raine had to play so many violin concertos while they were in school && they hated every second of it
#classical music: 🥰#playing classical music: 🥰#playing classical music solo in front of a stone-faced audience of old people who are either grading you or mentally calling u a slur: 👎👎👎👎👎#this is one of those where I should’ve just put it all in the post#someone please put them in a broadway pit orchestra where they can just play and not be perceived#for god’s sake#or even better let them play for the met!!!!#someone give this bitch a harpsichord they’ll play the best opera score u ever heard in your life#anyway raine loves baroque music dearly and their academic focus was in historical performance#but getting up in front of a crowd to play a couple hundred year old concerto is their worst nightmare#I keep putting them in situations where they’re a jazz musician and I am TELLING YOU. raine is a born improviser#darius does NOT know what he’s talking about. raine is a great liar they’re a great actor and they can improv their way out of anything#ESPECIALLY music.#their stage fright VANISHES if they don’t have the pressure of following a script or playing a score note for note#if they can just fuck around I promise they’ll play the most beautiful thing you’ve ever heard AND do it with a smile#out of.#headcanon.
