what sucks is that sometimes fandom staples are good but certain fandoms are so weird about the fics and the authors makes them not as appealing if that makes sense
#not going to tag it’s actual name bc i don’t want it to pop up#but like. the hp fic yk. imo it’s good!!#it’s very intentional with its writing as has thought out themes and motifs#and from what i gather is a very close representation to what life was like as a queer disabled person in the 70’s#but then people put it on good reads and looked at it purely from a shipping lense (when it really truly is a character study)#and took the writing as canon that it all kinda falls apart#specifically with hp fandom i feel like they tend to make fics trendy and required reading and that shouldn’t be the case!!!#and yes some of them are good like super big mega fic but others are not#and the way people treat the authors of mega popular fics is bad. poor. like celebrity stays#status#n e way
