i will always love astro but a part of me kinda regrets this and is like maybe i would have faired better in geology. like i do wish i had taken more geology classes i only took that one and i didnt pay more than 5 minutes attention to it

#brot posts #sorry im sitting in the geology lounge rn and im like. man.#my whole idea beyond not majoring or even just minoring in geology #was that like. its a lot of chemistry too and iDO NOT care for chem #like i always figured my enjoyment of geology was more surface level and that doing anything more rigorous would destroy my enjoyment of it #but then again i mean. honestly. lowkey happened with astro too #just i had a higher tolerance for how far i could get before i started to lose enjoyment #the math im honestly fine with its just. eventually it becomes Too Much math .#god and like the planetary science subfield of astro was always one of my favorites …..#the two classes i took on planets/exoplanets were probably the two most valuable astro classes ive ever taken #and planetary science is only like. 50% astronomy. the other 50% is geology.#i literally have a rock collection. i literally love thinking about local geology. i literally have had an #obsession with caves for the past 2 years #but then again i just like thinking about like. erosion. and like. the big picture of how land forms and evolves etc #so im sure once you get into the nitty gritty actual science of it i’d lose interest #idk. head in my hands. forever mourning the future in science that i had dreamed of and that ive since given up on
