Though the team did uncover Sara Jean’s innocence during their last minute investigation, unfortunately, they couldn’t save her from her own pain and guilt. In the end, Riley was revealed to have been alive all along, and she chose to proceed her execution with the hope that he could continue succeeding at a life protected and untainted by the evilness he was born into.
