Joseph Desaulnier headcanons

A new series because I'm getting back into the identity v brainrot, I'll also do a hc series for DoL too ^^

Joseph's routine includes staring at himself in the mirror, both in the morning and in the evening, forcing himself to smile, and sometimes he talks to his reflection too, when the illusion of Claude is more powerful than the reality of this action

Him and Vera, when it's their twin’s death anniversary, sit together in one of the drawing rooms of the manor and hold hands, comforting each other in respectful silence. They never cry. Their pride won’t allow it. But they still clutch each other’s hands. Once their mourning time comes to an end, they allow themselves to put away their mask and drink wine, sometimes in the good company of their friends too, like Margaretha and Xie Bi'an.

At one point, he asked Edgar to paint him. He needed an adult version of himself and Claude together. Pictures wouldn’t work. Only at this moment he would allow the ethereal delusion of paintings to mess his mind. Edgar and Vera are the only ones who saw Joseph’s real self.

Joseph is actually an introvert (as in he enjoys company until his social battery runs out). He gets along with Joker, Wu Chang- with a preference for Xie- and Mary, when it comes to the Hunters. He did not expect to see Joker as survivor, too, and he often teases him (not to the point of being rude or harmful though, he likes the lil pathetic guy).

He once asked Geisha if he could take a picture of her while she danced. The first time they tried, she got spooked and the picture portrayed her Prajna form instead of her Beauty form. She chuckled at that, and treasures it greatly as the first gift from the French man.

His grief is crushing him to the point that he took up poetry to better convey his soul’s raw emotions. But he is slowly putting other emotions in his flowery words, too. (this hc comes straight from my own experience with strong grief and longing)

He feels some sort of pity towards Mary, and enjoys dancing with her, drinking tea and showing her pictures of many beautiful things, behaving even more like a gentleman as a way to comfort her. They also bond over how they look younger than they actually are.

Mary - Bloody Queen headcanons

It's now time for her Majesty the queen herself

She retains some of the innocence and naivety of when she was still alive. Because of this, she finds it easier to befriend Robbie, and now, "Memory", too. She feels a sibling-like bond with them, and enjoys acting "childish" when in their company.

She also enjoys Geisha's quiet company. In her, she sees the Countess of Polignac. Whenever Michiko feels like talking, Mary becomes an attentive listener, empathy oozing off of her as the older woman shares her marriage life stories. They were similiar, in a sense.

Maturing after death helped her realize the error of her ways when she was young, but she cannot change her nature. Her new behavior is more fit of a queen than she ever was, now. Yet there are no subjects, no king, no chessboard to play on.

I like to think that sometimes, Mary and Frederick share some family stories, some scandalous secret hidden in the Kreigburg bloodline. Mary relishes these moments, as they are a connection to her dear family. She's glad she found familiarity in so many other guests of the manor

She's the self-proclaimed Party Planner in the manor, with the help of other characters for more insight depending on the theme of the party/event.

She's the type of person to try and pet random animals. Ann was going crazy as Apostle disappeared, getting Alva's help to search for him, only to find him on Mary's lap, purring contently as Mary petted him while enjoying Kurt's stories about his adventures. The same thing happened with Brooke Rose. And Murro's boar. And with Wick. And most animal pets. She sees animal, she must abduct them and pet them.

She finds Kevin charming, if not a bit rugged. Not usually her taste, but that cowboy sure knows how to treat a lady without expecting anything in return. Just giving them the respect they deserve.

One time she had a rough day, and in the evening she saw most people being served Demi's drinks. She never really tried hard alcohol, but that day? Oh she definitely needed it. She woke up with a bad hangover and wearing a mismatch of different people's clothes, between Joseph's shirt, Jack's coat, Philippe's too long trousers, Kevin's hat and so on.

At one point, she and Michiko invited Anne for some tea. It became a support session for the three women that they desperately needed. That day, Mary and Anne found a new friend.

She enjoys having her hair played with, particularly getting the longer strands braided. She misses the lenght of her hair when she was alive, but getting her hair played with gives her back some joy. She only lets her closest friends do it though.
