Optimus in my human au is very important to me bc she's transfem but her gender presentation doesn't always match that. she uses he/they/she pronouns, for example, and likes presenting masculine a lot of the time and doesn't really attempt to pass. she doesn't experience gender dysphoria in relation to her body, but does get dysphoric based off how others treat her.

given how she likes to present, it's very rare for people to even consider her gender identity beyond what they see, and while she hates it, she's found a community with the Autobots and they respect and support her enough to make it more than bearable. she's also only recently started getting more comfortable with presenting feminine, which makes her incredibly happy, though she only reserves it for when she's in private or with people she trusts the most.
