After a long, incredibly irritating series of events, I finally have a computer that can run modern games again. Hooray!
#no seriously#i got the graphics card#and at first i couldn't install it because there was an unneccecary peice of metal in the case making it not fit#so I'm like I'll just remove it#but it had those non removable screws#so i look up online how to get them out#but the ones that were in mine just happened to be ones that aren't even the standard ones of those#so i had my bro use his dremmel to remove them#and then yay it fit!#but then I learned the card drivera wouldn't work with my version of windows#so ok I'll update windows I guess#except i got an error when trying to download it and it wouldn't let me use the install program#so i looked up workarounds#but in order to install it that way I needed either an empty disc or a flash drive with 16g of space#which i did not have#so i bought a flash drive#turns out you can't put a file that big on the drive unless it's formatted a certain way#so i format it#but then it turns out you can't boot from that drive if it IS formatted that way#so I tried the disc option#and it kept giving me errors#so finally i called up my tech friend and he helped me#and at least i was assured when he got frustrated with all the errors and hoops he had to jump through so it wasn't just me#but now it's working#hooray!
