   He  wasn’t  close  with  his  father.  He  was  closest  to  his  mother  ,  but  his  father  was  the  acting  head  of  the  family.  What  would  his  mother  do  without  his  father  ?  Would  she  be  furious  at  him  ?  Or  would  she  be  proud  ?  The  children  competing  for  the  spot  of  head  of  the  family.  Except....Kalluto  didn’t  want  it.  He  wanted  to  stay  with  the  Troupe.  What  was  best  for  the  family  though  ?  What  was  best  for  the  Troupe  ?   His  grandfather  was  still  here.  He  could  retake  the  head  until  someone  took  the  spot.  But  what  of  his  mother  ?  Then  again  ,  maybe  -  maybe  he  could  get  his  brother  BACK  this  way.  

   “  .   .   .  Father.  “  Kalluto  whispers  his  final  verdict  with  a  trembling  voice.  That  would  be  best  ,  wouldn’t  it ?  But  it  was  also  selfish  and  he  couldn’t  pretend  otherwise.  Kalluto  loved  his  mother  ,  his  father  was  a  virtual  STRANGER  to  him.  It  was  easier  to  kill  those  with  weaker  attachments.

   It  was  hypothetical  of  course  ,  but  the  guilt  and  distress  were  quite  real.

Soooooo...this is basically the plot for a WIP that I really don’t want to spoil 😂 I’m going to need to put a pin into talking about Tate just yet. Sorry, Anony!

What I can say is this: You're never going to get a chapter or a fic from his POV—everything you’ll learn about Tate is through Silva’s sometimes too-glossy filter. I have two pieces coming out that feature Tate pretty heavily; the reader will learn more about him as Silva peels back the layers of his guardedness. When she learns more about what makes him tick, you will as well.

As far as 🌻 what little things bring him joy and make the world brighter...Tate is jaded and tired and nothing makes him smile more horribly than bringing a tiny measure of inconvenience into the life of some poor, unsuspecting orc. He knows that it’s the little little things in life that truly get under our skin, and it’s the little things he takes a lot of joy in fucking with. (Like say, opening a bar in a dry nudist town, knowing full well the local law prohibits nudity + alcohol...and then stonewalling any other business from obtaining a liquor license.) Silva makes his world brighter for a myriad of reasons, one of which being that she’s always game to go along with his spiteful plans.

I love my angsty, malevolent boy, and I love writing his and Silva’s story—I hope you’ll enjoy it as well!
