keep his voice low and inaudible. It was probably really late into the night when he was woken up by Jungkook to follow Hana. Rex was pissed at first, wondering if this was even worth compromising his sleep for. But his love for adventures was far bigger than that for his sleep. Obviously, Jeon Jungkook must have something in mind if he wanted to do this.
Everyone was now aware about your existence, mixed feelings brewing in each member's heart. Some were happy that Namjoon found someone who wasn't related to this darkness that they had to live in. Some were sad that Namjoon hadn't trusted them enough but Jungkook. He felt betrayed, as if he had been cheated on. It wasn't just that. His emotions had been riled up by Hana, whose eyes looked empty since she found out about you. Jungkook had always thought Namjoon would end up with Hana and they'll all be happy but no. In a span of four years, Namjoon had managed to get over her. That's the only possible explanation.
Jungkook was worried when he saw Hana leaving in the middle of the night without telling anyone. She thought she was being discreet but Jungkook was sitting in the darkness of the living room, watching her like a hawk. He couldn't just leave her alone at a time like this so he decided to follow her. Unfortunately, Rex was the only person he saw as backup incase they were attacked.
It was cold, Rex's fingers were numb and he just wanted to go back to sleep. Jungkook didn't respond, his eyes fixed on Hana's figure as she waited at the corner of an alley. Time kept ticking and Rex concluded that this was actually boring. He had thought they'd encounter some villains but what a joke.
They were the villains here.
"Look, I don't think watching a girl, who just wanted to take a walk, is fun. So I'll be heading back now." Rex smiled sarcastically and waved at Jungkook, walking in the opposite direction when Jungkook grabbed the back of his jacket and pulled him.
"If you'd actually pay attention, you'll see that she's not just taking a walk anymore." Jungkook mumbled, his hand still gripping Rex's jacket while he hopelessly tried to make him let go. Giving up, he turned his neck and saw that Hana was now talking to a man. He narrowed his eyes and tried to get a good look at who it was.
Meanwhile, Jungkook wasn't expecting any of this. He had simply thought that Hana was too shocked by the revelation of Namjoon and his plaything. Because that's what you were to Jungkook, a plaything that Namjoon would leave once he realised that it had been Hana all along. And he had come here to tell Hana the same thing but tables had turned. It was now Jungkook who was being fed new information. It seemed like Hana knew the man because now they were exchanging something. It was small and black but that was all Jungkook could see. The streetlights weren't the best either since the man's face wasn't very visible.
Jungkook could make out the cautious expression on Hana's face, an unwanted feeling nagging at him. This was all suspicious and Jungkook didn't know what to do. Should he just confront her? Or should he wait until he found out who the man is?
Their conversation seemed to end, for the man turned around and started walking away. That's when the streetlight completely brightened up the man's face, making Rex's jaw drop and Jungkook's eyebrows furrow. Jungkook was just confused. He didn't know this man at all. But Rex. He had seen this face before all too well on a laminated ID.
"No fucking way!"

Namjoon could tell that the day wasn't in his favour at all. Since the previous night, he had to endure a countless number of surprises. The revelation that Hana was actually on the run from a gang who called themselves 'The Black Serpents', was one of them. Namjoon remembered that gang very well. This gang was the one he was busy killing on the night of Hana's disappearance.
They had taken her.
They had tortured her for 4 years until she escaped.
Namjoon gritted his teeth and closed his eyes, a heavy silence falling over the living room of the gang's house. Everyone was shocked and guilty. If only they had dug deeper into that gang's whereabouts.
Suddenly, Namjoon stood up and looked at Hana, who was sitting on the couch and trying her best to not cry.
"Find them. I want each and every one of them alive."
Yoongi simply stared at Namjoon, not really believing Hana's story.
"Didn't we actually kill the entire gang that night?" Hoseok asked, frowning in confusion as everyone nodded in agreement. Except Namjoon and Jungkook.
"No one ever dies in our world. You think you killed someone until they come back alive the next day." Jungkook replied, staring intently at the sun which was beginning to set.
It had been hours since they came to the gang house with Namjoon. Hours since Hana began to narrate her story, which according to Jungkook, sounded pretty accurate.
Everyone's mind was a mess. They didn't know what to believe and what not to believe. Everything sounded so right yet so wrong.
"I'm sorry for everything you had to go through." Hana mumbled, making everyone's head turn to her. Her cheeks were red and stained with tears. Her lips were quivering as she tried to sound normal. But she was far from that at the moment.
Namjoon kneeled down in front of her and placed his hands on her knees, looking into her eyes as she wiped away her tears.
"There's nothing to be sorry about. This wasn't your fault, okay? You're here now and I'm not gonna let anyone touch you." He promised, smiling softly at her. Those words seemed to pierce through her heart as she threw her arms around Namjoon. He caressed her hair and mumbled calming things to her.
Moments like these made the members question their leader's choice. To them, Namjoon seemed so normal at times and it looked like he was born in the wrong family. He didn't belong to the darkness. Not at all.
"I'm glad you're back." Namjoon stated, rubbing Hana's back in soothing circles. She meekly nodded, giving him a broken smile as she pulled away.
Nobody saw it. Nobody but Yoongi. The glint in Hana's eyes was almost negligible but it was there. Yoongi could see through her lies and he was determined to find out what she was hiding. Without a word, he left the house and made mental notes on where to begin.
___________________________________________
"You can start tomorrow. Be here at 7." You nodded at the middle aged man as he handed you your uniform. He was too busy calculating the profits to even acknowledge your 'thank you'. You shook your head and headed out of the dark building, glancing over your shoulder while your mind screamed at you to go back and return the uniform.
It's supposed to be a new start. Why would you wanna throw yourself back into the kind of life you lived before?!
You bit your lip and walked faster, willing the provoking thoughts to leave you alone. What could you do anyway? You needed the money so that you could get out of Namjoon's hair. Because no matter how much he insisted, this wasn't right. You couldn't be a burden to anyone anymore. You wanted to be independent. You wanted to be someone who people looked up to.
Running towards the bus, you got inside just as the doors closed. You handed some change to the ticket collector and proceeded to sit at the last row. The bus was quiet and warm, the low purring of the engine lulling you to sleep.
"You better behave, young lady. That man has paid a fortune for you. If I hear any complaints, you won't like what I'll do to you."
You didn't respond, your fingers busy tugging at the small dress that you had to wear. It wasn't a dress actually. It was more of a lingerie set. Because that's what you were to your father. More of a slut than a daughter.
The door opened and your head jolted up, eyeing the man who stepped in, the smell of his expensive perfume invading your senses. He seemed to be in a good mood but as soon as he saw you, his eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"H-how old are you?" He asked, his eyes raking over your body. You glanced at the floor and bit your lip, knowing that he was probably gonna leave you alone.
"15…" you mumbled, your eyes filling with tears as your heart sank for the nth time on reminding yourself about your life. The man chuckled bitterly.
"That bastard….he was gonna let me do this…. fucking animal." He murmured a string of curses and within a second, he was out the door.
You sighed in relief and hesitantly pulled the blanket on the huge bed up to your neck, covering your exposed body as you cowered further into the headboard. You could hear shouts and curses along with a number of thuds and yelps from outside. And just like that, everything fell silent. You gulped and stared at the closed door, waiting for him to come and pounce on you. After what felt like centuries, the door finally opened to reveal your father standing in front of you with a busted lip and a bruised eye, a long tail of leather trailing after him as you realized that it was a whip. Immediately, you started shaking and crying.
"I didn't do anything ...please don't hurt me…." You begged, clasping your hands in front of you as he moved closer to you. His face was blank and his eyes were cold. This wasn't your father. No. This was a money-hungry man. "Useless is what you are. I should have killed you when your mother died. You deserve this. You deserve this and every single kind of pain that exists in the world…." He mumbled, gripping the whip harshly before letting out a growl of frustration. You screamed as he threw the leather towards you, the harsh material making contact with your skin and leaving a bloody trail behind….
With a sudden jolt, you woke up. Loud gasps left your mouth as sweat beaded on your forehead.
Just a dream. Just a dream.
Your heart was pounding in your chest as you looked out the window, your vision hazy as a tear slipped down your cheek. It was your stop.
You staggered down the last row, making your way to the exit as people stared at you. Everyone looked so angry with you. Like you had committed a crime.
Like you were useless.
Gasps continued to leave your lips as your lungs burned. You managed to get off at your stop, the cold night air making you hiss. Your vision was still blurry, you couldn't make out your surroundings very well. The image of your father kept dancing in your mind. His words playing again and again like a broken record player. You started running as soon as you realized what was wrong with you. You were having a panic attack and Namjoon's house was still pretty far from the bus stop. You couldn't pass out in the middle, it was a long and quiet road. No one would know what happened to you.
Your legs started giving out as you rushed, wincing as you struggled to breathe. Your breathing was heavy and erratic.
No. He isn't here anymore. He can't hurt you.
Your heart yelled at you but the words didn't fit well with you. You could feel bile rising in your throat as you squinted to see Namjoon's house in the distance.
Just a little more.
White spots started covering your vision. You couldn't stand anymore and you felt like you were drowning. A faint noise buzzed in your ear and you turned around to see blinding lights directed towards you. It was a car. You slowly brought your hand up and covered your eyes as an overwhelming pain covered your head. You let out a small whimper before falling to the gravel road, your eyes closing and pulling you to the darkness.

Namjoon paced around in the living room of his house, worry and concern eating him up inside and out. According to Walter, he had come home right after you left for your job hunting. If only he could have come a couple minutes earlier.
Since you didn't have a phone with you, there was no way to get in touch with you. You didn't tell him what kind of jobs you were considering either so he didn't know where to find you. He glanced at the clock, gritting his teeth on seeing the time.
9:30 PM
"Where are you, Y/N?" He mumbled to himself, shaking his head and sitting down on the couch. He was already guilty when he had come to the realisation that he had left you alone without any explanation. He didn't want to do that. He was just caught off guard by Hana's appearance.
Namjoon winced on thinking about what you must have thought when you saw Hana hugging him.
No, Y/N. She's only my best friend.
He felt the need to explain to you. He wasn't in love with you or anything but he wanted to tell you that he isn't playing around. He genuinely and desperately wants to know you.
The ringing of the housebell brought him back to his current situation. Thinking it was you, he rushed to the door and pulled it open.
"Thank God you're ho-Yoongi?"
Namjoon gaped, his eyes trailing down to the body in Yoongi's hands.
You.
"Y/N?!" Namjoon exclaimed as he took you from Yoongi's hands and rushed inside to place you on the couch. You weren't completely unconscious as your incoherent mumbles could still be heard. Namjoon tapped your cheek, trying to get you to open your eyes. He leaned his ear towards your lips, wanting to hear your voice.
"He's never gonna leave me alone…."
Namjoon frowned and brushed your hair away from your face before lifting you up again, your small form fitting perfectly in his arms.
"Walter, get some water. Also, call the doctor. Now!" Namjoon ordered, carrying you up the stairs and into your bedroom. He gently placed you on the bed and covered you with a blanket, rubbing your hands which were freezing in order to keep them warm.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I should've come back sooner."
Meanwhile, Yoongi stood completely shocked. He didn't know who you were when he saw you fainting right in front of his car. Namjoon's house was the closest so he thought he should just take you there. Oh, what a surprise….
Yoongi trudged up the stairs and followed Namjoon's voice into a bedroom, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed.
"She fainted in the middle of the road. She seemed to be struggling to breath. If you must know." Yoongi stated, catching Namjoon's attention who was too busy trying to wake you up.
Namjoon's heart sank after hearing those words. He couldn't know what happened to you unless you woke up and told him but he assumed it was some sort of panic attack. He glanced at Yoongi, not wanting to deal with him at the moment. He knew that he was gonna have to answer Yoongi's questions but he wasn't ready. Cause he didn't have any answers himself.
Yoongi stared at the younger male, enjoying the worrisome look on his face. He guessed that you were the reason behind Namjoon's distracted behaviour these past days. Whatever it was, he was gonna find out sooner or later. For the moment, he just had a name to hold himself back from bombarding Namjoon.

if deception has ost, what would it be?
THIS QUESTION IS SO DAMN WONDERFUL.
So there are a lot of songs that remind me of deception but if I have to give you an accurate one that compliments the story, it would be 'i love you' by Billie Eilish. It won't sound that perfect now but later into the story, you'll find out that the relationship between Y/N and Namjoon is actually very.... unwanted.
'Scary Love' by The neighbourhood is also perfect for Deception, tbh.
