Finally managed to find a copy of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and I really love that they gave Lucy Gray an Applachian accent. Canonically District 12 is located in Applachia (hence the coal mining), and there's so much history and thematic parallels there that someone more read than me could pinpoint, but just the fact that her character is acknowledging that connection is very cool. I wish that the original movies had done the same (imagine Katniss with an Applachian accent! Not speaking like a Hollywood-written character but a real person with an entire history!)
