2P Espresso was supposed to kill 2P Madeleine but ended up falling for him. Espresso struggles to befriend anyone in Republic only for him to grow attached to the villain whom he's supposed to kill.

Madeleine saved him because the enemies that cornered Espresso stole something from him. He got his stuff back AND a mage that craves for Madeleine's validation lmao.

Madeleine: Are you sure you're not here to spy on me?

Espresso: *Gasp* Of course not! Were you not listening to my talk about keeping one's trust?

Madeleine: I just don't want any knights wrecking my hideout...

Espresso: I assure you that I won't do that, you're my friend now so it is my duty to keep this place a secret!

Madeleine: ...Alright
