He was so hyper, cute, funny, caring, and sweet as hell

And you??

You were the black cat to his golden retriever

You were quiet, reserved, antisocial, and introverted

You barely smiled or laugh

What could you say? Opposites attract

He was just different than all the other people you have encountered

And surprisingly the only one you can tolerate

Charlie always made it his goal to make you smile or crack a laugh; that’s what made y’all friends

Now you two always do everything together despite looking like Raven and Starfire

And over time driving around together, supporting each other at events, and learning more about each other

You developed a crush on Charlie

But you always kept it to yourself so you didn’t ruin your friendship

You always thought he deserved better

Someone who could match his energy, someone who could smile just as brightly as him

Not someone who could barely handle the sight of people let alone someone who is the personification of grumpy cat

So….you couldn’t really be mad at him for going out on dates with people

After all, you encouraged him to do so….you were happy to see him venture out and get to know different people

But what you weren’t happy about was seeing him at your hotel room door at 11 PM at night

“Charlie?” You said squinting your eyes at the bright lights in the hallway. Charlie immediately got up from the floor as you continue to say in a sleepy voice, “What are you doing here? You’re supposed to be on your date.”

“Things changed, can I come in?” He asked in a quiet voice. You moved aside to let him in your room. He turned back to you with a small sheepish smile on his face. “I’m sorry for ruining your night.”

“You’re not ruining my night; I’m just confused about why you’re here and you’re supposed to be on your date.”

Charlie sighed, “Somethings came up-"


“Cut the crap. You look like you’re getting ready to cry and I don’t want you to lie to me. That won’t work out for anyone in this situation.”

Your dear friend sat down on the floor as you looked down at him, he gave another sigh. “She was horrible. She ditched me.”

You sat down next to him, as his eyes were getting glassy and filling with tears. “What happened?”
 “She was just talking about herself for the first 10 minutes; her occupation, how she thinks wrestling is stupid, how many men swiped right on her. Then, halfway she said she needs to use the bathroom and she never came back.”

“I’m sorry, she doesn’t deserve you. She’s missing out on a cool person. Don’t sit here and cry over her.”

Charlie wipes his eyes and chuckles, “I don’t know why I’m even crying. She wasn’t my type.”

Your eyes almost popped out of your head. “Then why would you go out with her? You could have saved yourself the trip and emotions.”

“I want, well need, to get over my crush. She’s so amazing, beautiful, smart, and funny, but I’m sure that I’m not even her type.”

“Do you know for sure? Like, have you confessed?” You asked. He shook his head no. “Well, then you still have a chance. You need to tell this girl how you feel before deciding to move on to other people. Just let her know.”

Charlie nodded his head and took a deep breath. He turned to you, making you slightly look up at him. “Y/N, I like you.” He said making your eyes widen. “The only reason why I haven’t said anything for the past three years is because I didn’t think you would like me. Or that you deserve much better than me. I’m so sorry that I’ve put you in-“

“Charlie, I like you too.” You cut him off, making him choke on his spit. “I haven’t said anything because I thought you deserved better than me.”

“What do you mean?”
 “You deserve someone who is just like you: nice, sweet, hyper, and friendly. To be honest, I’m more like a black cat than a golden retriever to be honest.”

Charlie smiled before taking your hand, “Y/N, I don’t want someone like me. I’m already too much to handle.” He said making you slightly chuckle. “I love how well we complement and balance each other. To be honest, if I was to be an animal, I would be your golden retriever any day every day.”

You kissed his cheek and leaned your head against his shoulder, allowing the walls within your heart to break down for the sun sitting next to you, “And I would love to be your black cat.”

This is a lil sketch of a lil part in my fic, below is the draft version of the scene :3

My thoughts are suddenly taken over by my Protocols. They practically screamed at me to move, begin patrol.

“Yeah yeah…”

I pointlessly mumble aloud to them, as if that would make them let up. But, I knew very well from experience that nothing would get them to silence other then completing…the tasks. Sighing I start to exit our room. At the very edge of the balcony I stare down into the ball pit, I imagine drowning in it.

Funny.

My body flailing,hand out stretched praying for someone to save me, but of course no one would. Gasping for air as if I had lungs.

Yeah, funny.

I hover one foot over the edge before gifting my body to gravity. I don’t call for the wire right away, I wanted to fall. I wanted to feel helpless for just a moment.

It didn’t work…
