Welcome back to the Spring Has Sprung doll photo challenge! I know we skipped a year, but since there seems to be some interest--we're bringing it back for 2024! My dolls and I are all very excited to get this started, and we hope that you guys enjoy this too! Like last time, we decided to focus the prompts around some of the maybe lesser known holidays taking throughout spring! This is an absolutely no pressure challenge, please feel free to participate as much or as little as you want to, we’re all just here to have fun! I’m using the tag #springhassprungag2024 for this challenge if you guys want to use it too (and please, even though this challenge was made primarily with American Girl Doll Tumblr in mind if you have other kinds of dolls who want to participate they are totally welcome as well!) I'm making it my own personal goal to try to showcase my dolls you all may not have seen as much, and I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!

In honor of both "Baking Day" on 5/19 and "Tea Day" on 5/21, share your dolls having tea time--or maybe even a whole tea party!

Hi everybody I am taking part in @agrosehamada ‘s photo challenge AG Spring has Sprung 2024. Week 1’s theme is reading so I took a photo of my AG Cinderella doll reading her dressmaking book to find a new pattern to sew. Jaq and Gus are assisting her. I hope that you like my photo. Spring has Sprung, week 5: Lookalike

I have dressed Emily to look like me! She is wearing a navy blue cardigan over a white tee, an infinity scarf, slacks, and flats. Oh and glasses too. Not very exciting, but something I would wear to work. She looks a bit like a (younger!) me; however my hair is just plain brown.

Week Two of Spring Has Sprung 2024: Theater!

"Popular--you're gonna be popular!" 🎶

"Oh Miss Elphaba--you're beautiful!" 🩷💚

Kavi (daughter of Elphaba and Glinda) and Callie (niece/adopted daughter of Zeb and Kallus) met in theater class when Callie first moved to San Fransokyo to live with her uncles and cousins. After a rough outing by a teacher/coming out to her mom which led to her uncles taking custody of her, and moving all the way across the country from her birth state of Florida to California, starting a new school in the middle of the school year was just another big change Callie wasn't sure she was ready for. But almost as soon as walked into theatre class she made friends with Kavi, bonding over their love of Wicked and musicals in general! (Kavi's moms met playing Glinda and The Wicked Witch in a Broadway production of The Wizard of Oz, so she grew up in a very musical household!)

They both dream of playing Glinda and Elphaba together someday (Callie wants to be the first trans Glinda, and they both think there should be a version where Elphaba and Glinda end to together), and they love dressing up and singing the songs--they even plan to perform "Popular" at their school's musical showcase!

When they're not getting ready for their next show, they like hanging out at each other's houses and listening to musical soundtracks, or going on dates to get boba tea at the Lucky Cat Cafe! 🧋

Spring Has Sprung Doll Photo Challenge Week 4: Pets

We live in San Diego county and have taken loads of trips to the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. I have always imagined Kira (aka Outback Julie) as a junior volunteer at the Safari Park. So, here she is helping a her koala friend find a suitable eucalyptus tree to much on at the park.

If you’ve never had a chance to visit, it’s a pretty amazing park that focuses on conservation and education.

TBH, the koalas are not actually at the Safari Park but I’m taking artistic liberties 🐨. You can learn more about their habitat at the SD Zoo here.

Week One of Spring Has Sprung 2024: Reading!

Week Seven of Spring Has Sprung 2024: Superheroes!

Who better to represent Superheroes week than our two resident Avengers in training, Viv Vision and Agnes Harkness?

Viv is the daughter of Vision and the Scarlet Witch (aka Wanda Maximoff)--she's a synthezoid like her dad (which means she has all his abilities including flight and phasing through things due to being able to change her body's density) but has been learning magic from her mom as well! Viv was built a government lab along two other synthezoids, Virginia (a synthezoid designed to mimic Wanda) and Vin (her twin brother), meant to be used as weapons. When the Avengers came to investigate and then rescue them, Virginia sacrificed herself to save her children, but unfortunately only Viv made it out alive. Wanda and Vision took her home, and while her life didn't have an easy start she found a home with them and her twin brothers, Billy and Tommy. (Viv's MCU backstory by @thespectralvision please check out his amazing artwork!)

Agnes had a similar difficult start to life. Created from shadows by Agatha Harkness, she was sent to Viv's school to befriend Viv, with the goal of eventually betraying the Maximoff family. What Agatha didn't plan on was Agnes and Viv falling in love, and when Agnes told the Maximoffs why she'd been created they put a stop to Agatha's plan and adopted Agnes. Wanda loves having another girl in the family and teaching her magic alongside Viv and Billy!

(No I didn't borrow a DuckTales plotline, what are you talking about? >.>)

When they're not busy training, Viv and Agnes love going on flights over San Fransokyo together!

I am nearly always singing this song when I have to style my dolls, so it seemed an appropriate number for them to perform. Ivy even got to show off her gymnastics skills. :)

This week's Spring Has Sprung prompt is pets, so I picked Blaire to pose with my desk puppy. I've got AG pets (somewhere, in a box) but Bonny is the unofficial pet for my dolls.

Week Twelve of Spring Has Sprung 2024: The Ocean

Hope (daughter of Ezra Bridger and Hiro Hamada) loves the ocean and wants to be a marine biologist when she grows up so she can help all the creatures who live on it! She can't wait to be old enough to work at the Marine Institute of San Fransokyo with her Papa, Ezra, and help out with conservation efforts on her hometown and get to interact with some of her favorite creatures, like the sea lions who live in the bay!

Julietta (daughter of Honey Lemon and Gogo Tomago) also loves aquatic creatures, both salt and freshwater! She also wants to be a marine biologist, but wants to focus on studying smaller creatures like axolotls and tardigrades!
