For the Failtopia ships you support, what sort of date ideas do you see each pairing doing?

"Support" is basically all of them, so I'll just do the ones I actually ship, since that's what I assume you meant:

Eribo don't go on dates that often, what with Bo still having strong issues with socialising, and they usually keep it simple when they do go out, like a restaurant, or a quiet long walk. The latter is especially nice, since the reason for these dates is usually to take a break from The Incident's craziness (also, usually suggested by Erica).

Lanchi, on the direct other hand, can almost never let a date go quietly. Chi's made sure to bring her girlfriend to every possible outing she can, even the boring ones, and every single one has resulted in a night to remember. This does mean they also don't go out particularly often, Lanc isn't always in the mood for the insanity.

Marion stick to what they do in canon, get some drinks at a café and argue about whatever's on their mind. Orion used to go all-out whenever he took his wife out on a date, not having much else to do with his money, so he appreciates a more low-key experience when he's with Mar.

Smuk rarely takes either of his partners out to dinner, he much prefers to cook it himself, and not wanting him to be left out of the experience, Rose and Bob don't go alone either. At least, not often. All three of them enjoy the simpler Outings, with stargazing being a particular favourite of Rose's (when she feels up for it).

All the other ships I'm a fan of, I don't think would actually go on dates, either because they're too young, or they probably never make themselves official.

Random Failtopia thoughts

(Some of these are new, some of these are not, most aren't canon)

"Pyrotechnic" is a perfectly viable ship name for Lanchi.

Orion struggled to differentiate between Slapo's autism and Shrimp's ADHD, hence the brick for a gift.

Bill being the Cat class initially is never explained, but we know he met Chat right before his first onscreen appearance, and they're obsessed with a man in the Cat class, so the dots connect for it to be Chat who convinced Bill to take up the class.

Chi's illiteracy in S1 probably means she didn't know how to spell anyone's name, especially Pirahnyawn's.

Not one person ever questions the massive circles, grey skin, and complete lack of eye contact that make up Bo's face, because Miitopia faces are usually that fucked-up.

The reason the Dark Lord needed a ghost specifically to assassinate Mar was because the Chef himself is a ghost (Dark Curse), and only a ghost can kill another ghost.

Bo and Rose being immediate family is impossible, but Rose being a descendant of Bo is not, under the assumption that despite not having children herself, Bo's bloodline didn't die with her.

The only three characters to have a canonical dynamic with Slapo are Orion, Mar, and Bo.

All we know about Chat's backstory is that they came from the Otherworld, and are obsessed with Failboat. The only big thing Failboat did in the Otherworld was the S1 final boss fight, which ended in a huge explosion. It's entirely possible that this explosion is what disrupted the Otherworld faces, to the point they formed Chat.

Erica likes to cut things short, but when she's around Bo, she keeps launching into long rambles about how great she is. These are the only times she feels like she can let her thoughts loose, since Bo did just that in the greenhouse by revealing her darkest secret.

On a similar note, Erica's past keeps being thrown back in her face, while Bo can never get her past back, no matter how hard she tries.

Due to Zone having both pink and black appearances, there may or may not be two Zones. That, or Friend's a good enough hat maker to alter Zone's colouring themselves. Considering her passion for his clothing, it's probably the latter.

Were it not for the S2 Greenhorne Arc, Hank would probably have a similar amount of screentime to Slapo.

Marion is a semi-canon ship, by the definition of one party canonically having romantic feelings toward the other, but whether Orion returns Mar's feelings is made comedically unclear.

Chi has inconsistent opinions on spicy food throughout the series, maybe because her fire obsession gets to the point that she has extremely high standards for what's spicy enough.

Rose holds her fan in the specific way she does to hide the mole on her face, something she's grown to hate because it sets her apart from the image of Rosalina.

"Deko" is not his real name, he was probably given Izuku Midoriya at birth, but his new name had to come from somewhere. That place may have been the lab where he was experimented on. The project name may have been along the lines of "DEK-0".

The lab experiment thing also makes it really funny that the only two people he really bonds with are the Scientists of the series.

Shrimp's in-universe fandom could very well be toxic. There are definitely people who are a little too interested in finding out where that 'mysterious' chip on her tooth came from.

Bill is the only character who consistently calls out Chat for their reckless behaviour. In other words, he's the one who moderates Chat.

If Kronkui didn't control who joined the team, TFFM would be down six members (Bob, Smuk, Deko, Rose, Yawn, Joker). TI, on the other hand, would only be down three members (Orion, Failboat, Chat).

Chi gets very protective when enemies are close to her allies in S1, and in parallel, Erica gets very protective when enemies are close to her allies in S2, especially if that ally is Chi.

Despite Failica being everything that they aren't, the first ship ever concocted in Failtopia was Smukle Bob.

The Duality of Miis

This was originally going to be a simple text post meme, but I decided to upgrade it to its full potential, within my capability

The above thought occurred to me a couple nights ago, that RoseBob should really be called that. Not sure if I'll commit to that change, it feels a bit weird not having Bob in the name, but it sparked some thoughts about them.

I've always liked them as a ship, but never really been obsessed with it like I have a lot of other Failtopia ships (including both of them with Smuk, ironically). I've always thought it was because I've never quite been able to pinpoint their dynamic as a relationship. Their canon interactions are great, the warrior/princess coding is a lot of fun and makes perfect sense character-wise! But nothing really comes to mind if I imagine them on an actual date, if that makes sense.

I think I finally cracked the code, though. The Warrior/Princess coding isn't either of their actual personalities, Bob's just simplifying himself to his job and Rose's just simplifying herself to the part of Rosalina. We all know this for a fact. But what does that actually imply about their dynamic?

Of course, that they're playing it up in all their canon interactions. By design, on both of their ends, we don't know how their genuine selves interact.

And, as a natural consequence, neither would they.

There'd be an awkwardness about them that only Rose would be familiar with, and there'd be an emotional connection that only Bob would be familiar with. Neither of them are fully equipped for a genuine relationship, because they both funnelled all their energy into their jobs, and didn't leave room for such a thing. They're flirtatious, but they're pretty bad at going further than that, Bob essentially got rejected by half the team, and we know for a fact that Rose and Pirahnyawn didn't work out, since. Petunyawn.

Simple Bob is an honourable warrior, and Rosalina is an all-powerful princess. Bob and Rose are something wholly different, something wholly unfamiliar, but it contrasts the roles they've been flattened into. They could have a simple conversation, without oversimplifying themselves in the process, and I think that'd mean a lot.

I still don't know what they'd talk about, they barely have anything in common, but maybe that adds to it. Even when they don't have much to say, it means a lot that they have the option to speak their minds to each other. Just as long as they stop defining themselves by their roles, or better yet, stop strictly defining themselves at all.
