What i have learned in the past year is that i have a very strong preference for judges that let you set your dog on the table while they're assessing movement on the dog ahead. We have not been lucky so far this year 💀

#it just stresses me out when i dont have time to get her to land properly and get her legs under her without the judge and everyone #watching and waiting #and 50 other exhibitors complaining the sheltie judging is taking too long lol #every show i went to until this year this was the norm but #last few judges has insisted on moving the dog before the table bit #last one didnt even do that she just. didnt let you set up before #this and: tables set nearly all the way into the judges tent (gets really crowded)#tables with wobbly legs #tent roof/tarp set over the table when its windy so its fluttering right above the dogs ears #troj is steady on the table #by all means #but you try getting ur shelp to show ears when everything over and under them is going WOBBLEWOBBLEWOBBLE

A very brief turn by Frazer Hines, as stable hand Jem, in Peter Diamond's pilot for a proposed adventure series Lochinvar (1968). There was little interest in the pilot or any subsequent series, and ultimately the sole filmed episode was never transmitted - it survived in the hands of director/producer Diamond until his family donated the film stock to Kaleidoscope a few years ago.

#fave spotting #frazer hines #lochinvar #tv pilot #jamie mccrimmon #doctor who #classic doctor who #1968 #peter diamond #an unusually small role for Frazer; he may not have been lead material‚ but he's barely onscreen 30 seconds here and was a well known tv #presence thanks to stints on Emergency Ward 10 and of course DW (which he was still starring in). possibly he did this as a favour to #Diamond; a ubiquitous stunt arranger and fight choreographer‚ this was Diamond's attempt at breaking out into production and direction but #he would have known Frazer from various jobs he'd done on DW (including Frazer's intro story The Highlanders‚ where Diamond had been fight #arranger as well as having a credited acting role as a sailor). this was shot around July '68 so presumably between Frazer's work on The #Mind Robber and The Invasion; apologies for the slightly weird stretcg effect on the pics but that's true of the materials themselves #strangely Lochinvar is not in 4:3 aspect‚ despite being quite definitely a tv pilot‚ but in a strangely unnatural widescreen as if the #masters were altered at some point in post production (perhaps for a potential cinema release as a support feature?). i can only conjecture #tho. unsurprisingly there's almost no info out there about this obscure tv film that sat in a rusty can for 50 years unseen.#also my immediate thought on reading about it was that the shooting dates Very Nearly coincide with The Mind Robber shooting #(nearly but not quite) and i excitedly wondered if maybe Frazer's infamous bout of chickenpox that saw him replaced for ep2 of that serial #had secretly been a little mischievous excuse to go away and have some fun playing with horses in Buckinghamshire... alas no #Diamond would reunite with Frazer (and Lochinvar co star Noel Coleman) for the following years The War Games where he'd again #be pulling double duty as fight arranger and (uncredited) actor. later in life he would end up doing a little more directing work for tv #but afaik the Peter Diamond Productions company that made this film never worked again

My super nice water bottle broke beyond repair and I can't replace it because my mom doesn't have her company discount anymore and this cup costs $60😭

hcq lore doesnt compute. why does yanqing recognize dan heng and why isnt dan heng like a couple centuries old and why does jingliu recognize yanqing . ????????

#jingliu was exiled wayyy wayyyy long ago wasnt she????#and then dan feng was imprisoned for a while before his molting rebirth but it couldnt have been for long???#how long do vidyadharas stay in their eggs????#i can see jing yuan being around a century or so old when the hcq stuff goes down #it would mean yingxing would be younger than him but blade DOES say that jing yuan used to be pretty arrogant himself #so maybe older in years but younger/immature #so that would put jingliu at like 800-1000 yrs old baiheng at ~300 yrs old yingxing anywhere from 30 to 50 #jing yuan 100-200 yrs old and dan fengs age doesnt really matter beyond the fact that he was at least younger than 700 yrs old #jingliu says that the hcq promised to have a drink together 7 centuries ago so the hcq stuff happened 700 yrs ago #putting jing yuan at around 800 yrs old currently and jingliu is like nearly 2000 #blade is about 700+ yrs old and has died by jingliu and dan hengs hands multiple times over the course of those years #but if dan heng was only released like. recently. then theres no way thats true and blade was able to terrorize him so thoroughly #in just one or two meetings. dan heng literally has nightmares abt the guy #so anyway what im getting at is that jingliu shouldnt recognize yanqing and yanqing shouldnt recognize dan heng

You're literally the reason the idea to do @pkmn-redirect got in my head.

another childhood bucket list item obtained: i finally have a snuggie

#and it's the real thing not even a knockoff #kinda surprised they still exist #but also not surprised bc Blanket. blanket is universal #i just remember a lot of those As Seen On Tv ads like. imploding within 5 years #they still do As Seen On Tv products like there are still boxes marked with that logo it almost feels wrong like an ancient relic #bc most like. ubiquitous 2000s brands from my childhood are just Gone or at least so fundamentally changed it's not the same thing #heard about like 50 more companies going bankrupt probably in the last year alone #anyway ive always wanted a snuggie it's one of those Always Wanted things that never go away #others include: staples easy button (obtained!); mini fridge (not); pillow pet (i had a knockoff once); power drill (not)#i spent a surprising amount of my childhood actually going out of my way to buy stuff i could use in my own apartment in the future #i grew up lower middle class and then just lower class #so like. i always Knew i couldn't just furnish the whole apartment at once i Knew I'd have to build stuff up over time #also bc when my sister got kicked out she had like. nothing. in her trailer. and i did not want to have nothing #i knew if dad was willing to just toss out my sister like that i would absolutely follow suit #and i did! two years younger than my sister when she was!#it just happened that my mom didn't want me homeless at FOURTEEN when i legally could not work for two more years #so she went with me and we lived with my grandma #so take that dad. turns out throwing family members out willy nilly makes the rest of your family not trust you or like you!#and now i get to rub it in his face that HE can't function in a house by himself and still needs to beg my mom to clean up after him #bc i spent so much of my childhood getting berated and called lazy for not doing chores #getting told stuff like 'you have to function by yourself your parents can't always pick up after you'#and then he's literally useless without his wife #he's not disabled and he's not neurodivergent he's never even had a serious health scare he just doesn't bother to learn how to clean #his excuse is that he doesn't know how to use the washer and dryer (it has been almost ten years fucker. learn)#or he doesn't know which cleaning products to use (you have google and a library card. LOOK IT UP)#he's the only person i get mad at for this behaviour bc he's a fucking hypocrite and a child abuser about it too #he is the exception to my rule of everyone needs to be given the space to get things done where they're able and deserve help when needed #and I'll bend over backwards to make excuses for other people so i DONT exclude them from my rule i will try to find every good reason first #he has no fucking excuse though he made two teenagers nearly homeless bc he thought we were too lazy and then he's even worse

I did it. I watched Raymond Burr's final movie as Perry Mason tonight and I'm not ashamed to say I cried a little. In just shy of a year, I've watched every minute of Burr playing Perry Mason—every episode of the show and every TV movie. This character has come to mean so much to me and Burr's portrayal of him was so good and so special. I'm glad I still have a handful of the books left to read because I'm not ready to be finished with him.

as a guy that loves getting into obscure media that like. maybe 5 people talk about now. it is interesting the difference between consuming media that is SUPER popular and everyone loves your fave (a curse i would never wish upon anyone. the posts will never be good) and a media that like. there is NO ONE actively posting about. it has barely any fan presence online. and honestly its kind of peaceful

which exhibit in the aquarium is your favorite? and which exhibit do you think is best to bring someone from out of town to, if that is different from your favorite?

Ooh, my favorite by far is the sunken ship exhibit. Years ago when the shipyard was retiring some old cargo ships, someone at the aquarium managed to convince them to donate one to us. So they gave it to us, helped us engineer a huge enclosure to keep it in, and we sorta fast-tracked the coral and reef growth and filled the tank with local pokèmon that you'd see in one of these artificial reefs in the wild! You can see it from both sides and there's a tunnel going through it, so you can see everything that's going on and the kinds of habits the pokèmon make for themselves in it. Maybe I'm biased because I spend so much time diving in it and exploring (I have to, to make sure all of our fish are accounted for), but it's easily one of the most immersive and impressive things the Slateport Museum has to offer.
